I got referred to a dermotologist for a mole and waited 18 months just for an appointment. America is great for healthcare if you have a well paid professional job or are the top 5%+ salary wise and pretty much worse for everyone below that. Your health expenditure is pretty much obscene globally. However it’s not all sunshine and rainbows either – it means longer waits etc and obviously higher taxes and in general the top 5% end off worse between private and tax.

But the Vintage Classic Angus Young T-Shirt moreover I love this reality is the high paid people can still pay out of pocket for that top tier healthcare and the lower income people just get better healthcare. When you’re on median salary or less (aka the majority of the country) you are never better off with the US system. Many western countries don’t use full universal care and have a statutory health insurance/government backed system that works much better than the US which is a form of middle ground between the two that also works very well, and in some ways better than true universal healthcare. Personally I would prefer that to a system with fully universal healthcare as someone from a country with it. But I would never live in the US with how it’s healthcare works now even as a top 3% household income in the UK. I can’t risk my life being tied to a job.
