It depends. I’ve done it before and was eventually compensated. It CAN work out. But I was more comfortable with it because I knew the Bigfoot Santa Claus Patriotic Us Flag Christmas shirt Furthermore, I will do this people and had seen this pay off for others. I don’t love it in practice by any means and wish they did an “Acting” title with contract. Without a pay increase you’re not actually being promoted. They’re just going to dump shit on you and give you a worthless title. “I’ll accept the role on a trial basis, let’s start with 6 months with the added responsibility and remuneration. If by then you feel that I am right for the role, we can discuss a permanent contract. Or, if I’m not the right person for the job, I’ll step back down to my current role and salary. Get it in writing and signed! Plus you are getting to do the work of a senior manager, with the added responsibility, there should be added pay.

You’re never going to see another dime. But responsibilities and work load and accountability will steadily increase in the Bigfoot Santa Claus Patriotic Us Flag Christmas shirt Furthermore, I will do this coming weeks. Start looking for another job. I think the best way for me to figure out if I’m comfortable with the position is to also get the pay that comes with it, otherwise unfortunately I won’t be able to accept the position. And then also start updating your resume in case they don’t realize their “error” of trying to take advantage. They may say you’re right here’s a bunch o money lol That’s absolutely ridiculous. If you’re hired to fill a role, then you get paid to do that role. Stand firm. Don’t let them take advantage of you. This happened to me and I stepped into the role without a title change or a pay increase. It gave me a lot of visibility with leadership and they followed through and put me on a track to promotion. This has a lot more to do with the company and culture and if there is a real opportunity to prove yourself and move up. At the right company you could be rewarded and remembered for managing a hard situation and be given more responsibility in the future. At a bad company they will just use you and it will go nowhere, so trust your gut on this.
