Kishiro ended it in an abrupt and Ouroboros Battle Angel Alita shirt manner because he was having major stress/ anxiety problems at the time. He said even hearing rain falling was enough to make him tremble yet he wasn’t seeking any sort of treatment. He didn’t want to leave the story unfinished and was feeling unsure if he’d ever be able to continue it, so he rushed an ending.

Back when Yukito was writing Ouroboros Battle Angel Alita shirt he got very ill and was faced with a hard dilemma: rush towards a premature ending or risk that your manga will never get finished. He chose to rush it. Fortunately he got better. He ended up regretting his choice and felt really bad about it. That let to him first creating the Japanese PS1 video game “Martian Memories” which incorporated some of the elements he was forced  Eventually he decided to declare the ending of the manga non-canon and started Last Order as a direct sequel so he could write the story he wanted to create.

I read that in the epilogue of the deluxe edition. Ouroboros Battle Angel Alita shirt guy but I’m glad he found peace. Anyway so you’re saying the very ending of volume 9 is erased and Last Order goes on from the middle of chapter 51? That’s what I heard. Yes that is correct. In chapter 51 something big happens and then is followed by a flashback dream. That big event is the last canon part of the original series, the dream sequence afterwards is already dropped. So Last Order picks up directly after that big event. The version of volume 9 that I read (digital on ComiXology) had a page right after the canon ending explaining that what followed wasn’t canon anymore. Where did you read it?
