Stupid take, I get that if someone can have a natural birth safely for both mother and child, go for it. Better to let nature take its course. But if there’s complications, it would simply be stupid to let anyone die when it’s easily avoidable. I didn’t want C sections either time. I felt like I was ‘robbed’ of that experience. But it’s what needed to be done for me & my babies. The upside was me & my babes were breastfeeding champions so I’m thrilled that I got to enjoy that special experience. It was amazing. My former best friend almost died due to pressure from her family to have a vaginal birth after c-section. Her c-section scar ripped open while she was in labor, and she needed like 3 different emergency surgeries. She needed an emergency c-section with her first due to him being breech and her labor not progressing properly. So because it was seen as a “fluke” by her family, they got it in her head that she needed to have a regular birth. That kind of shaming makes no sense to me at all. To clarify, I don’t doubt it happens, I’m just saying I can not even imagine something so dumb coming from another persons mouth ESPECIALLY a mothers. That’s because they know they’ll get bitched on if said in public. That’s why you only read it online. There are whole Facebook groups dedicated to mothers who did a vaginal birth without epidurals Tbf they have those groups because no one says it. Every single one of them were going to end up as “some kind of junkie” in adult life. The mothers who would do this are ignorant, cruel and selfish. She herself had pushed out six children with zero pain relief-and felt no pain at all. In fact, what a lot of “these brainwashed women don’t understand” was that “natural childbirth gives you an amazing natural high” and were some of the most beautiful experiences she’d ever had.
