5 was the 60 years of Doctor Who shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this first RE I ever played so it hold a special place in my heart. Would love to see a proper remake but would understand if Code Veronica was chosen instead. Resident Evil 5 would be hilarious to see just because to see how Capcom would avoid the minefield that was the whole “white guy killing black people in Africa” thing in this day and age. The trailers pre-launch had Chris Redfield emphatically Superman punching an African villager. I haven’t even played the whole game and I’ll remember that forever. If they avoid having half the game be full of enemies that are not only black people, but black people in grass skirts screeching incoherently and acting like stereotypical “savages”, it would probably be fine, lol. Or at least throw in the explanation for such a thing/note how weird it is right at the beginning.

Have Sheva go, “WTF, I have been to this village, they NEVER acted like this, why is everyone suddenly cosplaying a bizarro version of native people from a 1930s Tarzan movie?!” And then have them find the 60 years of Doctor Who shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this explanation of “Las Plagas does xyz and this behavior was seen in the Spain outbreak” in an actual cutscene. I played RE5 for the first time recently. I knew the village section was coming, but I was pretty shocked at just how racist it came off as, even if I don’t think the developers necessarily meant any harm and I know they were not viewing it through an American cultural context. And I was pretty shocked that the explanation of it being that way was just… off in some side note. It’s so easy to miss. Yikes.
