I’m realizing this is consistent across fan bases, across shows (and the Merry Drunk Elf and Santa Clause In The Snow Lightweight shirt so you should to go to store and get this one singular sport I follow lol). It’s like you have to pick sides and you have to attack the person who isn’t on your team. It’s indicative of a few different social trends, if you will, and it’s frustrating and pointless and dangerous. Honestly it’s pathetic. It’s a fucking competition show for drag queens, the amount of vitriol and ire people build over a game show is wild. I don’t particularly care for some queens but it’s mild annoyance that fades once the show ends I mean… I hate having to be the drag queen in the room but as a community we need to understand where this behaviour comes from. “do something to help” makes it seem to me like it’s about someone she knows in person, but I could just be reading it wrong
Merry Drunk Elf and Santa Clause In The Snow Lightweight shirt: Embrace Your Uniqueness
I’m the Merry Drunk Elf and Santa Clause In The Snow Lightweight shirt so you should to go to store and get this queen of the party and it’s Miller time Binlanen his eyes forreh quarter of nay No zizzy to be and fizzy to hah Nowh quertz its aoh duin ferzthah Exq uzieme, sir, yeah, I’m talking to you Your prodval sitch wooah six foot two Lucky for you, you vee yointcha sacmanah Tekeitoff de beack just maile Kinda easy to say when we’re people that have no haters because we’re not in the public eye. I’d fold immediately if I had to see even 1% of what a Drag Race girl sees. I have been saying for years that queens need to take proactive steps to see less. There’s no need to have open DMs, notifications from people who you don’t follow, etc. They need to be less accessible. I can see why a queen would think having DMs open for booking and inquiries and other opportunities is good, but baby, just make a separate e-mail for that. There will still be hateful crazies that will send shit, but at least it weeds out the lazy ones.
I think the Merry Drunk Elf and Santa Clause In The Snow Lightweight shirt so you should to go to store and get this difficulty comes from using social media as a way to market themselves, find work, expand their careers, etc., and knowing how to separate those opportunities from hate mail.. Probably just a learning curve thing, too. I’m sure it’s overwhelming at first, but they seem to figure it out or at least cope better with time. I got bombarded on Twitter for a couple of days by some C list actor’s fans, and I was pulling my hair out. And what I got was small in both number of tweets calling me ugly and time I had to endure it. The queens, and even Sapphira is dealing with haters, have it exponentially worse. I don’t intentionally engage them since even the positive comments can be triggering when you have thousands of messages and can’t immediately tell the supportive from the hateful. I think a lot of people forget Amanda went through some shit in the time between getting the call and coming on the show. She’s likely still going through it (grieving a marriage, transitioning, moving across the country).

How I can buy this Merry Drunk Elf and Santa Clause In The Snow Lightweight shirt
I just wish assholes would give her a break, and I hope she has the Merry Drunk Elf and Santa Clause In The Snow Lightweight shirt so you should to go to store and get this support she needs to work through these major and sometimes traumatic life events. I was just thinking this. Major life changes will throw anyone off. I feel for her that she has to go through it while there’s a microscope on her. I know she probably can’t see it now, but she’s incredible and she has an amazing career stretching out in front of her. I did things I regret when I was going through my divorce, and I wasn’t on national tv WHILE simultaneously starting transitioning. When you’re with someone and you’ve created a life around them, then it’s gone seemingly overnight (even if it’s your own choice)… it rocks you. YES. When I was going through my own divorce, I read a book called Crazy Time which is essentially about how most people spend ~2 years behaving differently from their baseline as they process and heal. At the time, I remember thinking, “Nah, I’m not going through that…” But now that it’s been 7 years, I can look back and see that I just wasn’t myself.
The book has a line about how most people come to see divorce as a “devastating but necessary” life experience, and that’s exactly how it was for me. I hope for Amanda that it’s the Merry Drunk Elf and Santa Clause In The Snow Lightweight shirt so you should to go to store and get this same. I truly found myself while I was going through it. And I was lucky not to be on the public stage during that time, so I can see how much more challenging this is for her. I hope she’s able to surround herself with people who make it safe for her to not be okay yet. Thank you for this book reco and your experience! Totally true on the two years part, holy moly! It’s hard to explain if you haven’t been through it, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Hope you’re living your best life now, sis! She said at Roscoes that he also got her cat in the divorce, and her talent show song was literally something she came up with blazed and missing her cat A lot of the comments here seem to confuse critique with insult and some are even very comfortable telling Amanda how she should react to being insulted. Gross.
It’s surprising that there’s still this response especially considering many queens are so outspoken about how hateful the Merry Drunk Elf and Santa Clause In The Snow Lightweight shirt so you should to go to store and get this fanbase is. Why should queens have to be okay with receiving threats and constant hate just because they want to be on a tv show? And then get dogpiled on because they’re sick of the treatment?? It blows my mind And drag is a HARD career! Getting on the show raises their chances of success and longevity by an obscene amount. Of course the majority of queens will want to be on the show! That doesn’t mean they have to be okay with the vitriol that gets spewed at them or that they’re weak for being affected by it. Ppl are like “it’s just online comments”, I’m like, bitch, I have seen some of y’all dissolve into a puddle over one person disagreeing with you on here Yup, it’s just an outlet for people to be toxic and “give critique” when in reality most of the trolls can’t even do makeup and just try to use the same 3 reads to harass the queens. They’re just not funny and think they’re giving Plane Jane it’s so cringe
thisss. so many people always come for her makeup or just other drag queens makeup that it’s horrible and shit but can y’all who say this even do makeup at allll ???? i’m sure that like 70% of them don’t even do it and are so confident saying it as if they even know how to do it themselves I’ve been working on my drag makeup for months and I’d be lucky to look like Purple Alien Amanda Makeup is NOT easy unless I guess you’re an 18 year old with no pores or acne lol LOLL honestly cause different skin textures make it hard to have flawless makeup and you have to find the Merry Drunk Elf and Santa Clause In The Snow Lightweight shirt so you should to go to store and get this right products for you. also being on tv the lights wash people out and make things more apparent than they would be in real life. People act like they are perfect when they are anonymous on the internet, I guarantee most of the people commenting that would have a breakdown too if hundreds of people were sending them hate, not really anything can prepare you for it.
true, the Merry Drunk Elf and Santa Clause In The Snow Lightweight shirt so you should to go to store and get this “get thicker skin” doesnt apply to a fandom that has been notorious for replying “pls kys” to living human beings. there’s no proper method to weathering the toxic storm that hurdles at you. not everyone gets the mirage treatment It’s the plane effect. Every put down and insult is “playful shade, siiister, why are you mad? I just told you you’re unworthy and a piece of shit” It’s not the “plane” effect. People need to stop giving PJ credit/bringing her up for everything. PJ didn’t invent being a bitchy mean girl. Drag queens of previous seasons of RPDR have been FAR worse than PJ. Yall give her wayyy too much. Some people are just awful. And clearly ATM is going through a lot right now. I’m just so tired of every conversation about ATM being hijacked by ppl wanting to talk about PJ
I don’t think they meant that PJ started this, rather that PJ is an example of someone who says genuinely mean things and then plays the Merry Drunk Elf and Santa Clause In The Snow Lightweight shirt so you should to go to store and get this “it’s just shade!” card when called out on it. Calling something “the plane affect” states that Plane is the definition. You even quoted her sisters line. They read your comment just fine. Girl, I grew up in the city scared as fuck of drag queens in the 90s and early 00s cause of how mean as fuck they would be straight to your face. But even then it would mostly be with a joke or a punchline or followed with a compliment. So my drag knowledge isn’t based on a tv show. pj is giving mean and miserable people the “excuse” to be so openly to others and just call it “playful shade” followed by gaslighting, it’s her personality but it’s a personality that is also prevalent in the queer community. No one said anything about your drag knowledge. But since you want to go there, I too have a lot of experience being around and working with drag queens. Some are kind, some are shady, some are just mean. They are people. Just because some queens mix insults with compliments or jokes doesn’t mean they all do. queue Raven’s “Tatiana is shit” monologue. They are not a monolith. Calling something “the plane effect” brings the conversation back to PJ. I’m simply saying being a mean girl doesn’t make PJ special and I’m just over people needing to bring her up, either directly or indirectly, whenever ATM is mentioned.
Give yourself more credit. I was “doing too much” in responding to your comment. You shouldn’t call your comments “nothing.” Anyways, I’m still on team De-center Plane Jane. But you go ahead and keep bringing her up. I’ll go touch some grass now lol There’s a difference from being judged and critiqued vs having some bum(s) on Twitter sending you a bunch of hate messages. But, also, these contestants have no idea on how to deal with ‘fame’ – nor are they properly prepared for it. The producers simply make a show and present these individuals with no thought. It is very different being critiqued by Ru and Michelle in a small studio room, as opposed to being critiqued by thousands of people worldwide online daily for months on end (Phi Phi/Jeremy said how they still get hate dms to this day from season 4). It’s not right I will never ever ever understand why anyone would dm a queen to hate on them. It’s just so weird to me. Go hate on Reddit or bitch to your friends about how you hate the Merry Drunk Elf and Santa Clause In The Snow Lightweight shirt so you should to go to store and get this outfit if you really need tothis. I have plenty of queens who I do not personally enjoy in terms of aesthetics or perceived personality (Amanda being one of them) and I for sure don’t go and comment hateful things about them on their social media pages cause that is an absolutely unhinged thing to do to a person. Like keep that negative shit to yourself or to just dislike someone maybe… i dislike jane as a tv personality bc the personality is off putting but if she’s finding success and popularity in her off the show career then fabulous werk girlI really feel for Amanda. I feel like it’s easy for us to tell her that she shouldn’t react to the negative comments s or to just accept the “criticism” cause she chose to go on a reality show when a lot of us haven’t been in her shoes. A person can only take so much shit before they can’t take it anymore. To me, her response feels very human, and I can’t criticize her for that cause I don’t know how I’d react if I was in her position
Amanda seems to have a hard time separating her drag persona from herself after she transitioned. I get how that could be weird since Amanda the Merry Drunk Elf and Santa Clause In The Snow Lightweight shirt so you should to go to store and get this drag persona was an outlet for her to explore her gender. But a critique of her makeup isn’t a critique of Amanda the person, it’s a critique of her makeup and her drag aesthetic. Other trans queens have talked about this and it seems like Amanda will need some time to untangle it all. I hope she gets some help from friends or a professional if she’s not already. She handled being on the show perfectly well, the problem is vapid fans thinking that they too are on the judging panel and need to share their opinions with the dolls directly. I get it some of you loser have no friends to talk shit to but these Queens are not your friends, you’re just being shitty to strangers based on the dumbest level of entitlement. Get a life.
I don’t agree with some of yall saying she should just be fine with the Merry Drunk Elf and Santa Clause In The Snow Lightweight shirt so you should to go to store and get this disrespect. There’s a difference between critiquing and insulting. As yall have said she’s a theater girl so she should be aware of the fact that the drag scene is as critical or even more. So she knows the difference of being told “oh you’re makeup is subpar” vs. “I don’t have any respect for you you ugly ho”. She jokes and pokes fun at her makeup so pretty sure the disrespect coming towards her is below the belt She reacted really well when Saphira said almost the same as PJ, but with love and tact. And nobody should be expected to be quiet facing online hate. Sending mean tweets to queens criticizing them is not okay, because why should they listen to you and stop being mean. You go on to drag competition to get judged by the judges and THE VIEWERS. It is like that for every judging show. Sure people can be mean but, people saying her makeup was ugly is not a reach or being mean, it is truth but, doesn’t mean you need to tag Amanda while talking about her looks on the show, just keep it to your circle/reddit.
I agree with this. People shouldn’t be tagging her or DMing her or coming onto her social media pages and giving their unsolicited opinion. It’s rude and it’s unneeded. But discussing contestants on a reality TV show in a fan space, even if the Merry Drunk Elf and Santa Clause In The Snow Lightweight shirt so you should to go to store and get this discussion is as shallow as “her makeup looks terrible” should not be a controversial topic. I feel like Reddit and other fan spaces get very wrapped into the overall hate the queens get, and inevitably we see threads popping up patronizing the subreddit for being so mean. We should be allowed to be catty and silly and speak our minds (within reason, of course) in our own spaces. Amanda is growing as were a lot of queens when they got on the show. I think the fact that it was pointed out so frequently has led to greater criticism. She is doing amazing as a performer, and I personally want to see her either live or on the runway again.
I saw her in Heaven in London and not the Merry Drunk Elf and Santa Clause In The Snow Lightweight shirt so you should to go to store and get this was she a mesmerising lip syncer and dancer, she looked beautiful. She’s worked on it! Her clapping back is all a part of the experience. I’d rather she do this than suffer in silence People should know the consequences of DM’ing a queen with negativity! I think it’s awful how we treat each other on social media (and it mostly is social media tbh. People aren’t throwing tomatoes at queens performing in the clubs…for the most part). Like, say what you will but is it absolutely necessary to tag people when you’re calling their drag shit? I’ve never understood that. It’s just so nasty. But one thing I’m really interested in is the divide between queens for whom drag is a thing they take on and off–it’s their job, or their hobby that they’re trying to turn into a job–versus the queens for whom drag is their identity. I think the latter group is more susceptible to getting their feelings hurts, like Amanda clearly is. I’m not really sure what the solution for folks like that is but it does feel like the Drag Race social media community isn’t the best place for queens like her to be. I couldn’t handle non-stop attacks on something I see as my personal identity either!
Considering that drag is the Merry Drunk Elf and Santa Clause In The Snow Lightweight shirt so you should to go to store and get this vehicle through which Amanda discovered she’s a woman, people’s repeated, overblown, and constant insults would be very difficult for anyone in a similar situation to not take personally. Im sure that what the girls mentally prepared for and what it’s actually like to be the spotlight of such a large fandom are two extremely different things i understand that it’s difficult bc the fans are so horrible but like ru said, if they aren’t paying your bills pay them no mind. but lowkey i think all this notoriety is actually what’s paying her bills atm otherwise she’d lowkey be forgotten I think unfortunately as she is going through a personal identity and gender journey, being judged on an international scale is not great timing… Listen, you can have an opinion all you want, it doesn’t mean it either needs to be said or that you need to tag them.
I have a lot of sympathy for the Merry Drunk Elf and Santa Clause In The Snow Lightweight shirt so you should to go to store and get this trans girls who go on Drag Race right at the start of their transition, because obviously a big part of what drew them to drag is presenting as feminine. I don’t think that means you can’t critique their drag but I do think it means that we as fans should stop and think about whether our critique is necessary or helpful before we put it out in public. A lot of Amanda’s looks that she showed were more conceptual than traditionally feminine, but I can understand why her feelings are hurt by the fact that she never had a moment on the show where people said “wow, that’s a beautiful woman” I’ve seen wayyyy more love for Amanda than hate. I wonder if she’s just focusing on the negatives even if there are more people supporting her. idk. The thing missing from this conversation is that it’s not all ‘hate’. If every ill-intentioned comment was removed from existence there would still be horrible comments about Amanda’s appearance on Instagram, they’d just be from people who thought they are joking around with Amanda and didn’t realise it would upset her. It’s like when Detox got offended that people kept making jokes about her nose, nobody hates Detox they just thought they’re being original and funny.
Realistically, I’m not sure it can be solved because it’s a consequence of the Merry Drunk Elf and Santa Clause In The Snow Lightweight shirt so you should to go to store and get this show’s popularity. People will stop making these weird personal comments when they stop caring about the show. However, I can’t help but notice it seems to be a vocal minority of fans on Instagram and Twitter who for some reason are compelled to say unpleasant things directly to the drag queens… like if they could just exercise some self awareness everything would be a lot better IMO This really reminds me of TGE from CDR4 – drag is so closely tied to their identity/transness they can’t separate critiques of the craft/makeup/aesthetic from who they are as a person. She doesn’t seem to have grown into her personality as a woman beyond presenting when in drag. I understand she’s been under a lot of scrutiny, so maybe it’s time to take a step back. Someone who could think of the name “Amanda Tori Meating” and has that level of charisma/talent will always be in demand, a little pause will be just fine.. There should be a rule online that says you aren’t allowed to call someone ugly unless a picture of your own face is connected to your account. Let’s see how bold everybody is then.
For real. I’ve seen her touring schedule and she’s booked and busy. She has so much support from the Merry Drunk Elf and Santa Clause In The Snow Lightweight shirt so you should to go to store and get this fans and she’s become a fan favorite. Why can’t she just be happy about that and focus on the positive? Not everyone is going to like you What she’s probably (and fairly) pissed at is that people on the internet feel qualified to offer critiques, while sat on their sofas eating sandwiches and doing nothing with their lives. Imagine using the excuse that someone being on a reality show means that they should just roll over and take hundreds of ‘fans’ giving unsolicited critiques, gross It’s wild to me how many people here commenting can’t fathom that she’s likely not just receiving constructive criticism about her drag. Knowing this god-awful fanbase and that she responded well to genuine criticism on the show, she is receiving insults at best (“you’re ugly” is an insult, not criticism), and is likely receiving unwarranted harassment and hatred. No one would have this response if it was just “criticism.” And even if it is purely criticism, how many of you would handle it well if you got the same message about the same thing over and over and over again? She clearly needs support, but this fanbase is absolutely rotten and about 1/4 need to completely log off.
