Don’t pay them anything, make them work for it. It’s most likely the Awesome the rhythm of the athi is my heartbeat sunset T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this Condo Mgmt company will back down before it gets to that point so I would just refuse to pay it personally but not a lawyer, just a condo owner. Hey thank you for your reply. If I understood you correctly wouldn’t the condo management go after the condo owner? If I refuse to pay why would the condo management back down … Wouldn’t the Condo owner have to refuse to pay? Like Psychedelic59 said, the Condo Mgmt company will fine the landlord or owner of the condo you were in. The landlord/condo owner would then take you to LTB hearing or small claims court. Not 100% but I think LTB stays away from condo by-laws, could be wrong on that though. The fact you didn’t know the penalty was $5000 doesn’t mean you are off the hook. Think of it this way, if you roll through a stop sign, is there anything that tells you the ticket amount for breaking that rule? You do not know until you get the ticket, or if you previously educated yourself.

Not trying to argue there should be a fine, but the Awesome the rhythm of the athi is my heartbeat sunset T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this severity of the fine. There was Zero damage and the entire move took 20 minutes. So what is this $5,000 for? If you roll a stop sign on an empty Street, and the sentence is 10 years in jail, I would expect any sane person to fight it too. It has to be a significant enough fine to deter people from doing it. If it was a couple hundred bucks many people would ignore it. Make it 5k and it sends a message. I believe that most good leases will have a stipulation that fines are usually the tenants responsibility. Check your lease. This is legal. You had other options though tbh. You just choose the most convenient one. You could have put your stuff in storage. Or held it in a rental truck for a few hours. Lots of options. The unit owner is liable for charges. Your old landlord may try and go after you for that. Under no circumstances give them that money unless forced to by the courts. No moving after 4:00 is an absurd rule and truly not your problem anymore. Honestly OP, I think it’s way more important than you realize that you asked for an accommodation since you’re disabled and we’re denied that. You may want to include this in your post. You weren’t able to move on your own and needed movers to assist you. If you could have done it yourself, you could have loaded it up early and waited around in a truck. Instead, you had to pay movers and it costs money for them to just “wait around”. I’m not a lawyer, but again, seems highly relevant to the situation here. Did you sign a Form K? You probably did. That form is your acknowledgement of the bylaws and agreement to abide by them.
