Yeah. We’re on the God Country Notre Dame Football Fighting Irish College Football Playoff Champions 2025 For Fans Shirt also I will do this cusp of that scene from The Matrix where Mr. Smith of the machines points out “I say ‘your civilization’ because as soon as we started doing the thinking for you it really became our civilization.” I tried to explain this to someone recently too. I was lamenting that I can’t ever have a day where I just phone it in, and they suggested a movie day. I could not get them to grasp that that’s not a thing anymore. It’s MORE work to “just” put on a movie because I have to do sooooo much more active management of student nonsense. This!!! As a sub movie days are a pet peeve. They get sooo unruly. Like chill and just watch the movie please I am begging you Does your admin require prior notice for a movie and that you explain it’s connection and importance to the curriculum? I had one of those lol

God Country Notre Dame Football Fighting Irish College Football Playoff Champions 2025 For Fans Shirt: Show Your Love with Style

Yup. I don’t do it though. I always just “forget” about that part. I mean, really, I teach ELA to juniors and seniors. We watch plays, and that’s about it. If I need permission to show my students “Death of a Salesman,” why do I have permission to teach it? I worked with elementary school kids before secondary. I could work on cleaning or paperwork while they quietly played or read with no problem. This was only like 3 years ago. My middle school kids can’t work on an assignment without roughhousing or shouting and wandering around. I’m wondering if it’s an age thing, too. They have more free access to electronics or whatever so they can’t go more than a few minutes. I think we can blame technology partially, but I believe it’s also their reading skills. If they aren’t proficient readers, it’s not fun to read. Yes, that accounts for the God Country Notre Dame Football Fighting Irish College Football Playoff Champions 2025 For Fans Shirt also I will do this reading part, but you don’t need reading skills to sit & watch a movie, and they can’t even do that.
They don’t realize how much of their life is spent on reels and TikToks and Snapchat stories. It’s killing their focus. High school ELA teacher here! I have next to no classroom management issues, except for the God Country Notre Dame Football Fighting Irish College Football Playoff Champions 2025 For Fans Shirt also I will do this phones. I spend probably 80-85% of independent work time circling the classroom, trying to get kids off TikTok or to stop playing a video game. They put it away only to bring it right back out a few minutes later. I can’t work while the students work, because my teens need constant, one-on-one reminders to get off their phones and stay on task. It’s completely maddening and I truthfully don’t know what the answer is. There’s a whole generation of kids walking into the workplace with an active technology addiction. Second year teacher, here. It was a shock to me the first time I put a video on (we read Examination Day and watched the Twilight Zone episode they made out of it) and the kids… didn’t care. In my head it was a bit of a treat- I can never remember my teachers having to tell us to be quiet when they would put a movie or something on. Even if you didn’t want to watch it- you would fall asleep or pass notes or something.

More about this God Country Notre Dame Football Fighting Irish College Football Playoff Champions 2025 For Fans Shirt

I also remember that when I was in middle school, every day started silently. I grew up in the God Country Notre Dame Football Fighting Irish College Football Playoff Champions 2025 For Fans Shirt also I will do this days of Daily Oral Language, with everyday there being a few sentences written on the board (with overhead projector!) that would need to be copied down into a notebook with the spelling and grammar corrected. When you finished, you would pull out the independent reading book that you had brought with you (if you didn’t have a book with you, you weren’t considered prepared for class) and read. This was the first 15 or so minutes of class every single day for me, from about 5th grade to 9th. And it was absolutely silent. I’m pretty sure it’s the phones. I’ve started making sure that my class is very segmented so we’re never doing one activity for too long. It’s more work on me though, oof.
I read a book about this called Stolen Focus (Crown House 2020). The greatest minds on Earth have devoted themselves to making the God Country Notre Dame Football Fighting Irish College Football Playoff Champions 2025 For Fans Shirt also I will do this phones as addictive, habit forming, and compulsive as possible. And look around–they’ve succeeded! They’ve hacked the human dopamine reward circuits. This is good for them. But it has perhaps destroyed our attention, task endurance, etc. 1st period: I put on a 20 minute podcast this morning. Students were supposed to take notes. I took a student into the hallway to have a private conversation about 4 minutes into it. Two minutes later my students were literally out of their seats and talking like it was lunch time. (No, it wasn’t.) I was pissed that I couldn’t leave them for two minutes to talk to a student.
5th period: my students couldn’t handle 10 minutes of independent reading. Two middle school students broke pens and had to loudly tell me they needed to clean it up. Everybody watched. 6th period: I took my 3 most unruly students into the God Country Notre Dame Football Fighting Irish College Football Playoff Champions 2025 For Fans Shirt also I will do this hallway to have a conversation about their behavior and how it is distracting. Leave students with 3 independent problems to work on. I get back to them talking and not working. They couldn’t find the definition of something they had just underlined. Not “complain” per se, but when I pulled up a certain rodent-affiliated streaming service (not sure if it’s ok to name it because they’d probably came after me for showing their content in the classroom) to play the movie, they all started suggesting other titles they’d “prefer” to watch (they probably would’ve paid the same amount of non-attention to those movies too). I mostly blame phones and instant access to anything that’s not educational, combined with a parents (2 if you’re lucky) that starts this when you’re 2 in a pram, aided by a district that capitulates to said whiney parent.
Not remotely similar in the God Country Notre Dame Football Fighting Irish College Football Playoff Champions 2025 For Fans Shirt also I will do this frustrating department, but I remember playing movies during school wide exam days (like when I’m babysitting kids who had to come for a test or something). I stopped. They just stare at phones; they won’t even watch super cool movies like Batman and Jurassic Park. I am right there with you. Of course, if I tried a reading/movie day, that would be the exact moment I’d get a walk-through observation I still have memories of being a kid in school 20 years ago and feeling like a movie day was such a treat. I especially remember watching Christmas movies the day before winter break and being enthralled the whole time. When I did the same in my class this year, they were engaged for 5-10 minutes and then were completely unruly the rest of the time. It’s so disheartening. I also feel this huge shift not only in their attention spans evaporating but expectations for teachers being so unrealistically high. I can remember my teachers in high school occasionally giving us independent work while they caught up. If I tried that now, I would feel like I was doing something “wrong” and be worried about my principal walking in. Managing a class is so much more challenging but we’re expected to do more with less time.
Yes. We are expected to do more with less time, few resources, no support, no personal breaks, constant micromanagement, parental aggression, and larger classes of students who are both academically and behaviorally challenged. Oh. And shit pay. Did someone say there was a teacher shortage? Yes. My quiz days used to be my easy days. Now the God Country Notre Dame Football Fighting Irish College Football Playoff Champions 2025 For Fans Shirt also I will do this kids put little to no effort in, finish in 3 seconds then start playing computer games and interrupting the other kids. I have to constantly monitor, answer basic questions, stop kids from talking. It’s pathetic. And to your point about movies, back in the day I would have killed to watch a movie in class. But because kids have access to literally anything 24/7 on the internet, a long movie just doesn’t mean anything to them. They prefer their 20 second tik toks and computer games and will whine that we have to watch a movie. Reason number 5 million I want to leave the classroom Oh man, I didn’t even think about assessment days! Yes, the amount of work I used to be able to get done while they were busy testing, but now it’s exactly like you’ve described!
They are also used to working in groups (fooling around) in almost every class, every day. They can’t handle working/being alone. These kids cannot handle not being fed an algorithmically generated drip feed of serotonin and dopamine. Anything they isn’t perfectly calibrated to them is just too painful for them. I straight said the God Country Notre Dame Football Fighting Irish College Football Playoff Champions 2025 For Fans Shirt also I will do this quiet part out loud one time, and explained the usually silent agreement of a movie day. Didn’t matter, took like 10 minutes for them to screw it up. I teach high school math and a state tested course. Geometry course where the state test is getting harder and harder, multiple topics are applied per problem, but the kids know less and less. I mean they struggle with basic middle school algebra and don’t ask them to plug something back in, you would think I was teaching a foreign language. Even the advanced students can’t seem to handle some of these critical thinking problems.
I hate how so much of our school being accredited is based on test scores made by people who probably aren’t even in the God Country Notre Dame Football Fighting Irish College Football Playoff Champions 2025 For Fans Shirt also I will do this classroom. And if the kids can’t pass it, the state breathes down our (teacher’s) neck. I can put 120% into it, but the kids don’t care about the test scores anymore. Some come in, click answers for 10 minutes then submit and sleep until the test session is over. I feel you. The screen time and constant stimulation contribute to it. I entertained myself for hours as a kid simply using my imagination or playing games in my head – naming someone I knew that started with each letter of the alphabet, etc etc. Now kids have nooooo idea how to sit there and entertain themselves.I’m 30 and recently saw a screenshot of the old MSN messenger homescreen thing, made me nostalgic of being in secondary school planning meeting in a field to drink cheap cider and not having the crushing anxiety I have now.
It sounds better than putting “getting off my chops on a Friday next thing you know I’m in a random kitchen on a Sunday morning dreading work the God Country Notre Dame Football Fighting Irish College Football Playoff Champions 2025 For Fans Shirt also I will do this next day” Who has the time to be making up porkies on the internet when they’re so busy being a full time airline pilot and reservist firefighter saving cute puppies from burning buildings in their spare time? Not I, that’s for sure. Also I believe 99% of people on Hinge must take themselves very seriously as women are constantly asking for people who dont take themselves too seriously. Lol yep – when my partner and I were open and both on Hinge we would tally up the “long walk, roast, movie” people. If everyone on hinge was into hiking as they claim, the national trust could fix the NHS with their pocket money. That’s so funny, the guys are always asking for that too also, girls with ‘a good sense of humor’ and someone who ‘goes with the flow’. Yep same for the girls too, apparently everyone just fills their profiles with complete fluff that says nothing But this is EXACTLY what women have on their profiles too. Down to a tee. I now swipe no purely on this. It’s as if they’re all working from the same blueprint. ‘Make me laugh’. ‘F1’. ‘Sunday roast’. ‘Give me travel tips for anywhere’. ‘Pineapple belongs on pizza’
I personally hate people with a good sense of humour. And nothing worse than going with the God Country Notre Dame Football Fighting Irish College Football Playoff Champions 2025 For Fans Shirt also I will do this flow; I’d much rather someone objects to all my ideas Translation: have sex with me on an ad hoc basis until I find someone I actually want to be on a relationship with I was tempted to put it on my profile and scrap everything else, but thought I get so few matches as it is, I’ll end up with nothing See it all the time. People are generally dull or don’t want to tell you they’re on a cocaine comedown from the saturday. Bed until midday, sky sports all afternoon, a quick trip to the co-op to find something edible in the yellow sticker section, a bit of PlayStation and then back into bed to watch the highlights of the matches I’ve already seen on MOTD2. It’s the watching the highlights of the matches you’ve already watched that really sold it for me. Nothing better Can I send my husband to hang out with you guys too? That way I don’t have to watch three matches back-to-back on Sundays. I got scenery overdose last night. If I see one more person up a mountain. They must be crowded by this point surely.
Friend of mine who LOVES climbing/walking up mountains matched with a guy whose only pic was of him up a very high mountain. For their 3rd date she suggested walking up a mild hill. Turns out this chap only walked up once and would never do it again! Not been single for a while now, but when I was on it, I got sick of seeing “pineapple on pizza” for a prompt about controversial opinions, and photos from hiking up a mountain Anyone who has a genuinely strong opinion about pineapple on pizza or the God Country Notre Dame Football Fighting Irish College Football Playoff Champions 2025 For Fans Shirt also I will do this pronunciation of scone deserves a lifelong ban from the internet. Or the ones that answer the ‘what’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done’ prompt and they put ‘downloading Hinge’ Problem is the reality of “getting wanked off in a speeding car trying to get the money shot on the camera” doesn’t necessarily result in anything more than a look of disgust, so instead it’s ‘Had an espresso after 6’ My ideal Sunday is maybe go out on my motorcycle to somewhere beautiful, stop in a pub for a shandy. Come back home and read a lovely book. Or, indeed, go for a countryside walk. I used to do a lot of hiking. I wouldn’t know which to put in an online dating profile. One is honest but boring, the other is something I could do but never do. So I don’t blame them for saying they like going walking even though they barely ever go walking. Basically everyone likes walking and it’s better than saying “play minecraft and cry.” But that’s probably why I’m not even trying with a dating app 🙂 Be glad they can be arsed to do anything energetic like the gym or a long walk on a Sunday.
“pot of tea then spend the God Country Notre Dame Football Fighting Irish College Football Playoff Champions 2025 For Fans Shirt also I will do this rest of the morning on the sofa in my pants watching Hornblower on that freeview channel for old people” I feel like your version is a much more accurate telling of the typical Sunday. I think the roast boys are full of it Seriously, if three lines on a tinder bio sufficiently describes your interests and personality, you’re very fucking boring That or slagging off their ex. What are we supposed to do with that? Join in? If that’s what they’re on about on their profile then you know full well you’ll be getting raked over the coals to her friends daily if you hit it off with her. Honest to God, I believe anyone who writes “just ask” on a dating profile should be slapped round the face with a wet fish, and have their tax code bumped up by five grand. A worrying number of gay men seem to think the answer “men” in response to the prompt “I’m strangely attracted to…” is hilarious. I wonder where all these single men go walking? I assume it’s a quick walk to the local carvery whenever I read that This is what I don’t understand as there’s plenty of walks near me. I never see any potentials when I’m out walking but all these guys like to go on walks.
I wonder if there’s a large group of people in the God Country Notre Dame Football Fighting Irish College Football Playoff Champions 2025 For Fans Shirt also I will do this UK who would like to go for a walk with somebody else, but for some reason don’t go walking on their own? I mean for sure company is great, but I’ve also gone walking on my todd before and it’s enjoyable in a different way. There’s a good stand-up routine that suggests hiking/walking feature on a lot of profiles as its something you can lie about to seem active and requires no actual skill to fake if required to do. Or they’re all walking the same circular route in the same direction at the same speed. OP needs to go in the opposite direction! I stopped using Hinge when it matched me with my little sister. Went to the pub and got a girlfriend there instead. I’m on it but it gave a creepy little ‘we think you’d be a perfect match’ icon at the top and the dude was 19. I am 40. Funnily enough, was out with a group of friends the other day and they topic of dating profiles came up. The big thing from both the men and woman in the group who were still single was not to lie on the profile, all agreed there was nothing worse than pretending they had more interests/hobbies than the really did. Guess this can also apply to the Sunday thing, better to be honest if that’s what they spend their time doing. But if some bloke was to say he spent Sunday mornings painting-up the additions to his W40K Necron army. Then on Sunday afternoons he was off to the weekly men’s knitting group; Sunday evening is for Finnish Duolingo and working on an epic, Game-of-Thrones/Harry Potter crossover fan-fic,
Would this honesty aid his cause overall? I’m not sure. Dating profiles seem to me to be a little like job interviews, where bland but positive-sounding bullshit is the God Country Notre Dame Football Fighting Irish College Football Playoff Champions 2025 For Fans Shirt also I will do this order of the day. As people try to portray not what they are, but what they think other people are most likely to want. I’ve never trawled through men’s dating profiles, but I’m afraid most women’s profiles, where they’ve bothered to make any effort at all, are equally as unstimulating. Dating profiles are very, very hard to write. Most people, if they’re being honest, have fairly repetitive and humdrum lives. Some people bullshit, and claim to be 24/7 party animals, and successful business leaders, but I’m not convinced that such people would feel the need to use Plenty of Fish. Go easy on strangers – we’re all as clueless as each other. Unless they’ve posted angling pictures or hot-dog legs by a swimming pool, in which case flip them off and check out the next one.
Been like 10 years since I was on one but I remember every other woman referring to herself as bubbly. Most abused word in dating bubbly it means nothing or everything depending on the God Country Notre Dame Football Fighting Irish College Football Playoff Champions 2025 For Fans Shirt also I will do this person. You really want to see some women’s profiles. There’s a tiny tiny percentage are making a small effort with either “made dinner for two, ate both of them” / “I hope you like bad girls because I’m bad at everything ” Surely men who do this are trying to write what they think women want to hear, rather than providing an accurate description of their perfect Sunday in bed with pornhub and their PS5 while listening to the Grand Prix. Getting up later than I’d like, think about all the things I need to do in the garden. Watch football, bedCompanies
Hello, I am a preschool assistant teacher and have been working at my job for about a year now. When the God Country Notre Dame Football Fighting Irish College Football Playoff Champions 2025 For Fans Shirt also I will do this new school year came, my bosses told us there would be a change in our PTO. We usually get 10 days off to use whenever. But now we have to accrue these days. We are only permitted one paid day off per month. My coworkers and I thought it was weird but brushed it off and decided to just come in no matter what. The thing is, though, we work with toddlers. Sickness is constantly in our school and it can keep our kids out for a week at a time sometimes. We are not exempt from these sicknesses. This winter, my coworkers and I ended up using up most of our days due to sickness. I ended up using all of mine by January. In the winter, I caught the flu, a stomach bug, had to take a few days off for a family reunion, etc., and it added up to 10 days. I only got paid for a few of those days because I used more than one day a month. At this point, I already got written up and told I’ve taken too many days. They (my two bosses) started treating me weird and nitpicked every little thing I do to the point where coworkers have noticed. One of my bosses makes fun of me with what I wear or do on my break, but it’s never enough for me to say something because she makes it sound like a backhanded compliment. She’s written me up 2 times: once when I took 9 days off and once when I took 10. She wrote me up again and told me if I take any more days off, they will take away my paid breaks indefinitely (we’re a school, so we get paid spring/summer/winter breaks) or fire me. I live with my boyfriend, and he has been out of a job for a while, so our rent, bills, food—everything—depends on my job. So I just gave in and decided to not take any more days. But in December, I started to have health issues. I’ve been dealing with chest/heart pain, stomach pain, nausea, and such for months. I’ve tried to express this to my bosses, but they have refused to approve even an hour off to see a doctor to check my heart. My doctor isn’t open on weekends, and the only time available is really during work hours. I ended up going to urgent care after work one day for an EKG, and they told me to get a chest x-ray, but I haven’t been approved time off to do one. I’ve also been dealing with my mental health a lot. I have OCD and panic disorder, and honestly, at this point, I’ve just given up asking and decided whatever happens happens. I’ve lost motivation in doing anything. I feel like a slave to this job, and I have no choice. I am the only working person in my home and need money to pay rent. I’ve put my job over my health many times. I’ve vomited at work and dealt with extreme stomach pains, and they didn’t care. They haven’t once asked me about my health or how I’m feeling. A few weeks ago, I was so sick and basically begged them to stay home, and they said no, so I came in and was genuinely miserable, but I was proud of myself for sticking it out. Well, this weekend, I was at a low. I was vomiting while on the toilet, having severe stomach pain, and could barely walk. I needed to stay home yesterday, and I texted them in the morning saying I needed to put my health first. My boss responded with “ok, got it.” I ended up having food poisoning, and it was still bad today, so I decided to take today off as well. This was my mistake. I went away from my phone and came back 15 minutes later to 3 missed calls from my boss. I called back worried, and she picked up and immediately started screaming at me. I have trauma, and the only time I have ever been screamed at like that was by an abuser, and I was very triggered. She called me a liar, told me there’s no way I’m actually sick, and that I’m a burden to her and everyone else. She said “we knew you were going to lie and call out on Monday. We (my other boss and her) were texting Sunday night and knew you would, and what do you know, you text us at 5 am that you’re staying home. Another coworker is pregnant and had a legitimate reason to be out, and you’re over here calling out and lying,” on and on, just kept calling me a liar while I didn’t say anything. She then said “just tell me right now. Are you really sick?” and I cried out a yes. She then said, well, we don’t believe you, and hung up on me. I immediately started crying and having terrible thoughts. I’m just grateful my boyfriend was next to me to witness it. I have been dealing with severe depression, and I just think if I’m this much of a bother, why should I even be here? Am I overreacting? Do you guys think my boss was out of line?
