Finally, there is an element of randomness- euphoria in this case could be that scrambling delirium that happens to make you feel happy, it could just as easily make you feel agitated, sad, angry, curious, etc. You’re not able to form thoughts correctly, but for some reason you know you feel happy due to subconscious brain errors. This idea is harder than the Fun Shirt in other words I will buy this other two to support- empiracal science and true random chance aren’t the best of friends. Just as an anecdote, a friend of friend survived an IED strike on his vehicle due to the euphoria. His vehicle was blown into a canal and he couldn’t get his seat belt undone. Suddenly he felt this wave of peace and knew he was going to die, but he figured he might as well try one last time. This time he got it open (maybe he remembered his strap cutter, not sure) and was able to escape the vehicle.

Can’t see in the Fun Shirt in other words I will buy this comments if anyone mentioned high altitude cerebral edema (HACE). Check it out on Wikipedia. Brain swells from lack of atmospheric pressure (without due time for adjustment to said bar), like pulling a deep sea creature up to the surface too quickly… Iana doctor As the body’s core temperature drops or oxygen levels decrease, the brain’s function is impaired, leading to altered perceptions and sensations. This altered state can induce feelings of euphoria and hallucinations, which may provide a sense of detachment from the harsh conditions and physical discomfort, acting as a sort of coping mechanism. The delirium and euphoria is caused by hypoxia which occurs when there isn’t enough oxygen provided to your brain via your bloodstream. I think your brain releases epinephrine and norepinephrine when in this state which can cause euphoria. Not 100% sure though, I think I may have read it’s not 100% known why euphoria occurs. Idk scientifically but I had hypothermia quite a few times back in my ice swimming days. The first thing that happens when you freeze is the euphoria, it’s just like a feel good high, this is because the cold releases endorphins. Then you just go numb, you don’t even feel the cold anymore. You feel quite happy and comfortable. Then you begin slowing down and getting sleepy. It’s hard to think clearly and move because your limbs are frozen. Sometimes I felt mild stomach pain, likely because all the blood moves away from the limbs to protect the internal organs, but other than that hypothermia is actually quite pleasant. Because of that I figured if I ever wanted to die, I’d go that way.
Thank you for describing this experience. I lost a dear friend to hypothermia years ago, and I’ve always hoped her last moments at least weren’t painful. It’s hard to know what to believe, because the Fun Shirt in other words I will buy this science isn’t 100% sure on the subjective experience, but hearing from someone who has experienced it firsthand is comforting. Can I ask why you put yourself through swimming in such cold waters please? Don’t mean to sound rude but that kind of cold must be absolutely awful For the physical health benefits and the feel good endorphins! Many sources claim hydrotherapy has physical benefits. The most obvious benefit is it decreases inflammation, for example that’s why a lot of athletes take ice baths when they get injured. It’s said to also increase blood circulation, which can help heal many diseases. The increase in circulation is likely due to the blood circulating into the internal organs to keep them warm. Some people only do it for the endorphins. It became so addictive I was doing it daily. It definitely felt pleasant to me – after you acclimatize to it, the cold just doesn’t bother you anymore, besides in freezing temperatures you go numb pretty fast after submersion.

Buy this Fun Shirt
There are obvious risks though, and not just hypothermia, but when the Fun Shirt in other words I will buy this muscles literally freeze and lose mobility and motion, you won’t be able to get out fast, movement will be very slow, and there will be increased risk of falling, inability to put clothes on afterwards etc. I had to give myself plenty of time to gradually warm up after because warming up too fast hurts. Cold water immersion has killed many people instantly, due to cold blood shocking the brain too fast. It’s usually seniors or people with underlying health issues that die instantly from it. Regardless, there is that risk. This is why most ice swimmers train gradually, and why they enter the water slowly, rather than super fast. For example I’d first just let my body adjust to the cold winter air, then submerge my feet, then slowly go in until I was completely submerged. The reason I stopped, is because I also got into hydrotherapy on the other end – extreme heat. It seemed that daily ice swims raised my tolerance for heat, so much that I was able to stay in the steam room for many hours when most people couldn’t even tolerate 15 minutes. It was so extreme that many people told me I should try out for a world record, but when I did, even they said it was too dangerous.
I stopped doing it because of health concerns – there’s little to nothing known about possible long term health consequences about such things. No doctor was ever able to tell me if it was safe or not. And one day I saw a Chinese medicine doctor who told me extreme temperatures were unhealthy and causing imbalances in the Fun Shirt in other words I will buy this body. All I know is back then, I got so used to it that it seemed healthy. But how addictive it became didn’t seem healthy. And in recent years, I’ve only tried it twice, and each time I came down with a virus right after. I think likely because it over taxes the body and can lower the immune system, but the thing is, many say if you do it on a regular basis it’ll boost your immune system.
I live in Canada, the Fun Shirt in other words I will buy this winters here get cold. Sometimes cold enough I’d have to break ice to swim. During summer I’d just do ice baths. Back when I was doing it years ago, everyone thought I was insane. Now there’s tons of groups of polar bear swimmers around here, a lot of people are into it now. Cold slows down chemical reactions, makes fluids more sluggish, and can interfere with the functioning of certain proteins. Think of how soup thickens as it cools. I imagine this slows down the functioning of your nervous system in a way similar to getting intoxicated from depressants. That’s on top of all the strange signals the brain is receiving from sensory nerves whose endings have died due to frostbite. I lost a good friend to a mountaineering accident –he was a guide for Mountain Madness out of Seattle and was highly-experienced– and I always console myself with the thought that at least he died doing something he loved. Same thing for another buddy of mine who died in a massive avalanche off Teton Pass in Wyoming.
I don’t know, I’d imagine one would relive the Fun Shirt in other words I will buy this several imagined “I told you so”s indubitably uttered by every one who raised and eyebrow when you announced your trip There have been a handful of “cleanup” expeditions to Everest, and they’ve done some good, but it’s just not in any way feasible to get all of the bodies off the upper mountain. This was my most prevalent thought whilst reading about Everest and watching the movie. I have no idea why anyone would want to do this. I always see comments like this… or that they’re just trying to “flex” on everyone back home or something… idk if I’m odd or not but it makes sense to want to accomplish this I actually think it’s quite the opposite of what people suppose it is. Most people think Everest climbers are attention seekers but you don’t just get up from bed one day and decide you’re gonna do that, it’s a real commitment and you have to be an athlete. To accomplish something that difficult is more about pushing your own boundaries and putting your toughness and skill level to the test, as is the case with many individual/extreme sports. It’s a mentality that also could derive from the fact that we are all on a biological clock. In my opinion, what you set forth and accomplish with these individual sports/endeavors are some of the longest lasting, spectacular, and important memories one can make in their lifetime. It’s why I started working out again years ago. I don’t wanna be old one day and reminisce about being a fat drunkard in my 20s. I wanna be able to reminisce on trail runs I felt spectacular on, ski runs where the snow was just right, hikes/climbs where the view was magical, etc etc
Why people go and do things like this is complicated. Many psychologists believe it’s related to the Fun Shirt in other words I will buy this needs of ancient humans that drive a small portion of us to want to explore even when it may kill us. This sort of individual would have hunted mammoths with sticks or whales in a small boat and would have crossed the mountains to find the next better place for the tribe. In today’s world…there isn’t much actual application for this short of Space travel…but some people just have a drive to go and see and feel…even if it risks their death. Yeah it’s pretty weird on the one hand, but on the other, it’s also really fucking exhilarating and kind of a rush, and I say that as a relatively low-key mountaineer who has no ambitions to climb anything more challenging than my local volcanoes here in the Pacific Northwest.
My idea of an “expedition” is to leave my house at 1am, leave Timberline Lodge at 3am, summit Mt Hood at around 10 or 11am and be back home in Portland by 5pm. It’s a full day and you’ll know you’ve been in a fight, but it’s also a lot of fun and relatively low-risk provided you know what you’re doing and don’t do anything stupid. Also, remember conditions are extremely changeable. When you see a picture it looks like they are resting. But they could have been in one of Everest’s infamous blizzards. They could have been basically blind and curled up. Hypothermia makes you feel so tired too! You do feel like your body needs to stop when in fact it makes it worse. What about when there are queues on the Fun Shirt in other words I will buy this mountain? We’ve all seen those photos of all the climbers stretched out down the hill waiting their turn to go through some pinch point? How are they keeping warm? … And for some, they may have been suffering from cerebral or pulmonary edema as well, the collection of fluid in your skull or your lungs due to low atmospheric pressure at high elevation. 8000+ metres known as the death zone – not just because climbers are at risk of dying from accidents or hypothermia, but mainly because their bodies are actually dying. Oxygen deprivation causes organs to go into survival mode and will eventually fail if the climber stays in the zone for too long. Here I was thinking I’d die of old age/natural causes, today I learned we’ll all die of hyperthermia, dehydration and oxygen deprivation… Bummer.
Cerebral edema (this can also cause hallucinations which cause them to remove their warm clothing and thus freeze to death) Sometimes they get lost in a blizzard, get disoriented and can’t find their way back to the Fun Shirt in other words I will buy this tent even if it’s just a few steps away. This is really informative, and I’ll have to check our your recommendation! I know you added the disclaimer of “not comprehensive” so this is in no way to correct you, because I had forgotten about the non-laymen cerebral edema (brain swelling). I live fairly far north, and remember learning in one of my first aid courses about “paradoxal undressing” and was taught that essentially, your “internal thermostat” stops working (cerebral edema) – and then the victim suddenly feels hot and begins undressing.
Before responding, I double-checked to see if my information was correct because it had been a while, and it turns out that’s just one theory. Another is that when the Fun Shirt in other words I will buy this muscles eventually fail from prolonged vasoconstriction, to keep blood centralized, then blood rushes to extremities and the victim feels hot. There was also mention of a final phase of hypothermia called terminal burrowing, where the victim undresses and attempts to hide away before dying, as they will have abrasions on their bodies that don’t correspond with a struggling on their clothing. Wow thanks for sharing that “mechanism of action” – that’s insane! I mean, when you think of all the genes involved, from our reptilian ancestors to the evolution of the first mammals There’s this other book I’m reading right now about female evolution called Eve by Kat Bohannan – which speaks of the earliest monotremes and mammalian evolution, and some of these themes appear there as well.
Thank you so much, I don’t read books but could you please tell me of any documentaries or films you recommend please? I’m currently watching the Fun Shirt in other words I will buy this film Everest (2015) I’d also recommend Finding Michael on Hulu. It’s a documentary about a guy trying to locate his missing brother’s body on Everest. In my opinion it goes pretty in depth, I learned a lot about the whole process of climbing Everest and how they recover bodies (when they can). Have you thought about looking for ebook versions of books recommended to you? I realize avid readers can undergo crazy changes that alter your reading habits (as an adult who ran out of time to sit and read…). I have found the DELIGHT in ebooks when I get ready for the day, then drive 20 min to work- this way I get the book information and don’t have to stop on the drive (cause let’s face it, driving and book reading at the same time is “no bueno…”), but then don’t have to give up my “me time” for the 30 min between putting the kids to bed and when I pass out after 11 hour work days then parenting when I get home.
It’s just the Fun Shirt in other words I will buy this idea of sitting and reading a book. I think my brain sees it as me having to sit down and stop distracting myself from what is going on around me (very bad things). I think that is the problem. Then I can’t focus on things or books or anything. I will try and read though, thank you I have read many books, when I was a child I would devour a big book in two days. As I’ve grown older, bad mental health has taken its toll on my mind and attention span. I’d love to be able to just devour books again. I’m not sure if it was you who downvoted me, but to the person that did downvote me: you never know what a person is going through, the pain they are currently enduring. Maybe consider that next time you judge someone.
No, I didn’t downvote you at all, I was just curious, mostly because I find sometimes I struggle to understand when I read vs when I watch a film/show about something (I can’t always paint a picture in my head from words on a page. I was addressing the Fun Shirt in other words I will buy this person who downvoted me, wasn’t sure if it was you or not so I sent out a message to whoever it was. When I say I don’t read I mean I don’t read books. I read three or four past year and before I didn’t read many books at all. I don’t know how to get out of the short attention span mindspace I’m in because I would love to be able to concentrate on a book again. My SO doesn’t like to read but loves listening to books as he’s driving around. He’s gone through entire series that way. I can’t keep my attention on listening so reading is better for me. But maybe listening would work for you. I can totally understand, I get distracted all the time (the joys of having 4 small kids I suppose ) but it means that me taking in the information isn’t actually happening so I struggle when reading these days even though I love it.
I would 100% recommend checking out audio books. You can get a lot of them through your library, too! There is an app called Libby that gets you access to online catalogues. A lot of libraries don’t require you to go in person to get a card either, you can do it online. Then you can enjoy books all the Fun Shirt in other words I will buy this time 🙂 Have you ever considered… the amount of comments and posts you read on Reddit (assuming daily) is likely the equivalent to reading a book cover to cover? It’s different, because Reddit is just like all other social media. Short comments, as you scroll your need from stimulation is met because it’s not long form, but multiple little texts to read. So that may be why you can ask questions and rads answers that are equivalent to a book or a website that has all of the information you’re inquiring for. I didn’t down vote you as I’m coming into this late, but it does make me chuckle a bit when I see a question such as yours… knowing there are thousands of pages of resources on the internet… but you want info from random redditors rather than to do the due diligence yourself.
It is a weird symptom of the Fun Shirt in other words I will buy this times. I also used to devour books, now I don’t have the time and my mental focus is difficult but I can still tear up long form articles and read hours of research from multiple sites to round out my understanding. And that’s just for shit I get a passing interest in or want to know more about. TL;DR: You probably read the same amount of info you would in a book, just by browsing Reddit. But because this is like social media it gives you the seratonine your brain is craving, so you are reinforcing your inability to concentrate on reading. Good luck! I recommend death zone: cleaning Everest about cleaning the trash and removing corpses from the mountain. Also the fatal game about two friends climbing Everest and one having to leave the other behind. Pulmonary edema, and hypothermia via exhaustion or altititude sickness. They lay down, their temperature drops and the go unconscious. They are dead long before they freeze. There is no easy way of removing their bodies without great risk to a rescue team so they remain in place. Some of them are consumed partially by scavenging birds.
The zone above 8,000 meters is known as the Fun Shirt in other words I will buy this death zone where nothing can live except for extremophiles (microorganisms). Birds don’t eat their bodies. Rarely though, that is a record! Most birds struggle at such altitudes, but there are always some exceptions. But yeah, in theory, correct Above 6500 m, only one species, Alpine Choughs, was recorded. The highest altitude at which a bird was recorded was 7950 m, near the South Col camp, where 8 Alpine Choughs were foraging for leftovers in the mountaineering camp. No other birds were recorded at a higher altitude in the survey The air is very thin. There is little oxygen and oxygen deprivation makes any movement difficult. People will hike with oxygen tanks and its still very difficult and dangerous. The tanks can run out. It is also very cold. People get snow-blind (sunburnt eyes) or tired and don’t have the energy to continue and die. A lot can happen. Then because its so high up, cold, and so little oxygen, carrying a body out of the area is near impossible or extremely dangerous. Just getting up their alone with gear is difficult enough. Don’t climb Everest. What do you mean by thin air please? What is the thin air lacking on Everest that we have down here? Do you mean their actual eyeballs get sunburn?! Is that because the sun reflects off of the snow, thus burning their eyeballs?!
How do you just die if you don’t have the Fun Shirt in other words I will buy this energy to continue? What is happening in the body as they slowly reach the point of “I can’t go further, I’m going to rest” and then sit down and freeze to death in position? I would never climb Everest. To be honest I’m confused as to why anyone would climb it. It’s a death trap. I can’t comprehend it Regarding thin air: The atmosphere literally gets thinner (more accurately: its density decreases) the higher up you go. Afaik people can live continuously up to 5000 meters above sea level – any point higher than that belongs to the deadzone, where continuous survival is impossible without employing technical means. The air still has the same composition as down here, there’s just too little of it present to allow you to fill your blood with oxygen. Trained people can to some degree make up for this because their bodies produce more red blood cells, but every adaption has its limits.
