Have driven both plenty; at high speeds, not a ton of difference between AWD Model 3 and Performance Model 3. I don’t know why you’re downvoted, you have a good point. I love great acceleration as much as the next guy, but acceleration from 80mph+ is just wasted power. Its not like where you can punch it from a dig up to a cruising speed of 60+.

Where I live speeding fines and enforcement have greatly increased in the 23 years I’ve been driving. Good for OP for writing that in depth review, but even though it reads like a daily driver review, it’s really only pertinent for track, autobahn or the few places where there’s no speed limits (which is why I asked). This is coming from someone that is very critical of Tesla. I’m going to assume many folks who buy sportscars are willing to drive substantially above 80 MPH, and enjoy having something that pulls well in that zone. However, the price with respect to how much pollution I create just for those moments of joy is too much. Sounds like a great car if you have a shitty commute. There’s not much opportunity to have fun with sports car in California, unless you’re going to the track. On ramps and winding roads are always blocked by slow drivers. An effortless EV sounds appealing.
