Totally depends on who you work for. But I’ve also worked at places where programmers/IT people have a crap ton of piercings, wear fluffy animal slippers all day, spikey collars and tattoos on full display and no one cared. Engineer in a hydraulics company. The manager has tattoos, maintenance guy has 1/2 inch gauges, I have tattoos — really it’s nothing bad. Earrings are earrings. As long as you’re doing your work, hardly think it’ll be an issue.

depends on where fam, I had a job at a bank when I was 19 and got a complaint from an older customer about my hoop.. but anywhere else, I’ve never heard anything about it and I work in corporate. Most younger folks (many if not most Gen X, and most millennials and Gen Z) won’t care. Older generations are more likely to have gripes. At the end of the day, the office culture is the biggest determinate. Even with a more liberal and open minded office staff, if the culture of the company or office is overall more socially conservative when it comes to dress, you might get some looks or face some behavior that’s biased against you. And that determines largely in the company leadership and clientele.
