Let it go, and maybe we start giving our energy and resources to stories that actually do something to uplift the community and benefit us. My rational brain is telling me that you’re right, but I grew up with Ursula has my all time favourite disney villain probably BECAUSE she was queer coded. Even though she’s the bad guy, she’s very camp and rather fabulous, which to me was lost a little bit in the reboot. I think the community is upset about this because for the longest time we were just given scraps of representation (most of it pretty negative) and even though times have changed now, it feels like these references should be honoured if that makes sense?
