But it is very different. I love my mom so much. At any moment in history prior to having kids if I’d been put in a batman scenario of having to choose what person to save, it’d have been mom, no question. But the love I have for my kids is fierce. It boggles my mind sometimes. It’s like it’s ripping at my heart at every moment of the day, it never rests. It’s impossible to explain. I don’t think people who never feel that emotion (be that by not having kids, or having kids but never feeling that connection) are missing out though. It’s something different that I don’t think you can feel from any other experience…but there are infinite experiences and infinite feelings out there. We each choose our own menu.
