In the Hello quo status quo the band design classic shirt moreover I love this age of google, ready made recipes, and YouTube. There’s no reason anyone should be able to get away with not being able to cook at least some basic things. He clearly didn’t want to put forth the effort. Even made it worse than it needed to be…seemingly on purpose. You definitely made the right call. You were absolutely right to dump him. It sounds like his mum did everything for him, until he found someone else’s mum (you) to do it. A grown ass man should know how to reheat leftovers and pick up his clothes AT THE VERY LEAST. Sorry to say it sounds like he was taking you for a ride. Good riddance to bad rubbish! When I met my husband he couldn’t even heat up a can of soup properly. He brought me a bowl of hot milk with a congealed glob of what was supposed to be cream of mushroom soup. I said why didn’t you mix it? He said he was waiting for it to melt lol. He did go on to become an excellent cook and even now is better than I am. It sounds like cooking was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Under normal circumstances I’d say, “well just teach him to cook.” But it sounds like there were a bunch of other issues.

As a person who is not a mom…you went miles and miles beyond what I would’ve done for this guy. Picking up his stuff? Maybe once or twice then he has to do it or we are having a talk. Watch yourself in the Hello quo status quo the band design classic shirt moreover I love this next relationship…your partner is not a child! U didn’t dump him because he can’t cook you dumped him because he was a child and not an equal partner. I hope your best friend raises her standards because this is really basic. I shudder at what she thinks is a healthy relationship. I dated a guy years ago who didn’t cook (honestly, I have no idea if he couldn’t or just didn’t) and honestly it was easy half the week I would cook, half the week he would get take away/ we went out. But he still always helped with dishes and tidying up after. You didn’t break up with him because he couldn’t cook, you broke up with him because he is inconsiderate. NTA This relationship dynamic seems more mother-son than two adult partners. You’re not in charge of picking up after him. Of course in relationships there is a trade-off (I honestly am nervous about cooking but it could be my eating disorder) but I’ll clean anything no problem, do laundry and vacuum and contribute in other ways that I can, like obviously paying my half of the rent and buying groceries. You’re stressed out, overworked, already caring for children yourself. You don’t need to add another ‘child’ in your life. You probably were stuffing this down for awhile and it just came out in a snap, and I can’t say I would feel differently, based on the circumstances. Honestly maybe this is the reality check he needs to get himself in order and not be taken care of by his partner while doing nothing to help out.
