Growing up I’d only ever eaten crumpets as a supper type thing. These days, now I am actually grown up, I eat them for breakfast too. I’m 34, British, and I’ve never had a crumpet. None of my family ate them when I was growing up so they just kind of passed me by. I’m sure I’d like them but I never think to buy them. Breakfast, lunch and snack! Favourites are with honey, marmite or cheese spread after melting butter over it first.

Snacky snacks. My gran used to serve them with afternoon tea (oh her teas were epic) so for me they are a mid afternoon snack with butter and a cup of tea.
