P.s, I really hope you’re vegan if you’re making this argument, else you’re a massive hypocrite. The single biggest thing a person can do to reduce their environmental footprint is go vegan, not change their lawn. And just like climate change absolutely nothing will change except more and more token nanny state laws will be introduced as the situation gets worse. I’ve turned my entire back garden into a play park for my two kids. My youngest is disabled, and often melts down in a public park, but in her own space is very happy. Rather than mow around slides, a trampoline and a swing, I’ve used fake grass. It’s ideal, and because it dries fast, it means the garden is available for the kids most of the time. Totally agree its not for everyone, but no way should it be banned. My grandmother is feircley independent and loves her garden but won’t let anyone touch it or help her keep it tidy, so she has recently had fake grass as mowing gets a bit much for her now. She can now potter with the flower pots and sweep her grass till her hearts content! We have fake grass because we spend most of our time either working, or caring for our three Autistic children. We have no time to maintain a lawn. This push to ban fake grass is another stunt by people who would rather look pious than giving a crap about things like details. Yes, yes, I know about the effect on the environment, before the saviours come galloping into the comments to tell me why I’m ignorant and wrong.
