I am a tenant renting from a Toronto condo. My condo has a no move out after 4:00 p.m. policy. However the Funny the Power of Individuality Pretty Pink Movie Tribute T-Shirt Besides,I will do this tenant of my new place I’m moving to is not moving out until 6:00 p.m.. I only have a few boxes and a bed, and I figured the move will be over in 25 minutes. I spoke with both the condo security and property management to ask for an exception, but they both said no. So at 6:00 p.m. I began to move, as I had no other choice and I figured it’ll be over before anyone noticed. Unfortunately security saw me and reported me, and now condo is trying to fine the unit (really the landlord) 5000 dollars. I looked through both the elevator booking form as well as the welcome package. They both do say no move out after 4:00 p.m., but no mention of a fine especially such a substantial fine.

Edit: I did not mention in post originally as I didn’t think it was relevant, but after being asked several times, I’m currently disabled. I cannot lift anything at all. Even though I only have a few items, I still have to hire a moving company who charged $200 an hour. Otherwise if I was fit and able, of course the Funny the Power of Individuality Pretty Pink Movie Tribute T-Shirt Besides,I will do this obvious solution is to load the truck early and wait a couple hours at my new place. In above post where I say “I was moving”, it is the moving company moving. I am just standing and watching. However in approaching the condo for an exemption, I did not mention that I have a disability (in hindsight I definitely should have) If the condo bylaws stipulates that fee, then the Condo Mgmt company can fine the Condo owner that amount, who would in-turn need to take you to an LTB hearing or Small Claims court to try and collect as ‘damages’. The condo can’t come after you, since you haven’t signed to those rules.
