If this is the Awesome my Favorite Place is the Public Library Books T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this case, wouldn’t it be better for OP’s dad to just specify amounts or % directly to the grandkids in his will, rather than the 50/50 split and then leaving it to his kids to make the further split? As I understand he is still alive so it could be changed. This is a very strange will as per your description or you might have misunderstood/the will is poorly drafted. If the will states that you receive 50/50 and the direct beneficiaries are to hold 10% of that amount for each child, then you are not entitled to a true 50/50 split because you would not be entitled to a part of your inheritance as you must hold it on trust for your respective children (if they are under 18, they would be minor beneficiaries and they cannot inherit from a will directly). It may have been your parent(s) intention to do so but it an odd way to go about it because most probate lawyers would make that clear in the drafting of the will. Also, practically it makes no sense because you wouldn’t be able to give your children the money in trust until they are 18. If you parent(s) gave you two the money absolutely, then you would be able to give your children the money directly without having to hold the money on trust until they become of age (which could give your children a right to sue you which I find incredibly amusing (and has happened many times in the past)). Not to mention the fact that your children would have to pay tax on the amount received under the will.

Awesome my Favorite Place is the Public Library Books T-Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

What I suspect may be the Awesome my Favorite Place is the Public Library Books T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this case here, and what is probably your sister’s argument, is that she reads the will to mean a gift of ”10% to my grandchildren” AND then divide on equal shares of the Residuary estate (meaning the remainder of the money in the estate AFTER gifts in the will have been made). The effect of this would be: There are waaaay too many issues with a clause like this but as you can see it lowers both your inheritance in favour of your children with your sister ”receiving” a larger share overall. To me, this type of clause makes much more practical sense and probably why your sister might disagree with how you read the terms of the will. I would advise you to seek a legal advice on this one and ask them to go through the will with you. I appreciate that your parent(s) will might be self-drafted or done online which may have caused some confusion between you and your sister. Is your father still alive? If he wanted his grandchildren to get an equal amount, it might be better off if he revises his will to divide things at the top level, rather than splitting things between you and then asking you to split off a share again of each half. Ultimately though, it is his choice to make.
