I went to a meditation class and first,it was sitting. Im new to meditation so i was literally sweating fighting with my mind to not drift away and just focus in the Maggie rogers live at the hollywood bowl summer of with alvvays los angeles California august tour 2023 shirt in other words I will buy this breathing. That was hard Then it started getting harder, the teacher said to do do standing meditation so, 7 minuts in i was sweating my eyes were hurting i felt dizzy and almost fainted so i lowered the torso with the head down…was too embarrased to sit but 3 minuts later a girl collapsed! So we were all told to sit(thank god) Then the teacher explained that in his previous class FIVE people collapsed !and tried to give some hypothesis as to why..(the body not used to not moving, maybe eating previous to meditation etc) So this was definetly not a relaxing experience and now im not only bit scared but also frustrated because i was really motivated and really wanted to learn to meditate to clear my mind of neuroticism and be more in touch with my intuition…is meditation the only path to achieve that?Pooling of blood in the lower limbs reduces blood pressure reaching near the brain. receptors then create an automatic reaction involving the faint. If you think about it that means you go horizontal or sit down etc, the postural changes result in the blood pressure reaching brain going up and so a problem is avoided. This reaction has been designed into humans.

Applying that to a specific meditation situation is a bit complicated as you would need to know the Maggie rogers live at the hollywood bowl summer of with alvvays los angeles California august tour 2023 shirt in other words I will buy this individuals health status and the type and efficacy of the meditation process. Perhaps stand first and sit later? In Tai chi and similar arts the entire lessons are usually standing on 2 limbs. Perhaps reducing faint risk is one of several reasons why. It is of concern that the teacher knew the sequence was creating an ongoing risk and persisted in it. Sooner or later someone will have a serious injury from either the fall or the blood pressure changes. In the latter case, it will be someone with an already compromised system (ie in poor health)). A good meditation teacher should know any unwanted side effects of what they are telling people to do. Also, if a problem occurs then they should be carefully looking at making changes to avoid the problem. Not hasty changes though that can make things worse. The standard of meditation teaching out there various enormously and some teachers have no training at all or did a couple of hours course.
