Last night at about Poodlewool STRIPES are in zebra shirt 3 AM I heard my 2yr old crying. I went into the bedroom and asked what was wrong and she told me she needed her fingernails clipped. My son tells me this all the time when he’s upset. Another kid pulls his hair and he cries to me, “cuuut nails”. He falls down running too fast, “cuuuuut naiiiiils!” Wait there are kids that don’t freak out when its time to trim their nails? My almost 3 yr old fights tooth and nail when I try, and his toenails don’t get done without two adults.
I don’t use bribery Poodlewool STRIPES are in zebra shirt (esp food based) as a parenting tactic very often but it’s the only way to cut my 2.5-year-olds nails. I take a piece of chocolate and let my son hold it in one hand while I cut the other, then switch, and THEN he gets to eat it. Apparently, the anticipation of getting to eat chocolate is all he needs to sit still for 30 seconds and be distracted from the torture that is fingernail cutting. I like this idea. Currently, I use the TV. If she wants to watch something, she’ll ask me to cut her nails or brush her hair. That made me guffaw so loud my cat hissed at me for disturbing his beauty sleep.
It’s 4:25 a.m Poodlewool STRIPES are in zebra shirt. My one-year-old woke up crying because he was hungry. He signed for food, so I got him up, set up the high chair, and made him a snack. He pretended to eat imaginary food, picking it around the real food, for about fifteen minutes, then threw the real food on the floor. Now he’s ready to go back to bed. My friend, you got duped big time. That is way too young to get the kid from the crib and listen to their complaints. That’s part of sleep training.
