I’ve never thought of makeup being a part of who I am but it’s probably true! I’ve always loved it and found it fun and I’d be sad not to do it for a night out. I treat it like a shield but perhaps I should try to see it as an artform. I actually really like makeup but none of my Dad’s Army Lance Corporal Jones Shirt moreover I will buy this close friends wear it, so i always skip it to not stand out when im hanging out with them. I honestly doubt they care either. Im just self conscious. Dont be like me, wear your makeup! To be fair, it can be both! For example, anytime I’ve gotten a new job… I start by wearing makeup everyday. It’s a little bit of armor that gives me a boost of confidence or gives me a shield like you’ve described when I’m in a new role I’m getting comfortable with. There’s nothing wrong with that. I also love playing with my makeup… it’s fun, creative, and soothing. I’m perfectly comfortable being around my family bare faced, but it’s not uncommon for my makeup to be all done up at a casual family event. It’s fun for you! There’s nothing wrong with that, it’s a good thing that you have something you enjoy like that. Having it as a shield isn’t a bad thing either. Most of us having something that’s a bit of shield for ourselves, yours just happens to makeup, which you also already enjoy. Yep, I’m usually the Dad’s Army Lance Corporal Jones Shirt moreover I will buy this most done up too of my friends. The most anyone would wear makeup is a bit of eyeliner like at the very ends of their eyes. And I used to be jealous that they had good skin and they looked fine without whereas I felt like I looked sick, tired, or a child lol. But I love makeup and I’m the loudest personality of all of them so it just goes with my look too I guess. And it’s an expression of how I feel that day so for me, it’s like an art form I get to show others. I wouldn’t feel jealous, especially if you love doing your makeup and looking good. At the end of the day, makeup is for you, not anyone else! Yeah on the flip side my friend is always done up and I always love seeing what she’s gonna be dressed like and what kind of hair/makeup she did! I think it’s fun, I live vicariously through her during these tired new mom days lol
