But two miles would mean you couldn’t even count the Greater Toronto Area, Montreal and Quebec City and that’s around a third of our population right there. It’s true the majority of us live close to the US border but not quite that close. California has a lower GDP than Germany although it is closing the gap. California is 5th or 4th if you don’t include the USA. It’s wild to think that we have quadrupled the world’s population in about a century, and that the US population now is larger than the world population in the 10th century. I kinda feel like this ain’t exactly sustainable. Brazil is the second largest western country in the world, Mexico is the third or fourth (depends on whether Russia is “western” or not).
