One of the It’s Pat the Movie a Comedy That Proves Love Is A many Gendered Thing shirt in contrast I will get this funnier moments from this years holiday show was Jinkx saying she used to have TWO THINGS, drinking and witchcraft but now she only has ONE THING since she’s sober (from alcohol) ill say this though. her attempted milfery has finally been realized as … well… believable now that she’s not a wee little 20something baby theatre kid! Yes and no. The thing is, it’s the casting directors’ decision. They clearly want some queens every season who are not quite ready but, maybe have potential, are charismatic, or can bring some drama. If you are cast, then yeah, bring your best, but maybe the best isn’t quite there yet due to inexperience or lack of funds. Didn’t Heidi way exceed expectations by being so Charismatic it carried her way later in the season than Producers thought she’d go. I feel like there’s usually one queen a season that almost only has star power in Ru’s eyes and he wants to make them a star (adore/Trinity, Pearl, chichi, etc) and I feel like Heidi was the pet project for season twelve Basically every queen who has been on the show says once you see yourself on TV it’s realky eye opening and , you make changes to your makeup etc… Sure queens should come come in with an idea of who they are, but I don’t think they have to have it all figured out yet. Artists always grow and change. Exactly. I’m tired of these young queens coming on the show with no real experience (ex. sugar and spice) and only paying big designers to make their looks. Practice, perform, fine tune your art, take a damn sewing class, and come when you’re ready to compete against the other best contenders. This is why I think All Star seasons are much more entertaining. Everyone there is seasoned and ready.

It’s Pat the Movie a Comedy That Proves Love Is A many Gendered Thing shirt: Unleash Your Inner Fighter

Sugar and Spice were exactly what MTV wanted though, this isn’t a competition its a reality show first and foremost and they want their target demographic met and that means the It’s Pat the Movie a Comedy That Proves Love Is A many Gendered Thing shirt in contrast I will get this hottest from tiktok fits the bill. They don’t want a professional drag queen whos been doing this for years. thats not good tv. Whilst I’d live, the audience would hate a season with just the older ‘I’ve auditioned 8times’ pre dragrace queens. I like how you listed them in order from “Drag Race juggernaut-to-be” to “Top 6 but fell victim to ‘Meh'” down through “Charlie Hides.” I HIGHLY disagree. Seeing queens struggle with challenges and work to meet the bar is great. You’ve picked one very specific type of inexperience, but there are so many queens who havent come in fully formed and have smashed it out of the park
Take trinity for instance. She came in with a great aesthetic but clearly had no idea she was funny and learnt and developed thst skill on drag race. Struggling with challenges and working to meet the It’s Pat the Movie a Comedy That Proves Love Is A many Gendered Thing shirt in contrast I will get this bar is not the same as coming with your best. This is the Olympics of Drag. In the real Olympics, the athletes don’t come unprepared. They are the top in their class. They still may struggle with competition and meeting the bar, but that isn’t because they didn’t bring their best. It’s because they are competing against the best. This Olympics of Drag nonsense is just noise made popular by Ru randomly one day. It’s not actually the Olympics of Drag because it is just a reality competition where RuPaul and his team of producers crown an individual they believe to have performed the best on their show that year. This doesn’t mean the individual was “the best drag queen” it literally only means that the individual checked all the boxes the producers wanted that year. And those boxes change constantly because it’s a subjective competition. There is no objective point or scoring system and you don’t have to prove you’re the best at anything to get in like you would with the Olympics. The casting call is literally just being lucky enough to catch the producer’s attention with a video tape before they lock down the cast for the year.

Get this It’s Pat the Movie a Comedy That Proves Love Is A many Gendered Thing shirt

All of this! Thank you! There’s nothing objective about the It’s Pat the Movie a Comedy That Proves Love Is A many Gendered Thing shirt in contrast I will get this show, neither in the casting process nor the actual “competition”. It all boils down to producers casting an entertainment show where they can control the narrative as much as possible and create the best tv they can. It’s all ultimately down to having a diverse cast of queens who tick different boxes and will spark off each other in interesting ways both in challenges and in their prep/untucked moments. There’s always queens who give off “winner energy” or are picked out immediately as “filler queens” because that’s the roles they’ve been cast for in the season. Sure some defy (or fall short of) expectations but that’s just reality tv for you. I mean it’s called a casting process for a reason, instead of “tryouts” or something more sport-related.
And in the It’s Pat the Movie a Comedy That Proves Love Is A many Gendered Thing shirt in contrast I will get this real Olympics they’re measured against objective criteria. In drag race they’re measured against a metric that spells out CUNT One of the criteria is charisma. Where’s plane Jane’s charisma? Is she not coming at her best because shes not working on her people skills? I think this is by design though. Producers know what they’re doing. How some unpolished queens make it through? Casting Directors and Producers who want drama. You have legends like Raja or Sasha Colby, who have been doing drag since before the wheel was even invented. Queens that have refined and elevated their drag over the years and are mostly just doing Drag Race as a victory lap. You have young queens who had polished aesthetics, but were rough around the edges when it came to certain talents that Drag Race requires, like Violet or Tyra. They failed at most comedy challenges but impressed with their dedication to their craft and their immense potential. You have queens who were very talented in the acting department, who had refined a persona but their drag itself was very rough, like Jinkx. When the winners are all varied in terms of talents, aesthetics and personalities, then the cast has to be as well. Some queens are not quite there yet in terms of polished drag, but they have the charisma and talent to be a star. Sometimes it doesn’t even take much for things to click in place, and a crash course on the show can do wonders. Giving them the opportunity can really help out in the long run. A queen who is too broke to get nice clothes might be able to increase her booking fee by going on the show and becoming a fan favorite, and then the issue fixes itself, like Mo Heart.
I think a lot can be forgiven visually if you are clearly outperforming in your talent and presentation (Jinkx S5, Bob S8 to a lesser extent). Amanda hasn’t really demonstrated skill in the It’s Pat the Movie a Comedy That Proves Love Is A many Gendered Thing shirt in contrast I will get this other categories of the show, so for her to also look clearly under developed in the look just makes her look like an amateur learning the ropes around a bunch of career professionals, which I think is to Plane’s point I agree completely. I’m excited to see what Amanda’s strengths are. I hope she’s able to drop the PJ drama because I want to see her outside of the bickering with her. I mean, I feel like it ended at the top of the episode when PJ apologized. But for some reason Dawn brought it back up in Untucked and lured Amanda back into the drama again. It seemed like PJ was over it. I’m not a PJ stan but yeah I agreed with her when she said this is the last time she’s apologizing for this and shut it down. It’s old drama that needs to be dropped already. The number of times Amanda said she is over it convinced me she is definitely not over it. PJ is deliberately antagonistic, and Amanda is falling right into the trap; or she is playing the game.
Unresolved conflict means you aren’t gonna go home yet. PJ is definitely stirring to get maximum air time, maybe Amanda is too. I think it’s moreso that the It’s Pat the Movie a Comedy That Proves Love Is A many Gendered Thing shirt in contrast I will get this majority of people including queens and fans alike want queens who get on the show to have a chance to win. Of course that’s hampered by the obviousness of the producers always casting “filler queens” that have next to no shot at winning anyway. In Amanda’s case, it’s still clear that someone with her aesthetic (in its current iteration) is not what you’d generally expect from that of someone who’s won Drag Race. However, that’s not to say people haven’t won drag race looking busted on runways (Jinkx and Bob come to mind on their original seasons but in modern Drag Race I’d argue the majority if not all the winners have some brand of aesthetic in mind). Alaska talked about Amanda’s makeup on race chasers and she’s said this many times about the show. Once you see yourself on tv for the first time, you adapt. And adapting isn’t necessarily changing your aesthetic. I think she came in knowing her aesthetic she just didn’t know how it would look on tv.
On one hand I adore crunchy queens, sometimes the It’s Pat the Movie a Comedy That Proves Love Is A many Gendered Thing shirt in contrast I will get this lack of polish makes it better. Recent example: Mother Melinda CDR4. But on the other, I don’t think it’s a wrong thing to say. So long as we’re calling this the Olympics of drag anyway. But the Olympics of drag is just a saying. It’s not REAL. you can’t really judge nerve or charisma by any objective metric and theyre two of the most important factors of competing on drag race. Most of drag race judging is subjective. I think saying Olympics of Drag is just a saying kinda takes away from the intense physical and emotional toll it puts on the queens. Sure we can call it something else, but I think it’s more than a saying. Here’s the thing: I think crunchy IS an aesthetic though. And when done right, it’s great. Like Connie for example. I think people think crunchy isn’t aesthetic but if it’s what your brand is, it works. Are you crunchy because you’re a crunchy queen and that’s your brand? or are you crunchy because you haven’t fine tuned your makeup skills before coming to the Olympics of Drag? Drag Race tests so many different skills—makeup, fashion, comedy, singing, acting, dancing, sewing, the list goes on and on. But everyone has weaknesses and I don’t think it’s fair to say that any one skill is absolutely required, period, no questions asked. As viewers we determine what’s important to us and what we can look past.
Absolutely and not being a good actor or being funny makes someone a bad queen. That’s just not their lane and it’s okay to know what your lane is. I think it’s a warped way to look at things, as though there’s some discernible endpoint to levelling up a skill. Everyone is learning and growing constantly and the It’s Pat the Movie a Comedy That Proves Love Is A many Gendered Thing shirt in contrast I will get this period they’re on the show is just a snapshot of that overall trajectory. Queens who come across more polished on the show learn and change afterward too, it’s just the way of things. What is an “aesthetic”? The garments they bring? Wow, a queen spent $2000 on commissioning a runway from her designer friend. Such talent in drag. If we’re talking about things that are harder to obtain with just money or connections – makeup, styling, sewing ability – I still think crunchier queens have a place in the show. Early outs are a necessity, and I would much rather see a queen with weak outfits and a strong personality, like ATM, than the other way around. I could just scroll Instagram for that. (Not to mention that some of the show’s most iconic contestants came in very unpolished: Shangela, Jinkx, Bob, Aja.)
I agree 100%. Yes Plane Jane has a more polished aesthetic, but i find Amanda FAR more funny and entertaining to watch than Jane. Jane would be nothing without her villain arc imo. I’d much rather a queen who’s rough around the It’s Pat the Movie a Comedy That Proves Love Is A many Gendered Thing shirt in contrast I will get this edges but is an entertaining performer with their OWN personality vs. a queen with an overly produced fake ass persona (cough cough PJ basically ripping off Jimbo’s drag but making it less funny). It’s a competition show and they actively cast people who are clearly still struggling to use them as fodder. So it will never be a case where everyone is at the same base level. But she’s right. Yes and no. You come in with your best but also be open to critiques from the judges and have the ability to adapt. Crystal Methyd is a good example. Michelle hated her makeup on the first episode and she changed it up. Made it softer to appeal to Michelle.
Yes, as I mentioned they should always be open to growing and learning. I would say that Crystal came with her best aesthetic and she was open to learning and growing. We’ve seen a lot of really established queens bring their finest looks to the It’s Pat the Movie a Comedy That Proves Love Is A many Gendered Thing shirt in contrast I will get this show and absolutely tank. We’ve also seen a lot of crunchy queens come on, vastly outperform audience expectations, and become fan favorites. I think it would make for a less interesting show if all the queens showed up fully cooked, so to speak. A little of both, you should come with your best, but also ready to learn a lot about yourself. You shouldn’t even apply for the show till you are ready. It is a competition after all and you should bring your best. But being a competition you’re going to learn so much more and you should be open to apply that to yourself. Drag Race has different types of queens from different backgrounds with different strengths and weaknesses. Not everyone is gonna have their absolute best aesthetic ready. However, makeup should be one of the things that you have figured out for the race imo, or at least better that what she was serving.
Also Amanda fits the It’s Pat the Movie a Comedy That Proves Love Is A many Gendered Thing shirt in contrast I will get this token “crunchy/unpolished superstar” of every year. Look at Adore & Heidi; at this point they were clearly unpolished but had one really standout moment by their third episode, just like Amanda. I can’t say she’ll be as good as their runs but just pointing out similarities. Absolutely not. Queens show up from all walks of life and many of them grow beyond anything they could imagine. Some of the best RPDR is when a queen uses their resourcefulness to succeed when the odds are stacked against them. Historically, great queens have come to drag race who did not bring their “best aesthetic”. Arguably, Bob the Drag Queen (my favorite of all the winners) did not come with their best aesthetic, but thrived in the competition and won. It drove Thorgy crazy.
Right. Jinkx. Remember: “I tried to tease it, but I think I just pissed it off”? The journey through her fashion and painting was an essential part of her underdog storyline. The queens that get into Drag Race get there because Rupaul or the It’s Pat the Movie a Comedy That Proves Love Is A many Gendered Thing shirt in contrast I will get this producers liked them as is, and watching them grow will be part of that journey. We don’t have to like every queen that walks in at that phase in their life. That’s what makes All Stars so great, watching that growth. I also have a problem with a queen, whose first time is on the show, making these rules up out of their ass. If we really want to set these rules, then every queen that walks in though know how to sew- and from what we watched Plane said this on the week she looks better, I can’t imagine her having said that last week when she looked busted. I think Plane Jane has a point, but also… you go on the show when you can get on. You apply because why tf not, and then you get the call? Of course you say yes even if your closet has 3 dresses in it and you don’t know how to draw a brow.
It’s not a competition, it’s a competition reality show. There is value in being a character on the It’s Pat the Movie a Comedy That Proves Love Is A many Gendered Thing shirt in contrast I will get this show that gets a growth arc storyline which is common on these shows. You stay longer, they often become endeared by the audience even audience favorites, there is opportunity to be the underdog. And a good story for coming back on an all stars. People love a glow up Girls with limited experience and crunchy aesthetics have been on drag race since season one. So idk where this “the best of the best” idea has ever come from. It’s always the “best we can make storylines for”. Jane is also missing many ingredients to make a queen THE queen, particularly charisma and uniqueness, and talent is questionable unless we’re talking about moping drag from other kooky queens, so she shouldn’t be talking.
If they are coming in to win then yes. If they want to spend tens of thousands of dollars preparing for this competition to make friends and learn makeup… Then go off queen, but I truly think that’s a silly decision and I think it’s totally fair to point it out especially when there are people in the It’s Pat the Movie a Comedy That Proves Love Is A many Gendered Thing shirt in contrast I will get this room who came PREPARED to compete. Should they come as well prepared and in their best shape? Yes. Does that mean they can’t learn and evolve from critiques? No. PJ’s comment was fair with ATM coming in what she believed was her best but she’s also growing and applying lessons throughout her time, which is to be expected. Agreed, that’s why I said they should be open to learning and growing. Being your best doesn’t mean you’re perfect or flawless. It means you are putting your self out there. What’s your best today will not or should not be your best five years from now no, she literally went on the runway wearing a jersey and denim shorts so there’s room for improvement there too
You should bring your best version of you but realistically the It’s Pat the Movie a Comedy That Proves Love Is A many Gendered Thing shirt in contrast I will get this producers want a Cinderella story where the queen feels that RuPaul has made her better somehow otherwise you get a Chad Michaels ‘she’s such a professional but there’s no vulnerability’ edit. If you look at Trixie on s7 and as3 at the time she thought she was the cuntiest queen to walk into that room, and we all know she wasn’t, but she’s grown and evolved so much naturally. She’s found her drag niche, and learned to really sharpen it over the years to perfection. But that’s like most queens, even Jinx was like that. The thing with “crunchy” queens is AT THE TIME they thought that was the biggest serve of the century. They come with their character/aesthetic figured out, and are always learning how to polish it.
I think Amanda knows she’s got things to work on, I don’t think she fully believes her fantasy and doesn’t have a clear idea and she’s learning which is fine. But if you look at Jane, she’s got her idea and believes her fantasy so it works. I don’t think every queen to ever walk into the It’s Pat the Movie a Comedy That Proves Love Is A many Gendered Thing shirt in contrast I will get this room needs to be 100% figured out and perfect, but I’d rather watch a queen who knows who she is learn how to be versatile within her aesthetic rather than watching a queen completely figure that out from the ground up. I am excited to see both of their progression through the show, but I definitely think the show has started to cast underdeveloped(idk a better word to describe the point) queens to put them on All Stars and show their glow up, instead of watching a somewhat fully formed queen break out of her box and learn how to do what she does best and show the judges what they want on a regular season.
THIS. Idk why but people seem to think that bringing your best means that you cannot change at all because you are flawless. No. It means that you have developed your character, style, and aesthetic and it is at the It’s Pat the Movie a Comedy That Proves Love Is A many Gendered Thing shirt in contrast I will get this best place at the moment. People keep saying “well what about this or that queen? they look so much better after the show!” Well… yeah of course they do because what your best is today won’t be your best a year from now or five years from now. It’s your best NOW. Depending on a “glow up” to happen after the show or for All Stars is weird. You should come with your best right now and improve for later. RuPaul chose queens to be on the show..There is no discussion about this. I HONESTLY don’t get this question. Is a queen supposed to say no to being on Drag Race because they are afraid? I DONT THINK I’m still confused how plane managed to talk her shit without anyone highlighting that she had the ‘least’ constructed garment on, like sis cut holes in a blazer she already owned??
