I NEED my alone time to recover from overstimulation and burn out, and I require a lot of it being introverted and autistic. Children will take that time away from me and add to the I Dig My Garden shirt Furthermore, I will do this overwhelm. I have trouble looking after myself, I will not trouble a child with my problems. Sometimes I get angry that I was brought into the world, it’s a shit show and it’ll only get worse, I cannot in good conscience, bring another being into this world, knowing they will have it so much harder. I also do not want to put my body through the risks and trauma of child birth. I also am not fully prepared to potentially parent more than one child (twins or more for an example), or a severely disabled child. And everyone runs that risk with a pregnancy but I don’t think people consider it seriously enough. I’ve never had the urge to have children, but if by some miracle that changes, I’d rather home a parentless child than bring another into this overcrowded world.
I Dig My Garden shirt: buy and enjoy this shirt
I don’t really like children. Children crying makes me wanna pull at my hair, scream and beg for it to stop, I don’t have tolerance for it at all. I think pregnancy and pregnant women are disgusting and embarrassing (I’m sorry!! I know it’s a terrible thing to say, but for me it’s true). It’s not tokophobia excatly, but close. On top of all that, I enjoy quiet and solitude. I’m introverted so interactions at work are exhausting for me and when I come home I don’t want to talk or deal with other people. It stresses me if my home is not organised the I Dig My Garden shirt Furthermore, I will do this way I want it to be. Changes are also very stressing. I get anxious if something unexpected comes up and disrupts my day/plans. I like having the freedom to decide randomly I want to go somwhere and can just put my dog in the car and go. I don’t function without proper sleep. Take away my 8 hours and I become irritable short tempered useless zombie. I like having the option to come home, get under the blankets and do absolutely nothing for however long I want. I can go to festivals and stay for three, four days.
Another important reason is my financial situation is not ideal. I can take care of myself and my dog, but a child would put me in debt. As to what I do with my time. I’m not very outgoing so my hobbies are reading, crocheting, daimond painting. In the I Dig My Garden shirt Furthermore, I will do this summer I go to occasional concert and festival with friends. I also like gardening, but don’t have that option atm. And end of life plans shouldn’t depend on children. Everyone should have a plan that doesn’t involve children. You never know how it will turn out. Maybe they won’t have time. Maybe they’ll hate you. Maybe they’ll move away for work or family. Maybe they’ll die young. Best option is to save, stay as healthy as possible, move into a care home/assisted living facility or pay for in home care, and have friends and hobbies to keep you busy and not lonely. There’s so many reasons for this. I see a lot of people saying they wouldn’t be good parents and I fit under the same boat. I can hardly take care of myself. I barely have the mental energy to be around people, let alone a child for longer than a few hours. I get bored/annoyed with things super easily. I do not want to go through the pregnancy/birthing process. I like my own space and my own things and I hate when others touch my stuff. Even my money, after having to financially support other people in my life, I want my money to just be for me and not anyone else. I haven’t had the time to do the things I want and so once I do have that stability, I don’t want it spent taking care of a child. I don’t want to regret having children and having them know that. I try to give myself that bit of hope and say “oh after I’ve done everything I want to do and after I get therapy” but I still don’t see myself being able to commit to something for so long and not lose my mind in the process. I care for children and I don’t want a child to suffer because I’m not emotionally, mentally or physically capable of taking care of them. A lot of people would call this selfishness and I honestly don’t care because the real selfishness is bringing children into this world knowing you can’t raise them the way they deserve to be.

Description for I Dig My Garden shirt
My main reason is that I’ve inherited my father’s explosive temper and I am prone to angry outbursts, although I am 1,000,000% certain that I would never get violent with anyone or harm them its still not fair. I’ve seen the I Dig My Garden shirt Furthermore, I will do this fear in family members eyes (mother and sister) when I’ve been angry and it’s the same fear I grew up with my whole life, hate putting that on others. People try to reassure you with things like “Once you become a parent, something inside changes.” But it didnt for my father, and I was unable to hide my outbursts from my anxious rescue dog. She would be so scared that she would pee and shake and although I knew she was like it I still was unable to keep it from her. So I could never bring another human into the world and subject them to that. No child should grow up in fear of the ones there to nurture, protect and teach them.
They’re expensive. Not an issue for me personally but they’re terrible for the I Dig My Garden shirt Furthermore, I will do this environment. They’re loud. I get sick of new hobbies within a year typically, an 18 year commitment to a hobby doesn’t seem feasible to me. Without kids my disposal income is pretty dang good, I work 7-8 months on election and midterm years and travel the rest of the time. Good traveling too, none of that budget crap where people don’t spend shit in impoverished countries and contribute nothing to the tourist economy. But not everyone feels like it’s right for them. And that’s okay. Do not judge others for not having kids or for having kids. “Since their actually helpfull when Im down” kids are absolutly helpfull in those moments. Anyway i enourage everyinr to not do irreversable things. You might feeling like you want or not want kids RN. But it changes, only cows dont change their wants. Wait till you have that ONE partner.
I’m 99% sure the I Dig My Garden shirt Furthermore, I will do this world’s going to be damn near unrecognizable thanks to climate change in the next twenty-thirty years. i’d be bringing a human in to the world just for them to grow up during the downfall and mature into whatever the fuck our planets going to look like with perpetual famine and drought and extreme weather at that point. Even I now haven’t had a particularly great go of it and the outlook for my children is far bleaker than that. And I’m not evil, so why would I consciously do that. How will I spend the time? morbidly curious watching this joke of a civilization get stupider and without any direction or meaning while it continues to cannibalize itself more and more to the point it destroys itself or the planet does it first or wild card asteroid or aliens show up we’ll see.
One day my best friend told me he was going to get a vasectomy, this made me think about myself. Then I noticed that for my whole life (M33) whenever I pictured my future, there was never a kid of mine in it. So I realized I never wanted to have kids, that’s when I decided to get vasectomy too, this was around 1 year ago. (Fun fact: by pure coincidence, my surgery was going to be scheduled for the I Dig My Garden shirt Furthermore, I will do this same day as my friend’s, and we live in different countries, but I postponed because I was having a visit from my girlfriend at that time, and I wanted to be able to do stuff) How will I spend my time? Normally, with my friends, family… I don’t want to be a father but I’m pretty sure I’m a good uncle. I don’t want the responsibility. Also I don’t want to put my body through a pregnancy. I’ll spend time with my spouse, make art, adopt a couple of cats, travel, etc.
Way too many mental health issues and too inconsistent. Also I want things and to surround myself with things to heal my inner child I would be a terrible parent and the I Dig My Garden shirt Furthermore, I will do this idea of being responsible for the development of another human terrifies me beyond belief So much of my life and my money would have to focus on upbringing a child and honestlt from where I’m standing that shit is all downsides with zero upsides. You kind of need a partner in order to makr a child and I don’t have one, have never had one, and in all likelyhood will be dying alone, so even if I did want kids it wouldnt be happening anyway. I am diagnosed with Bipolar disorder and was told I would have an 80% chance of having a permanent psychotic episode after birth. I have seen some horrible cases of women like me that hurt and even murder their children. For this I have decided to not give birth. Adoption is hard for me as well with my mental health issues so I have come to terms I will not have any children. I was a preschool teacher for many years and currently am a Behavioral Therapist for children and autistic people. My friends don’t and also some have children and I have family that I care for. I spend a lot of time with them. I haven’t felt like anything was missing yet. I have moved all over even living in Dubai for four years. Traveled to over twenty countries. I stay busy every year going to concerts, broadway shows, retreats. Can’t say I’m not busy and not happy. I have a lot of hobbies from 3D puzzles, guitar, going to the gun range and road tripping around the East coast for new places to see.
I also enjoy spending time alone and relaxing. Reading or playing video games. I live in the I Dig My Garden shirt Furthermore, I will do this woods so a lot of time BBQing while blasting music or sitting on the porch drinking cold beers. I know children are amazing and having the love of family is like nothing else but I have to admit I am pretty happy on my own. All of these replies sound so nice. I had kids without truly understanding the implications or fully planning for them. Life is hard. Stick to your guns. I had a nice childhood and good relationship with my family, and I appreciate children in general. But I have no desire to have my own. I’ve watched my siblings and my friends procreate and I’m like “meh”. And the thing is, free time and alone time is a big big part of my type of happines. I’m a very creative introverted person and have many hobbies and interests. The expectation of having a job, and kids, and a household to run, and a relationship to work on is just exhausting to me. Not to mention the absurd expectations put on mothers, no thanks!
I have also invested into my friendships a lot over the I Dig My Garden shirt Furthermore, I will do this years, and the idea of living inside a “baby bubble” with mainly my partner and kids and a few “mommy friends” is uncomfortable and limiting. Was genetically predisposed to die at 10. Medical science got me past that, however I’ll go with the fate i would have never had kids. I also don’t want to bring any kids into this world. There are heaps of people already. Carbon footprints, expense, and the fact I’d never be the centre or my universe again. Nah I’m good, my dog is all i need. I get asked this a lot by family and it’s so frustrating! Yeah okay, I’m going to have a kid because Aunty Lynne who I see once a year if that, says “it suits you”.
I will be spending my time doing anything else. All the I Dig My Garden shirt Furthermore, I will do this normal things. Sleeping in, having sex, walking my dog, going on dates, reading books. I like my free time too much. Also my money. And my dogs and main squeeze give me all I need. Time? Doing whatever the hell I want without a leash. I work with children all day (I’m in the school district) and at this point I don’t feel compelled to be around more children outside of that. I love my job, but I also need some space away from it. I already had 3, that’s a pretty good ratio. The only reason I’d have more is if I magically became a devotee of Joseph Smith or something. I am not ready (and don’t think I’ll ever want to be) as selfless as you need to be to be a parent. And, as much as I hate saying this, I am not equipped to handle the possibility of having a disabled child. Parents of children that require constant medical care/attention are absolute heroes in my eyes. But I just couldn’t handle it. And I think it’s good I can admit that to myself honestly. Medical issue. So stop trying. Now planning my finance to try to retire early. Planning to cruise around the world when retired. I don’t feel like it is talked about enough that some people are literally not well enough to have children. It’s not that I have fertility issues, it’s not that I don’t want children, it’s just I’m too sick. Have been ever since I was 18 and I am now 38 so. That’s that. I don’t like kids and I don’t want the headache. My wife and I spend our time traveling and going to theme parks. I wouldn’t change a thing.
Have NEVER been interested in kids. They seem to like me for some reason though. I dont like them I do not have the I Dig My Garden shirt Furthermore, I will do this patience for them. I would rather be traveling, and enjoying life and the freedom of not having kids. Not me, but my brother said he just doesn’t have luck with women, and his relationships don’t ever work. So he said when me and my wife and I eventually have a few kids, he’ll move near by us (we’re gonna get a house in Vegas next year) and he said he’ll be the best Tio ever and he’ll take my kids camping and fishing and watch them whenever me and the wife need a break. So, while that hurts knowing he might die alone, at least I know my kids will know their uncle. Besides, this world sucks in so many ways and I can’t even handle it. The only man I could be pregnant from doesn’t want kids, isn’t very stable either, so that kid wouldn’t only not be wanted by any of us, by anyone, not only be killed but so mentally fucked up. Why would I choose to do that? I have the choice between killing some thing, which I’ll 100% do without guilt, in that moment, or just. That never happening. Obviously I’d choose that never happening What do we do, reward all the people who cant look after themselves with welfare while they insist on making more children with no contribution to society while the professional career minded contributor to society who should be making more children are too busy to do so.
I’m just glad my wife and I got to choose if we wanted children. We prefer to travel, not be in massive debt by needing to own a house and I love spending my free time developing my PC game HAG. I always tell my time poor, kid laden brother that the I Dig My Garden shirt Furthermore, I will do this only downside we have is that we have too much time to think about stuff where as you have no choice but to just get on with things. People my age that decided that are too old to have kids now, and it’s probably a good thing. They’d have been terrible parents. I dont want to be responsible for another human being. I like to be able to wake up on a Saturday and do what I want. I like to be able to go on a week long road trip on a whim. Those might be selfish reasons, but how can I put a life that doesn’t exist before mine?
I had a little sister who was a decade younger than me. She slept in my room and I was the I Dig My Garden shirt Furthermore, I will do this one who got up in the middle of the night to change her diaper or make her a bottle and rock her back to sleep. I love her, but I decided at 12 that I never wanted to do that again. When I met my now husband, neither of us wanted kids. We wanted to travel and buy a home and I was rather vain and didn’t want to destroy my body with a baby. Our priorities together are and have always been to be debt-free and able to go whenever and wherever we want. We wanted money and freedom. Our free time is spent entertaining mostly. Most of our friends’ kids are out of the house or at least old enough to be home alone, so they’re at our house every weekend. We spend the winters partying with friends or soaking in our hot tub. We spend our summers outside, grilling/smoking food, swimming in the pool, riding around in the golf cart, gardening etc. We go to the beach condo a few times a year and will probably go more often when my husband retires in a four years. The worst of us have ruined it for rest of us. I couldn’t feel good about willfully bringing a consciousness into this world.
I like my alone time so much that I don’t even date because I hate the I Dig My Garden shirt Furthermore, I will do this thought of eventually having to live with another person. I lived with a traveling nurse for a few months & that was fine because our schedules clashed so we’d almost never see each other. My wife and I value our ability to just go and do things whenever we want to. Spontaneous vacations, not having to worry about another living being, etc etc. what would happen if everyone decided to not have kids? at some point there would only be 70+ year olds in the world. who would keep society running for them? As a woman I don’t want to put my body through that, women aren’t told enough of the dangers and complications that occur with pregnancy. A lot of women say that they are permanently damaged. I also don’t want to loose my identity and my name to be just “mum”. I also have trust issues and don’t trust a man to help me raise a child, or to stay, I’m sure I’d end up doing absolutely everything myself and be overwhelmed. If my hypothetical relationship ended I would have to be tied to the father of the child for the rest of my life, and then see the ex with his new gf and hate him. I get sensory overload so children screaming or even making any repetitive noises would drive me insane, it just does something to my brain. I’m also absolutely terrified that something would happen to my hypothetical child, if anything happened I wouldn’t forgive myself and my life would be over and I’d never emotionally recover. I have a lot of issues I struggle with psychologically and although I know I would be a good mother, I would be eating myself up with the responsibility and stress and there would be nothing left in me, so I would keep pretending to be okay and I can’t be confident that I would want to keep living, I can’t damage a child like that. There are so many things I’m interested in, discovery, art, psychology, quantum physics, literature, and I can’t absorb myself with it if I had a child. Also I’ve never seen a happy relationship or a happy family, ever, in my whole life, nobody.
We wouldn’t be able to provide properly for a child. Very little money, no car, and me being a total failure. I can’t even take care of myself. Also we absolutely can’t stand screaming babies. 🥲 I am a naturally lazy, very introverted person. After working all day, I like to be on my I Dig My Garden shirt Furthermore, I will do this own and I prefer to do whatever I want, which a lot of times is basically nothing, kids and my personality don’t mesh. Life is just too short to spend 18+ years of it raising someone, I’d rather use those years on myself, maybe that’s selfish in a way but I’m fine with that. I dont like children. Never have. My husband and I spend our time and money on travel, nice dinners, hobbies, and fun experiences. Basically whatever we want.
The world is so fucked. I wouldn’t be able to handle the I Dig My Garden shirt Furthermore, I will do this guilt of bringing a fragile, innocent human life into it. Plus, pregnancy fucks your body up in ways I just couldn’t handle. Maybe I’ll adopt one day, if I ever feel mentally well and mature enough to raise a decent human being. In the meantime I have a million hobbies to keep me busy. I can’t think of an UNselfish reason to have kids. I don’t want to raise kid knowing our planet is gonna be pretty fucked up when they’re older. Both my partner and I have genetic disorders, we’re both autistic and don’t fancy raising an autistic child knowing they could go through what we went through as kids (we were both bullied quite badly), he works in academia, I’m training to work in the performing arts so neither of us will have time to spend with a child, neither of us particularly want children in the first place and we both want cats and dogs so we’ll stick with those Life is expensive. Children are super expensive. I have my hands full just trying to set my own life straight and live and make money so I can pay bills and save up for nice things too. I also just broke up with someone after over a year of dating, a reminder of how challenging finding and keeping a partner can be. I’ll be happy if I can hold on to this house that my mom originally bought since housing is ridiculously overpriced nowadays and I’d rather not downgrade to renting an apartment or worse.
To those who didn’t decide to have children or decide not to have children, hey guys you make up probably most of the I Dig My Garden shirt Furthermore, I will do this world sorry you can’t answer this question. I have kids but the reasons I don’t want to have any more can basically be explained by how poorly my country treats women, especially women who have children. I have not made up my mind entirely but i highly question whether i would be able to make sacrifices for anybody else other than me. I come from a family with severe diseases, like cancer, diabetes, depression. I also have asthma, depression, anxiety, autism and ADHD. My sister had diabetes from age 12 and died of esophageal cancer at 30. My parents were successful lawyers and they struggled with providing for my sister because her meds were expensive. I’m a doctor and despite that, I don’t make enough money to pay for meds a kid like my sister would need. Or even one like me. So yeah, economy is a good reason. Then the world seems to be going down the drain and I don’t want to put more people in a soon to be inhabitable planet. I have lots and lots more reasons I won’t have kids. How will I spend my time? Working. With the current economy I will likely never be able to retire XD
