I was very naive. The girl I was interested in said she was a bad girlfriend and didn’t want anything serious. No labels. So… I did that. She told me later that this was VERY confusing to her. You’ll come up with, at best, a few examples. None of which is in the plot how the woman meets another guy who has a good paying job and she still stays with her unemployed boyfriend/husband. In my experience, they’re gonna expect us to be the leaders at least 75% of the time and defer to our judgment, even if they presented themselves as independent while we were dating. Whether the outcome of any given thing is positive or negative, it’s assumed we’re mostly responsible.

Honestly could just be a personality thing for a select few women I’ve been with, but those are the major realizations I learned. woman here lol.. a relationship is supposed to be 50/50!! you’re right though, there are a lot of women like that and that behaviour is so normalised in relationships but not having the ability to be fair and equal in a relationship is a red flag. That’s what everyone says about splitting relationships 50/50. This is not a women thing. Men also enjoy the idea of not taking any real initiative and sort of just calling it in without effort for date ideas or romantic gestures. But the one difference between men and women is that guys feel the pressure to keep a relationship going. Eg; The many stories here where men pick out dinner ideas, those ideas get rejected, and their partner never takes that initiative herself. Some girls will literally date you just bc they’re too scared to tell you the truth. They take forever, and you can’t rush them. Give them a Time to be ready by, and they will still be late. And when you get inevitably annoyed or upset, and show it, you are now an asshole. So just suck it up lol.
