It’s the weirdest phenomenon because in most airliners we wear headset on a live loop intercom where we can hear everyone using that intercom line and ourself because it’s loud in the flight deck. But some pilots will for some reason move their mic closer in whenever they make a PA when it was just fine for the intercom. So it causes the mic to not pick up very well what your saying because now your too loud for the mic to work effectively. It’s weird because the if you hear yourself fine in the intercom, there’s not need to adjust for the PA…. I never understood why they speak like an auctioneer, a slow few words followed by fast pitched talking that goes up and down, slow down then speed on for a while.
