In my opinion, unlike Bob Monet and Bianca.. Trixie’s lack of chemistry with people she’s not super familiar with is very noticeable. I like when Pitstop feels like two shady coworkers talking shit in the breakroom. Trixie isnt giving much and her guests are not giving enough to carry, with the exception of Maddy I thought hers was honestly one of the best, gave her own opinions and had good banter, what about it did you not like?

I don’t think Trixie or the New York Mets Grateful Dead logo shirt it is in the first place but guests is the issue… and unless I’m mistaken every guest so far has been a former contestant except Brittany and Orville. The editing this season lacks a certain punch. Like whoever they had editing the last few seasons got a new job elsewhere and the person doing it now is trying to emulate that energy but it’s not hitting the same. There’s a lot of dead space in between jokes. Certain sections feel like they could have been cut out completely because it’s just Trixie talking about nothing in particular. Still, it’s great background noise while I’m making breakfast on Saturdays and that’s all I need it for, really. I agree on the editing, and they also need cut more out. For me, season 13 (which I didn’t even watch lol but I will rewatch the Pit Stop episodes) and AS6 have the sweet spot in terms of length. Under 30 minutes for the most part. Now season 16 is consistently around 35 minutes. There isn’t more stuff to cover since the show didn’t get longer, so it means there’s up to 10 minutes…of what? Dead air? Random chit chat? Idk. I tried rewatching a few episodes of current Pit Stop and immediately lost interest.

Brittany was hilarious and in the past we’ve had Nicole byer and Joel Kim booster. but also some quality has been middling. i don’t agree at all with the “must be drag queen to be pit stop” requirement that stan twitter somehow has – by god please watch any pit stop with nicole byers – and was very pleased with brittany broski’s episode. orville, kimora and jimbo – meh! but bebe and maddy ?!? excellent and rewatch worthy. i think it’s still worth the 20 minutes out of my saturday mornin’. It used to be one of my favorite parts of Saturday afternoon but this season it loses my attention pretty quickly. Trixie doesn’t seem as fun as past seasons and the guests have been a choice to say the least. This isn’t supposed to be Trixie Mattel’s best friend’s race
Meh, I like Trixie but I’m not feeling her usual energy. Sometimes it seems like she doesn’t want to be there or they are making her do it. I really just don’t like her style of comedy but people on this sub act like you’re committing a human rights violation if you don’t enjoy her content

But I really think we need to invite people who still like and watch Drag Race to give their opinions. I have full confidence that Bebe, Jimbo, Crystal and Brittany haven’t watched the show in while, and you can tell by their complete lack of interest in commenting on the episode. I honestly think that’s what’s missing, and there are great names to be guests who have never been on the show: Luxx Noir London, Loosey Laduca, Princess Poppy, Angeria, Bosco, Marcia Marcia Marcia, Yuhua Hamasaki, to name just the most recent seasons . Plus, there are some great international queens that would be great to bring: Lawrence Channey, Tia, Tayce, AWhora, Blu, River, Dakota, Sminty, any of the S05 UK girls, honestly; Art Simone, Aurora Matrix, Nearah, Miss Fiercelicious, Vivian Vanderpuss, Synthia Kiss, Eve6000, just to mention a few.

This season is very apathetic IMO. Loosey commenting on a Rusical as a grizzled white-knuckled veteran would be incredible and informative, I think I wish their conversation didn’t sound so scripted. Production is obviously telling them who to like, who to critique, and ALWAYS agreeing with the judges decisions on tops and bottoms Not gonna lie, i’ve been disappointed by this season of the Pit Stop so far. I would love to say its just a slow start (like many seasons previously) but we’re at episode 7… Couldnt watch the first few episodes, usually i look forward to watching pitstop instead of the actual episodes but im not feeling these episodes. I could not even go past 10 minutes. I miss bob and bianca I think it’s nice to have variety, and to be fair we’ve had drag queens guests also flop on the Pit Stop. I think more variety is good to have as guests. Also, guest judges on the show itself aren’t all drag experts and they’re there, why can’t the Pit Stop have the same? I do think for next episode they need a bigger personality though to spice things up. The episodes have been fun/funny but almost more podcast-y. I’ve been enjoying it, but then again any time a drag queen is on my screen I love it (well, obviously there are several exceptions due to cancellation, etc)
Trixie is doing a job of being a general host of a show and doing what is required, but she doesn’t seem have the New York Mets Grateful Dead logo shirt it is in the first place but extra enthusiasm and attention to detail that some hosts and guests have had. The last Pit Stop season I remember receiving universal acclaim was Season 12’s (but is it fashion?) and ever since then people have complained about it being boring or bad guest chemistry – even when Bob was hosting again. Part of that is probably just how insanely long they’ve gotten though – I do miss when Pit Stops were only 15 minutes it’s kinda insane how padded out they are these days.

After all, he did it 3 times and other queens deserve that opportunity. No more Raja either, she hosted 3 seasons. Wouldn’t want her plastered in everything after all. Meh, it’s always been kinda boring. You can tell productions use it to further the same storyline they are trying to push on the main show. We’ve only had 2 non-DR queens be guest judges thus far so I don’t think it’s excessive. I don’t really think you should be a guest if you at least have not appeared on the main show, though, in some form, so I wasn’t thrilled with Brittany being a guest. But otherwise I’ve been enjoying it as much as ever. I can never really expect them to 100% be honest because the Pit Stop is directly associated with the main show so they aren’t really gonna sit there and tear apart Ru and Michelle’s critiques because that would be them criticizing their own product. Poeple complaining about Trixie as the host as if she didn’t give us great seasons like 13 and AS5. I think the issue is mostly the guests, and is not because they are not drag queens, it’s because they don’t seem to love drag. They could bring Nicole Byers and she’d give a great episode, as she has done already. I have to admit to not love this Pit Stop, but at least I’m still watching, I did not finish Bianca’s seasons.

A 35 minute recap show needs to have really entertaining personalities with bold opinions to avoid being a slog to get through. I thought the Kahmora episode was the best one so far. She was there for the Cher episode, she had so much knowledge about the Mackie references, her rapport with Trixie was hilarious. She looked stunning, as usual. It’s a shame so many people didn’t like that one. I think her Cher knowledge was valuable. Her commentary on the challenge? Less so. She was fine – better than I would have expected because she seemed pretty comfortable – but it was too much content about her friendship with Trixie for me and not enough about the competition. I agree wholeheartedly that I only want to hear the opinion of drag queens on my recap shows. I get enough civilian opinions on social media lol.

Such an amazing moment. I’m sad they didn’t give us three more seconds in that clip so we could watch the surprise turn to horror. This is nothing like the last two seasons with Bianca. I am officially bored. I’d rather watch Roscoe’s. That was not the case the last two years. But, personally I really love seeing queens from previous seasons on the pitstop so all of the non-queens isn’t for me.

No, I didn’t complain then and I’m not complaining now. I just don’t watch those episodes all the way through, don’t comment on them, and let the people that like them enjoy them in peace. I think Trixie just has so much going on that just having to be up to date on drag race must feel like such a chore and might just be doing it to collect a paycheck without so much as doing the bare minimum. She just doesn’t seem excited. And even on her podcast she mentions she has a hard time saying no to money/gigs. Also I think there could be a little oversaturation, atleast for me since she is already involved in a lot of drag related things. I also think we need a fresh take/new blood in the hosting seat to give some new life to other girls. We keep rotating the same 4 or 5 girls for years it’s bound to get stale. I think some of the newer girls would jump at the chance.

BB and Orville are both close friends of Trixie, so I suspect their appearance is due to a specific request on her part, possibly even as part of her agreeing to do it at all– just a gut feeling. I’m enjoying that we’re seeing some fresh faces as guests. And I don’t care if they’re not all drag queens — Nicole Byer is one of my favorite guests ever. I think people have been asking for new guests, but my sense is that WOW only wants LA people (so they don’t have to pay for travel/hotel), and that kind of limits things. I actually thought Orville & Brittany were two of the stronger guests of the season! Maddy was clearly the standout ep so far, and Crystal had great opinions, but she & Trixie didn’t get to the high-energy comedic banter that marks the best Pit Stops.

Bebe, Kahmora, and Jimbo all gave weak episodes this season, and Plastique, Deja, and Kornbread have all tanked recently too. I don’t think Drag Race queens should just get this guest role by default – they should actually have to be great too. I enjoyed them this season. Maybe so far there aren’t that many meme moments but it’s still entertaining enough for me. Fans set their bars too high for these recap shows. Fans just don’t like queens who give opinions that aren’t the same to their own. Queens like Violet are afraid to come back and give their two cents.

I don’t think it’s the fault of the editing, I think the guests have all been pretty mild-mannered and low energy for the most part. I think they should have arranged more drag queens rather than just all Trixie’s friends. I do think the non drag-queen guests are a problem. If it’s a regular judge like TS Madison or Michele then it’s a little different but like please I do not gaf what Britney Broski or Orville Peck think about drag race and they aren’t exciting to watch. And I’m a big fan of Orville’s music! I’ve not seen a lot of people saying that at all. In fact, quite the opposite. Most people I’ve read and talked to love having Trixie back and enjoy her comfortable and funny interviews with her chosen guests. I’m curious what your angle is for this post. Pit stop is sooooo boring this time that after last episode we just stopped watching it. Way too many hosting gigs for Trixie. Looks like she doesn’t care anymore. She only reads those cards.
