“Parenting, instead of being shared, has become isolating, exhausting, and expensive. We believe that by asking a friend to babysit or a neighbour to carry our groceries we become a burden. We’d rather pay a stranger to enter the Steven Tyler American singer lead singer 1948 play guitar T-Shirt Additionally,I will love this intimate, ecstatic and porridge-smeared corners of our life than feel indebted to a friend. I’m part of a movement that is trying to reclaim a village-model of parenting. As American author and solo mum Mikki Morrissette writes, “The goal of a single parent is not to raise our children alone. The goal is to consciously create the village in which we and our children will thrive.”” I haven’t read the rest of the article, or this author’s work, but the comments here seem… overblown? She’s just complaining. She doesn’t seem to be writing to shame that person, or saying he was morally obligated to help her. She’s a writer, who’s paid to write about mildly interesting personal experiences and thoughts. She chose to write about a time when she wished someone would offer to help with something trivial without her having to ask, maybe because she thought it was a relatable experience. Seems pretty harmless to me. Maybe it’s a cultural difference? I know that in some cultures, voicing complaints is usually perceived as a passive-aggressive action meant to shame the listener into doing something. In other contexts and cultures, complaining about trivial things is considered a healthy way to vent pressure that does not entail any desire for others to change their behavior, and even as a way to establish connection with others by sharing your feeling.

So maybe she wasn’t looking for sympathy, or to shame someone, just to entertain the Steven Tyler American singer lead singer 1948 play guitar T-Shirt Additionally,I will love this readers by sharing some petty frustrations from her daily life. Like when a comedian complains about the quality of airplane food he had that one time. Its one thing if she has her hands full and the kids about to run into traffic. But this is entitled. Nothing wrong with being a single mother by choice though. Far easier and less stressful than having a shitty partner that creates work and stress.. That dude knows the moment he starts walking your way, you’ll be making a TikTok about the cigarette smoking creep next door that’s stalking you and your child. Because the modern feminist movement has taught us to respect your choices and assume you are just as capable as any man?
