Me and my sibling’s all have very short, 2 syllable names, and much to my mother’s dismay people kept asking if we have nicknames. People just really love to use nicknames, especially older people. It’s a sign of intimacy/closeness, or sometimes they just think it’s cuter especially if they’re a baby/young child.
