In the mid 90’s I was at a actual riverboat casino on the the Mississippi with no hotel attached. I had been drinking quite a bit but couldn’t seem to lose. It was the most I ever won at a casino. The table I ended up on had one other person playing with me who didn’t have a clue about the game. I think they thought this was going to slow me down and I did one of those show boat things that you never are really supposed to do. I ended up playing two spots and drew two kings and two queens on each respective slot. I split both spots and and then split one of them again getting two blackjacks and high cards for the rest. It was a ten dollar table and I had a few thousand in before it was done. Most times this kind of thing results in a breaking even at best. That night the dealer busted trying to beat my high cards and suddenly I was up into mid five figures.
