Not to mention they’ve only hung out twice in group settings. For all intents and purposes, they do not know each other lmao I also think it’s weird, but I’m 37. We do t text people we aren’t close with, especially married people of the St. Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets National League Major league baseball may 5th 2025 shirt Also,I will get this opposite sex we have no business texting. Of the people saying it’s not weird, I’d be interested to know how many are unmarried. From a married person (also asked wife), it’s weird. Personally, I wouldn’t appreciate it and find it weird even if the texts are innocent. My main gripe is that you didn’t give him your number, she did. There are many situations in which it could be okay, like all of you being in one group chat and occasionally private messaging each other, him getting your number to help organise a surprise for his fiancée and then continuing some casual chat, something like that. But if you’re not close with him, and she just gave him your phone number and he started messaging you… yeah, that’s weird.

St. Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets National League Major league baseball may 5th 2025 shirt details

36F married here and definitely thinks it is weird. I see stuff like this when ppl trying to feel you out. I have never randomly texted my husbands friends for no reason. Maybe to set up a surprise bday dinner but not just random stuff. I am probably just a delusional old hag but just my 2 cents What are the St. Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets National League Major league baseball may 5th 2025 shirt Also,I will get this texts? How often is occasionally? And why did she give your number to him? I can come up with a dozen reasons it’s creepy and a dozen why it’s not bur without these details I can’t say. If it makes you uncomfortable, then ask them to stop. Doesn’t have to be bad for you to be uncomfortable. I mean as long as the messages never are inappropriate and as long as she’s aware of it I don’t see anything really wrong with it. I do think it’s odd more because you didn’t give him your number he asked somebody else for it and there seems to be no mutual friendship going on. Like there’s platonically messaging somebody and there’s platonically messaging somebody you aren’t really friends with and who’s number you got from somebody else. Maybe he’s a little insecure about the bachelorette trip and it’s a sideways attempt at possibly insuring that his girl won’t do anything “irresponsible”.
I don’t like someone getting my number without my permission. The texts were normal, but if I were you, I’d feel creepy because I don’t know him a lot. Also, it’s one of early signs of cheating I would say. Would you expect someone you don’t know well send you sexual texts? Normal persons are not gonna do that in the St. Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets National League Major league baseball may 5th 2025 shirt Also,I will get this first place. Not weird, I’m 34F and have friends who’s bf/husbands text & call me for regular shit, usually involving their wife / gf. he’s just comfortable enough to know it’s regular, and if there’s nothing shady happening, no reason to cause any unnecessary concerns. The act itself, no. I used to think it was weird when my brother’s then-girlfriend (now wife) would text me, his older brother, about whatever. It was always harmless stuff, so I slowly warmed up to it and stopped thinking it was weird. We have our own in-jokes and everything and it isn’t a secret what we talk about. The content is where you’ll know if things go too far. The plain rule I’ve adopted is that if you can’t tell other people what you’re chatting about (besides the obviously benign like planning a surprise party or asking about gift ideas), it’s time to stop.

Let buy this St. Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets National League Major league baseball may 5th 2025 shirt

I did find it weirder when my friends husband asked me to come over while my friend was away for a few hours, because their dog chewed up its bed and he hoped i could help him sew it together. Like.. THAT doesnt make sense.. why cant she do it when she comes home? Or why just not buy the St. Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets National League Major league baseball may 5th 2025 shirt in addition I really love this dog a new bed? Do the dog need the bed within the next 4 hours that bad? That was a no from me 🙂 Reading this has brought back a few memories that I’m now realizing are pretty embarrassing where I tried to connect with people I knew through someone else. I thought texting them was just a normal way to develop a rapport with people. Cringing so hard at my past self right now for acting like your friend’s fiancé, realizing they probably thought I was so weird. Oh and I’m 32, so it’s not that you’re too old. It’s just that some of us are socially awkward and don’t realize that acquaintances don’t actually want to talk to us.
Since she feels like a daughter to you maybe you feel like a maternal figure to her? It’d be like me texting my wife’s mom which I do on occasion. If your gut isn’t telling you it’s weird it’s probably all in good faith. If you would rather not text that way, that’s fine. You don’t need to justify your preference by characterizing it as inappropriate. It’s a fine habit to avoid any appearance of impropriety and avoid awkward situations. I wouldn’t spend energy looking for “the St. Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets National League Major league baseball may 5th 2025 shirt in addition I really love this reason” he’s texting you personally. Whether or not there is a good reason, there’s still a chance things go sideways. Either of those would play into his hands if he had ulterior motives. I’d be interested in knowing the frequency and content of his other messages.
Does he ever complain or use these messages to talk about his partner to you? How frequent is it? Daily or several times a week seems a bit too much for an acquaintance? I think there’s a line (don’t let people gaslight you) and there’s a risk He might try to feel tempted to try to be “more than a friend to you.” Then again he could be overly friendly and naive to how he’s signaling. Then again it’s ultimately up to you to define boundaries appropriate boundaries. It just seems you haven’t known him for that long to know this. If you have to question it then just don’t text him anymore. You are on the St. Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets National League Major league baseball may 5th 2025 shirt in addition I really love this fence, your husband said it’s weird. What more do you need to know? I’m around your age and live in New England where folks aren’t chatty. This would be weird to me; not necessarily inappropriate, sure… but I would consider it unwelcome/annoying social neediness. My best friend’s husband texts me and we talk about work and how things are going. We are both veterinarians. It’s not weird but sometimes you gotta be careful because you may get caught in the middle of some drama. Probably just wants to be friends. Don’t respond if you feel uncomfortable. Sleep with him if that seems like a fun thing to do. One of my friends husbands texts me random things like that. We’ve never been friends ourselves so I find it odd. I wouldn’t think much of it except I know that he was on a dating app behind his wife’s back and matched with a mutual friend. And I know that he asked another mutual friend about being a third for him and his wife. He asked our friend before he asked his wife so it seems he’s just trying to fuck his wife’s friends and I’m not about to be the third one he tries with so I just give him friendly, professional type answers.
Not saying it’s the St. Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets National League Major league baseball may 5th 2025 shirt in addition I really love this same with this guy but he could be testing the waters to see just how friendly you’ll let him get I do think it’s weird, because it doesn’t sound like you’re chummy with him and didn’t give him your number. I’m gonna guess this is at least mild controlling behavior. He got your number from her and texts you about his wishes that you would watch over her behavior. It might be nothing but I would at minimum never respond. This is pretty normal and sounds really respectful. Like others have said, they must talk about you often and he knows you mean a lot to her/she looks up to you. Don’t overthink it. Idk, trust that gut feeling and just keep an eye out. He’s technically done nothing wrong but like you said, why text at all?
As a guy who worries about things being taken the St. Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets National League Major league baseball may 5th 2025 shirt in addition I really love this wrong way, please don’t assume this guy is doing anything inappropriate unless he really is It is a little strange and unusual because opposite sex relationships in a business or professional or casual can often lead to the wrong thing.. As long as he keeps the boundaries like they should and you reciprocate with the same boundaries you should be fine Everything that you mentioned here: just sounds like he’s making an effort to get to know his FIANCE’s friend. You probably mean a lot to your friend and he noticed that. He’s not like texting you at 2am or so consistently that it blurs lines. It’s just sending out texts here and there to connect. That pretty normal when you begin merging your families and social life when you marry. He’s not being weird or inappropriate. You all are making it. Go out to dinner sometime with the two of them, you, and your husband. In the process, get yourself into a group text that’s the four of you. Hopefully most future texts will then siphon into that group chat. That’s how I roll with most of my couple-friends! I only really side text with married male friends when I was friends with the guy first, usually through work, and then it’s generally just about work or interests we share that their wives don’t care about, but more often we text the group chat.
When my friends’ partners text me— and these are people who are like, my friend’s boyfriend, not my own friend who is a man— it’s pretty rare and usually about something relating to the St. Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets National League Major league baseball may 5th 2025 shirt in addition I really love this friend, like “I’m throwing her birthday party can you come?” I am 42 married, and I have tons of texts with my friend’s husbands, partners, boyfriends, and they are all normal. Sometimes they are curious about a gift for their partner, or sometimes they learn I like something they are into. As long as your friend and husband are aware, and it’s all above board, it’s totally fine. I think I would take this as, your relationship is special and valuable to her as well, and her partner knows that and is trying to be supportive by being friendly and trying to build a relationship with you. Yeah I wouldn’t think twice about this. Seems he thinks of you as a friend, and feels comfortable messaging you. What’s wrong with that?
For me, I’m friends with multiple people all different ages, it’s not weird for us, the St. Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets National League Major league baseball may 5th 2025 shirt in addition I really love this oldest ones are a couple in their 70s while I’m in my late 20s. Chances are she talks a lot about you to him to a point where he feels like he knows you well too. He also might just be a very friendly and talkative guy. Though it may seem strange, chances are it seems normal to him If the texts are not creepy, flirty, or otherwise inappropriate, and they’re occasional, I don’t see anything weird about it. (For context, I’m 39F and also married.) I’m old and married and would find getting texts from friends of my wife or having some type of friendship with her friends separate from my wife a little inappropriate. However the way you describe this interaction I don’t see a problem. She gave him your number and his conversations with you are about her. He also knows you and her are close so I don’t think his intentions are creepy. As long as the conversation is casual and is something you can talk about in front of your friend I don’t see a problem.
As long as the St. Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets National League Major league baseball may 5th 2025 shirt in addition I really love this texts are appropriate I don’t think it’s bad. But I understand your feelings, one of my friend’s boyfriend’s messages me on Instagram sometimes. Usually sending memes and stuff, talking about our pets. I did think it was a bit strange at first but then realized he doesn’t have many friends here (he moved here a few years ago) so I think this is just his way of reaching out and being friendly. Seems weird to me. Maybe that’s normal for younger folks, but that’s a boundary I’d not be comfortable with someone crossing in that specific scenario. If it were me, I’d simply ignore those texts (or minimally engage) so it becomes clear that texting isn’t a good avenue for communication with me. Normal folks will take the hint and adjust accordingly. Course, I’m old and stodgy nowadays.
Seems innocent enough. But, As a married 40 something M, if I’m texting a F friend I always include my wife and her husband in the St. Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets National League Major league baseball may 5th 2025 shirt in addition I really love this text chain. Younger people find texting to be even more casual than we do so they just likely never learned proper conversation etiquette, which is to not just blurt out whatever thought pops into your head and send it to people. If you feel weird about it even though he’s not being creepy or weird in any way, then, I would not participate in a conversation with this person. If it makes you uncomfortable, I would trust your gut. If he texts you, I would respond, I’m really busy or I don’t feel good and keep on making little excuses and hopefully, he’ll get the message. If he doesn’t, I would completely be honest with him and you can do it in a nice way, where he maybe, won’t get defensive and if he does after you initially tell him, don’t respond or feed into it. Some things are better left unsaid after you explained yourself. Don’t know why your friend would even give him your number and not even ask you if it was ok… that is weird too!
It’s both weird and normal. He’s at that awkward young professional just getting good at relationships phase. In his mind, connecting with you casually is just a sign that he’s mature and can interact with other adults. As long as he’s being positive about his fiance, it’s probably just about trying to be social and affirming. Assuming his fiancé/your friend and your husband knows then I don’t see a problem. But if you feel uncomfortable for ANY reason then don’t text him back. It’s important to keep a fence around your and his relationship…. If he’s texting things like don’t let her get to wild that’s outside the St. Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets National League Major league baseball may 5th 2025 shirt in addition I really love this fence and is appropriate. If he starts saying asking for advice or saying that he’s having a hard time with her that’s starting to get inside the fence and should be cut off. You’ve probably had experiences or seen where someone would’ve had a fight with you over this. It could be just that? However I do find it weird, it could just be innocent but it would make me uncomfortable.
He’s young, I would give him the St. Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets National League Major league baseball may 5th 2025 shirt in addition I really love this benefit of the doubt, but he needs to understand that this is not appropriate, and it is not appropriate. Nothing good can come of it. If he needs to get some information to you, your friend should be the contact point. While it’s cool and all that your friend wants you to be friends with your hubby, you should really tell her it’s not appropriate to give people’s numbers without making sure it’s okay first OPINION: Your younger friend feels well accepted, you feel well accepted. If you feel like you had to ask others, you think it is weird. If you then had to further validate: you’re asking the internet. Your gut, your instinct is the seed. If you’ve ‘shared,’ your sexual life and opinions, then, I’d really be uncomfortable, in your shoes. If she gave him your number, that’s a breach into that friendship of yours, you weren’t given agency. You either accept she’s sharing you or reinforce your boundaries as autonomous outside your chosen and invested relationships. It doesn’t have to mean something. It may mean a good deal more. Your morals guide, your interpretations guide, your forseeable future guide, your past dictates the interpretation. Good luck, OP
Is the St. Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets National League Major league baseball may 5th 2025 shirt in addition I really love this communication always respectful of the 24F friend? For example, the fiancé is not using OP as an outlet to rant or vent about her. There are certainly situations where something like this could be weird and inappropriate, but there are absolutely situations where this could be totally friendly, platonic, and innocuous. Context is key. It really depends—and yeah, the tiny “generation gap” could explain why the younger couple is fine with this, whereas OP is (and OP’s peers are) a little mystified. Your husband and other RL friends know the context more than reddit does. Reverse the roles and what if your husband had a guy friend who had a fiance and she was texting your husband. What do you think? You should be very keen on stuff like this and just posting this goes to show you something is a little off or not normal. He could just be friendly, but no one gets their foot in the door (now, or 10 years later, or when you’re having a fight), by being silent.
I’d just give very short responses to not encourage a discussion. Like to the St. Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets National League Major league baseball may 5th 2025 shirt in addition I really love this text you mentioned, reply with a. That’s it. Maybe a It really depends. I text some of my gf friends, but only the ones that I knew before I met her. I guess you can text with someone, who you get along with really well. In my experience young people today are really open with communicating with everyone. But if you feel weird, then it probably is tho. There are a lot of people out there who are into weird shit. People who you would never expect are swingers. There are also some guys who want to be king of the women, assert themselves over other guys for no reason, etc. Not sure how long they’ve been dating, but not hard to trick everyone into thinking you’re great for a year or two. If they haven’t lived together for at least year she needs to be careful, she might not know his true nature yet.
I really like my best friend’s partner and wanted a friendship with him too, but I live abroad, so I created a whatsapp group with the St. Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets National League Major league baseball may 5th 2025 shirt in addition I really love this three of us and when I want to speak with him I always chat on the group. No one has bad intentions, but I deffo want to avoid anyone’s feelings being hurt or feeling uncomfortable! I think he’s just trying to be platonically close to you because you are a big part of his fiancée life. Just stay friendly but cautious and if he ever does become inappropriate you need to tell him right away that he offended you and consider letting her know as well as to set clear boundaries. I can for sure say it’s an age thing. My younger coworkers are way too comfortable texting to befriend us lol!! I’m more “let’s hang out via double dates” for a year if a friend’s new partner wants to get to know me. Maybe because we’re from the era when text messages used to cost real money lmao!!! But I’m here to say you’re valid for feeling the way you do, and I’m also here to say his intentions are innocent and good. He’s just younger and that’s how they do things! My mom is older than you and has a friend from not work, but a similar environment. When she got engaged her fiancé made an attempt to get to know my mom because his fiancés parents were far away, and my mom was like a second mother to her. The two of them are married and come over for dinner often. I don’t see anything weird.
No one else seems to notice this (at least not from the St. Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets National League Major league baseball may 5th 2025 shirt in addition I really love this top comments), but what struck me as weird was him asking for your number from your friend, her not asking/not telling you she gave him your number, and then him texting you assuming you knew who it was. His actual texts so far seem normal and harmless, but I, like you, would keep my eyes open. Always, always, always pay attention to your instincts. Sentiments like this are why men die of loneliness. Let him have friends without assuming some ulterior motive please. Nah, not weird, normal for his age and as long as his txts aren’t inappropriate I believe he’s just trying to get closer to you because he knows how close you are with his fiancé
