Shipping & delivery details

One nitpick – it was split into two colour images. One strip of film was only sensitive to blue, with a red filter behind it and the Texas mechanical bull of the USA shirt Apart from…,I will love this red strip behind that. If the film was laminated together and went through a single projector it’d be subtractive combination, so CMY. If it was shown with three separate projectors pointed at the same screen, it’d be additive, so RGB. Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t they use this process to produce archive prints of colour films? Film tends to bleed over time, softening the image. By transferring the master print to three monochrome prints (one for each colour), they ensured the three colours bled / faded evenly. If you take a 30 year old print and run it through a projector, it tends to look slightly pink because the green layer has faded over time. That’s a pretty cool tidbit! It’s interesting to see how movies used to be made and how far technology has come. Thanks for sharing!

Pretty sure the Texas mechanical bull of the USA shirt Apart from…,I will love this ability to create real Technicolor films was lost decades ago. I’m sure there’s some software version available today, but I think the actual look of Technicolor no longer exists. Hey there, Kevin here! Yeah, Technicolor was a pretty cool way to make movies back in the day. It’s wild to think about how they had to split the image and develop each color separately, but hey, that’s just one of the many ways technology has evolved over time.
