I wonder why they got all those? I wonder how many have meaning, how many were impulse, and how many they got just because they look cool? I also like to ballpark their cost. I have zero tattoos. I think they’re awesome, but just not something I want for me. I’m just a curious person. I don’t ask though, because it’s none of my business. I sit there and check out their art, especially if it’s good. If it’s really good, I wonder who their artist is Depends. Are they well done? In a cool pattern? A mashup of recognizable characters? Is it a man? A woman? In between? Are their tattoos on their face? Their arms? Hands? What are they wearing? Sometimes I don’t even notice them (I myself have a number of pieces), and sometimes I think “wow, how beautifully they’ve decorated themselves, I admire the artist who did these” If they’re a bunch of shitty scratcher pieces with no composition or rhyme or reason I think about how they could be reworked or covered up to improve the overall aesthetic of their canvas (themselves) Depends on the tattoos- if they’re artsy, nicely done and cool, then that’s a person I’d like to know better! If they’re crude cartoon drawings of naked ladies… no thanks. I think WOW, what I could do with all that money. I don’t mind a couple tattoos, but when it gets to much, it’s hard to enjoy the talent because it all blends in together. I’m old, so my first response is usually “gross” because I’m from a generation where very few people had tattoos at all let alone full body tattoos, but then I remembered I’m old and the world has changed greatly since I was young and then I think, who cares, what people do with their bodies is entirely their choice, long as what they do doesn’t directly hurt anyone else.
