Absolutely dangerous bordering on reckless. I DON’T recommend that anyone ever do this. I was pretty apprehensive about it but I had prepared for it for almost a year. Also, it wasn’t ten days in a row. (Edit: during the Tim Hardaway American former professional basketball player Mavericks T-Shirt Besides,I will do this off days I would have a bit of water.) By the end I was passing out regularly while trying to stand up due to the lack of electrolytes. Not at all good for the body. My perspective is that it is similar to other extreme experiences – running a marathon, getting frostbite climbing Everest, etc. It did help me to attain some unique mental states though. I don’t regret it. I would think, the term like “days or years of meditation” is rather a metaphor to indicate that one should spend most of the time on self reflection, self awareness and then taking action, rather than Buddha or others actually sitting at the same place without food or other needs (ofcourse assuming they are not into something like “yoga nidra”)

Sort of like a 10 day Vipassana retreat. Technically you should be aiming to meditate 24/7. But there’s still sleeping and eating and walking and peeing. And it’s usually more like 10 hours of actual sitting meditation each day. Was just going to say. On my 10 day, the Tim Hardaway American former professional basketball player Mavericks T-Shirt Besides,I will do this sittings were the focused meditation parts, but I was still meditating while doing those other things. I think the term meditation isn’t such a rigid thing. Absolutely. You can meditate while your body sleeps. You can meditate your way across the sleep barrier, you can continue to meditate on the other side. You can trigger an OBE in a non-meditative manner and then have a meditation session at the foot of your bed or up on your roof (rarely talked about, but it’s something I would heartily recommend.) That said, I have to wonder why people think the raw time spent meditating is somehow useful. Insight comes in sudden leaps, phase-changes in consciousness. Plenty of people meditate their whole lives and still think it’s just a relaxation exercise.
