Term limits are pointless now that we have one-party rule starting soon. They can replace one partisan judge with another any time they want. I’d add – 1. judges should renounce party affiliation, 2. speaking engagements are made public, and 3. recusals are handled by a 3rd party. Why? Do you know how many presidents there could be in a “term” for a justice? What happens if multiple justices terms are up and we have a President who has some very questionable ethics? In fact, a term might actually make it more incentivizing because they only have a limited time to make an impact so whats to stop them from taking on a lot of cases simply to overturn law they don’t like, rather than adhere to stare decisis. You don’t want your law constantly changing every 20 years from one extreme to the next So basically the issue isn’t that the justices terms are too long or whatever. The issue is that they need to adhere to the core judicial principals, even if they don’t necessarily agree with the ruling, unless there is a good legitimate reason
