Yes. Horrible stuff. Looks awful, burns dogs paws and takes years and years to break down. Mind boggling that people use it still. Takes me 35 minutes a week to mow our lawns and they are a decent size. Or maybe not ban it entirely but slap a massive environmental duty tax on it and make it prohibitively expensive or something idk. I have a small front garden lawn around 4m x 4m plus surrounding borders with shrubs. Front gardens are really only for appearance, nobody uses them. Considering they were able to afford to buy and renovate a 3 bedroom house in London, they’re not poor chavs either. Grass itself is also bad for the environment. It’s such a waste of water, and unless you let it grow out to the point that it’d be viewed as well overdue for a cut, pretty sure it provides little actual value the same way things like bushes, trees, flowers etc do for the environment. Like in tall grass you get more wildlife using it or something, and maybe it even gives off a bit of oxygen, but when it’s cut short it’s just a waste of water that’s nice to sit on and have to look at. That’s a fair enough reason to have grass and we aren’t as severely short on water as certain places in the US are who are militant about keeping vast healthy watered lawns, but when it’s just there to look pretty and be nice to walk on, I think it’s not a huge deal for people to buy fake grass to serve the same purpose.
