Somehow I’ve gotten my kitties on a sleep cycle because they got crated at night. When we first brought them home we’d wear em out and pen them up and now they sleep through the night Nope. Sleep is important. My little shits have eventually figured out that anything but sleep at night in the bedroom = being kicked out. They are always waiting right by the door in the morning after. Happens very rarely now. Everyone happier as a result. Sometimes I wake up and they are gone doing zoomies in the basement together and thats just fine. when we leave the door open, my boyfriend and our two cats sleep om 80% of the bed and i am sleeping on 20% but i still love them. but not something to do everyday.

After that we decided to try again and see if he would behave and sure enough he plopped right down next to me and ceased the nightly runs! All the bedroom doors are closed at my place, either because of allergies or because the 3am zoomies are an issue. The cat still loves us, as has learned to scratch at the door when he needs breakfast. They understand and love me anyway. Oh and the other cat? That psycho lives under the bed. She was spraying the apartment, which, is why the separation at night (and day while I’m at work). I’ve compartmentalized my life for these lovebugs and still would do it all over again I wish I had a door, so I could close it on my adorable monster. He really likes meowing right in my face at ungodly hours.
