During meditation, you’re not trying to control your thoughts. Instead, you’re training your mind to observe and let go of random thoughts. It can be challenging at first, but with practice, you’ll learn to use your breath as an anchor and recognize the difference between your awareness and thoughts. And remember, don’t judge yourself or get caught up in distractions. Just observe and let go. Remember you don’t teach your mind what to think, you teach it how to think. You dont have to force yourself to like it. Again thats fake acceptance but you do have to honestly accept. What has helped me is doing a bit of journaling before I meditate. Writing out whatever is on my mind for any given length of time really helps to calm my mind. I’d go as far as to say that journaling for me is just as important as meditation.
