Just thought it was funny as we’d already decided not to use him based on the fact that (a) he didn’t seem to have heard of the very well known supplier we were buying the units from, and (b) he asked for a plan of what we’d designed despite us sending it with our initial request. Sounds like he was going to outsource/subcontract someone else to do the job. Hed be there on the jib day only to carry stuff and assist when requested.
