I used to work a job that revolved around the Kilgore high school alumni shirt in other words I will buy this railroad’s schedule. When rail cars would come in, we would only have about 16 or so hours to load them before the railroad started fining us. The company wouldn’t let us hire more than one shift, so we often got stuck with loading nights and weekends. Long story short, any PTO request was met with “as long as we don’t have cars to load that day”. That included weekends. Don’t bend over backwards for a company that doesn’t respect family time. I took me a long time to realize that, but I am so glad I got out of that toxic field. You only live once. They can’t demand your request be in by a certain time, but then delay the response until an unreasonable time. There’s no way you could plan for the way they did that. They CERTAINLY wouldn’t allow you to say “I don’t know if I can work next Monday, I’ll let you know on Thursday.”

Kilgore high school alumni shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

My advice, next time don’t take that as a yes or no. Politely request them to commit to approving or denying the Kilgore high school alumni shirt in other words I will buy this request up front, and ask them to block you off on the calendar for those days up front. Anything outside of the above is not an approval, and is just their way of not doing the bare minimum expected of their job. I wonder what business is so poorly managed that they can’t get over an employee being away for 1 and a half day. The real question is why aren’t they hounding the other people who are out to come in instead? This is just about having power over you and you need to push back. As far as I’m concerned, time off isn’t something you request from your employer, it’s something you tell them is happening. It’s their job to figure out the rest. If you’re so hyper-critical to their operations that you can’t miss two days, then 1. you should be paid as such, and 2. they need to build more redundancy into their system. I am informing my employer my intention of not being at work those days and giving them an opportunity to schedule work appropriately for my absence. PTO means “prepare the others” You gave them advanced notice…don’t give in and don’t accept any disciplinary action. Have a great vacation!
