Having sex in this scenario may involve someone being slightly tipsy through to blackout drunk. In real life there’s a judgement call to be made as to how drunk someone is to be capable to give a real.consent. when making this kind of campaign and getting people to think about the Written and directed by Christopher Moltisanti Pulp Fiction shirt besides I will buy this question of consent it’s easier to make this kind of blanket declaration. I think we can all agree ficking someone unconscious is rape, u less perhaps they gave a prior consent knowing that was something which would happen. Similarly, slightly tipsy is not a bar to consenting. Somewhere there in the middle is a line we probably don’t want to cross. So I’ve had a friend who was posing as a teen for ads companies. They never told him what they were working on.
Written and directed by Christopher Moltisanti Pulp Fiction shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater, long sleeve tee
And of course there’s the Written and directed by Christopher Moltisanti Pulp Fiction shirt besides I will buy this Friends subplot where one of them poses for stock photos and ends up being the face of VD on the NYC subway. Hey, his character in the ad was drunk too, so neither he nor Josie could actually consent. So everybody in the ad is a rapist/rape victim. I’m sure neither of them was happy about being in the ad. And you also committed pre-life genocide according to whatever shithole republican state just passed that embryo law. Probably. So like, anytime a woman menstruates with getting pregnant, is that considered murder? If we’re calling all unfertilized eggs “life”, that seems like the logical consequence. I joke, but I’m honestly starting to think the only reason they haven’t done that yet is because they don’t understand the menstrual cycle I always questioned the legitimacy of these. Like most people take home/go home with people from bars. You’re trying to tell me that millions of people in the world are rapists every day of the week? Yeah, I’ve definitely had sex with women after a night out. We were both consenting adults. Somehow, based on the poster, I am a rapist, simply because. When I was young, my female friends had plenty of sex they regretted the next day, having been plastered the night before. We all did, men and women. It made for great stories. We were young, free and promiscuous.
Exactly. Just part of getting drunk and making bad decisions. I’ve had soup that I regretted making while drinking. Oh for sure, who hasn’t had regrets. It just pisses me off beyond all reason when some people think that regrets are the Written and directed by Christopher Moltisanti Pulp Fiction shirt besides I will buy this same as being raped. If I’m drunk and I do something I wouldn’t do while sober, it’s still my fault. If I could accuse someone of rape due to drunken regrets, could I also get out of stealing because I would never do that sober and I was not thinking clearly. Ofcourse not. They wake up saying “I can’t believe I did that!” and then walk into court saying “I can’t believe he did that!” My understanding is that in order for someone to be so drunk that they can’t legally consent, they have to be REALLY drunk. If two people go home and they’re both drunk but still with it, legally they can hook up. However, if someone is falling over themselves, can’t stand up, can’t speak coherently, then they cant consent. I’ve seen people seriously argue that having one drink makes you unable to consent. I always thought these people must never have got out much We hold you responsible for everything else you do drunk. You can’t get off a DUI because you didn’t consent to drive. There is a level of drunk that is too far, absolutely, but just “drunk” doesn’t cut it for me. One one hand, yes. On the other, this poster illustrates the way these situations are likely to be handled at universities, which is where I’ve seen these posted. I’d rather have posters warn people of a sexist reality than an egalitarian fantasy.

More about this Written and directed by Christopher Moltisanti Pulp Fiction shirt
100% correct. When I was in halls I had a girl try to break into my apartment because I said I wasn’t going to let her in (it was 4am I was originally sleeping). She fucked the Written and directed by Christopher Moltisanti Pulp Fiction shirt but in fact I love this door up so bad it had to be replaced and she didn’t get in any trouble. Now imagine what would happen to a guy trying to break into a girl’s dorm at 4am: immediate ejection from the university. Nah, the university actively tries to cover up scandals. My roommate was arrested in front of me after being caught lying to police about who he is and that dude still became a doctor. Depends on the school. also, if it’s a private campus, then there’s a possibility that stuff runs through security and not a police force and that means that they can either avoid or stop a lot of things from gaining law-enforcement attention
Source: my own private school used to constantly not get people in trouble for ridiculous things, here are a few examples. Security broke up a party with about 30 underage people all hammered, and then one of them came back later and drank with people who didn’t leave – no penalties 2 students bought mustangs and made them crazy fast and used to drag race 60mph through campus – $20 fine and they got told they had to change their exhaust or move the Written and directed by Christopher Moltisanti Pulp Fiction shirt but in fact I love this cars off campus Caught with a trunk full of rifles and other guns in the dorm parking lot – no penalties cause they were “going up north the next week” Found in an on campus apartment – Hunting rifle with the serial number filed off and multiple bags of loratabs and viks – couldn’t figure out who it belonged to and nobody got in trouble Many public universities have their own PD. These are real police and they have the same qualifications as officers anywhere else in the state. The university will often have the PD reduce the charge or not charge at all. Crime gets reported to the FBI for UCR and is also public record. No university wants to have something like rape or violent crime to be know so they do their best to ensure it is not. Or you could not make your SA awareness campaign one big double standard joke that gets people to just ignore the message completely Yeah but when college students are getting drunk and hooking up very frequently it gives crazy ladies ammo to fuck up someone else life if they so choose in the event they are wronged in some way that has nothing to do with sex
This…. This is making me think…. They’re BOTH drunk…. Neither ONE of them is capable of giving true consent…. Doesn’t that mean that they actually both raped each other? We know that it’s possible for a woman to rape a man…. If he was drunk and she wasn’t, and they had sex, and he regretted it or felt shame because of what he couldn’t control, surely that would be rape? So… If both were drunk, and both felt shame and regret over their lack of control….. Hmmm. Edit: a lot of replies to this comment have reminded me that legal rape is differently defined than my assumption of what rape is, specifically, it being required that penetration has occurred, for rape to occur. This actually clears up something for me, that I think we’ve all noticed in news reports about female offenders who force sex on children, and the Written and directed by Christopher Moltisanti Pulp Fiction shirt but in fact I love this media choosing not to use the word “rape” in their reports: if what she did, doesn’t satisfy the legal definition of “rape”, that could (maybe) explain why they so often use words that seem to downplay what she did, versus when a man rapes a child, maybe in part because the word “rape” carries a very visceral and violent image with it, and the words “sexually assaulted” are vague and used for too wide a gamut of possible offenses… hmm. Still, another example of how it gets downplayed, when women assault someone, I guess, regardless of the possibility that it might have something to do with media trying not to get sued for “inaccurate reporting” or whatever…
fun fact: the Written and directed by Christopher Moltisanti Pulp Fiction shirt but in fact I love this UK has a stupid law that means this isnt technically true here. a woman can sexually assault a man, but not rape him. because our definitions are bullshit. Need to penetrated by a penis for it to be classed as rape in the UK I believe, woman don’t have penis’ so therefore cannot rape a man. It’ll be “downgraded” to sexual assault. By that logic, only a man can rape another man. Assault by penetration isn’t considered rape? If a man instead of putting his dick inside a woman puts a phallic object it would be rape or assault by penetration? In Germany that would be considered rape. Any sexual act that involves pentration of a bodily orifice. No genders or body parts are mentioned.
this is my understanding too. but iirc sexual assault can carry the Written and directed by Christopher Moltisanti Pulp Fiction shirt but in fact I love this same sentence as rape. its judges discretion. The maximum sentence for sexual assault is ten years imprisonment, while for rape it’s life. If, however, there is any anal penetration involved it is the more serious offence of assault by penetration, which has the same maximum sentence as rape. The legal distinction between rape and assault by penetration is only because the latter includes sexual penetration only of the vagina and anus; while putting your dick in someone’s mouth without their consent is sufficient for a charge of rape. If a woman pegs a drunk dude is she raping him then? If “no because it’s not a real penis” then could this create some sort of loophole around prosthetic penises in general?
A drunk guy can have an erect penis though. Same as when he is sleeping. So a woman could get penetrated without the Written and directed by Christopher Moltisanti Pulp Fiction shirt but in fact I love this guy’s consent, no? In India a woman can’t do that either as sexual assault and rape are defined as man on woman crime (unless the man in question is a minor but that’s under another section. ). Another fun fact. We don’t use the word “rape” in Canada’s judicial system. Regardless of gender, it’s Sexual Assault. Or, maybe, just maybe, in the real world, which I know is hard to adjust to, maybe it’s possible that people get drunk, get horny, and want to have sex, and then wake up the next day. Maybe they regret it, maybe they don’t. But classifying that scenario as rape- in the same way that someone who is black out drunk, doesn’t know what is happening, is not cognizant to make a decision, and wakes up with no idea what happened- is rape, is wild to me. People go out to have drinks and get laid all the time- both men and women. Following this logic rigidly just leads to the conclusion that people are constantly running around raping each other all the time. Completely idiotic.
No because most countries specifically only count it as rape if the Written and directed by Christopher Moltisanti Pulp Fiction shirt but in fact I love this victim was a woman. Welcome to earth, it’s fucked. This is the exact same reason I stopped watching switched at birth. Had an entire season long plot calling this guy a rapist because he had sex while drunk with a girl who was also drunk. Girl didn’t even think she was raped, she had to be convinced by her friends and family that she was raped. Definition of “actually, I change my mind now so that means you raped me” This poster is 17 years old. Yes it’s outdated. That miThis poster is 17 years old. Yes it’s outdated. That might be because it’s 17 years old. It’s almost old enough to consent itself There have also been studies that have identified drinking and appearing to drink more than they have as a predatory tactic used by rapists to have ‘plausible’ deniability regardless of the circumstances. One of the things I kept getting asked after my assault was whether my rapist had been drinking. Uh yeah, but unless he had put wine bottle corks in his ears to keep himself from hearing the many many times I was saying “no” and “stop”, drinking had nothing to do with what happened.
Last time I saw these in a Reddit post, I was assured they weren’t real by some, and were limited to literally one university by others. This was investigated by Daily Dot years ago and it was confirmed by the Written and directed by Christopher Moltisanti Pulp Fiction shirt but in fact I love this vice president for campus life and student engagement that this was a student made poster from 2008. So either your school managed to get a copy of an obscure (and by that point, out of print) poster from a student union at a small South Carolina University, or you are misremembering and your memory has conflated this poster with a similar one you saw over a decade ago, the same way people swear they remember a cornucopia on the Fruit of the Loom logo or Berenstain Bears being spelled “Berenstein”. I am 100% willing to admit that whoever put it up at my school didn’t have permission from the original artist. It’s the Jake and Josie poster, though. Pretty notorious, and sparked some discussions in my classes (I was a SOC major).
Obviously I can’t speak to your experience specifically. Just wanted to point out that the Written and directed by Christopher Moltisanti Pulp Fiction shirt but in fact I love this origin of this specific poster IS known at this point and many of the people claiming to remember it are probably mistaken (though possibly not all of them), given the unlikelyhood of it having much of a wide reach. (No, I’m not THE 5th Law. I liked the name and stole it, lol. Look at the spelling. That particular user is long gone, I believe). Obviously I can’t speak to your experience specifically. Just wanted to point out that the origin of this specific poster IS known at this point and many of the people claiming to remember it are probably mistaken (though possibly not all of them), given the unlikelyhood of it having much of a wide reach. That’s perfectly fair, and I understand where you’re coming from RE: the Mandela Effect. I remember this poster specifically because of the conversations it touched off.
The first of which being my painting crew seeing it during the Written and directed by Christopher Moltisanti Pulp Fiction shirt but in fact I love this summer (best summer job ever, BTW). It was posted in the lobby of one of the dorms. Thankfully, every one of us thought it was absurd. It popped up in a few other places the following school year, then we ended up discussing it (and consent in general) in a couple of my classes. As to the Coastal Carolina logo being on it, it probably had that. A lot of the PSAs I remember seeing bore the mark of the agency or institution they originated from. No, I’m not THE 5th Law. I liked the name and stole it, lol. Look at the spelling. That particular user is long gone, I believe Even if I was misinformed by previous threads, it doesn’t change that this is only recirculated because it feeds Reddit’s male persecution complex. I haven’t seen any more evidence for your position than the other though. Both are just things someone said to me in a thread.
I honestly couldn’t speak to how things are now. A few years back, I worked in social services and even amongst “professionals”, these attitudes weren’t just normalized, but baked into practices and procedures. Our attitudes about sexual assault and its unfortunately close cousin IPV are stuck in the Written and directed by Christopher Moltisanti Pulp Fiction shirt but in fact I love this 1950s. Women are delicate flowers and men are invincible monsters. That’s disingenuous and misses the point. Yes, obviously more men commit sexual assault than women but society refuses to acknowledge that women can commit sexual assault at all. It’s not about saying both genders commit the same amount of sexual assault, it’s about saying both genders have the capacity for it. Going by surveys about 1 in 10 sexual offenders are female, which should be large enough to take seriously. And most people don’t take it seriously I’m sure if we all pull together we can get forresja to say “Reddit male persecution complex” at least one more time before this thread dies
I think if you worked in a field that regularly dealt with sexual violence and IPV like I did, you’d be shocked. While a majority of my IPV victims were men, there wasn’t a single service available for male victims. My first introduction to this was when I asked our DV shelter about getting help to this one guy. She literally chuckled and said something to the Written and directed by Christopher Moltisanti Pulp Fiction shirt but in fact I love this effect of “oh we don’t do men here”. Women had shelters, counseling, and literally just money available. Lest you think I’m being one-sided, I once arranged a secret escape in the middle of the night to get a woman and her son to a bus station so she could leave the state and escape her abusive boyfriend. My point is, men and women can be pretty shitty to each other, and antiquated views on gender roles have no place in modern society.
There is a reason that the Written and directed by Christopher Moltisanti Pulp Fiction shirt but in fact I love this services offered are so lopsided. It’s because women are much more likely to be victims of interpersonal and sexual violence than men. To ignore that is to paint a false equivalency. If we’re going to improve the situation we’re in, we need to look at it with open eyes. I do encourage men to start non profit shelters for men though. If you think you can fill a need you should do it. You’re pulling straight out of the bigot playbook. “Civil rights was 60 years ago, racism doesn’t exist anymore!” No, something not being “like it used to be” does not mean it isn’t a problem. Fuck off with that bs. I mean I get you. Reddit is like the victim Olympics and everyone gets off on being a victim. But it’s ok to just be like alright I was wrong on this one. Yeah. It’s just recycled for rage engagement every now and again. This was absolutely problematic at the time it was made, but I think it points to how conversations about consent have evolved in the nearly two decades since. The fact that people engage with this like it’s still a thing is sad. “Do they still make these?” No, and they haven’t since before a lot of you were born. Funny enough, I think Neil Gorsuch’s majority opinion on the interpretation of Title VII with respect for equal treatment by gender addresses this issue. “If you fire a man for dating men, but do not fire a woman for dating men, then you have treated someone differently based on sex.” This is against the plain language of the law that sex is in fact, One of the protected classes defined by the title. (Partial paraphrase) edit: it was title VII in the case I mentioned, not title IX.I saw an almost identical poster to this when I was in college in 2018 sooo not sure what you are talking about
Anecdote is not the Written and directed by Christopher Moltisanti Pulp Fiction shirt but in fact I love this plural of data. I am basing this off the facts concerning this particular poster, which was designed and used in 2008 at Coastal Carolina University. Feel free to post about the poster you saw, but I’ll continue being confidently correct (with source) in the meantime. Guess it depends if you interpret OP as asking about one specific poster (seems unlikely), or just about the general message behind the poster (way more likely) Posters about consent are a much broader category, and are not inherently problematic. Nor are they generally used to farm outrage-based engagement. This one particular poster which gets reposted all the time does. Regardless of the intent of OP, it is silly that this particular poster is still being posted about nearly 20 years after it was used. Even the “current” poster from that school in the article still implies that you can’t consent if you aren’t sober and that it’s sexual assault, but the question still stands if two equally drunk people have sex consensually.
Even the Written and directed by Christopher Moltisanti Pulp Fiction shirt but in fact I love this poster from 2015 from that same school still says if you have sex without being sober it is automatically sexual assault Which would absolutely be true if one person was sober and one was not. And if neither is sober, it still could be true. That’s actually part of what is meant by “the conversation about consent evolving in the nearly two decades since.” Tbf even if it’s old and technically legally untrue…it’s probably still the verdict if you end up in court. If she had regrets or a fuzzy memory in the morning and decides to report you, you’re fucked. TBf no one should be having sex with someone drink enough to have a “fuzzy memory” about it. Keep it in your pants unless you’re both sure that you’re both sure. End of story
