The only reason people think so highly of him is because he spent his last 30 years shaking and mumbling. He also became good friends with Frazier and they did amend their relationship in the later years. Yeah I know, but it shouldn’t be forgotten that Ali had flaws. He, at one point, harbored racist, black nationalist views. And what he did to Frazier was quite awful. But the most important thing is that he became a better man and regretted his past actions which caused many suffering. But never actually apologized to Frazier directly, and said he’s still a gorilla. That doesn’t sound like alot of regret. Guess I’ll get downvoted for this since everyone seems to hold Ali in the highest regard, but the more I learn about the guy the more respect I lose for him. Due to fawning over him in the later stages of his life due to his medical issues, many forget that Ali was a giant AH, most of his life. Dude could fight, for sure, but was still a world class AH.
