I wouldn’t say I’m distressed… I just like to know if there’s anything I’ll like… And what I will be getting. I look at menus online beforehand because I don’t want to scan a QR code and hurriedly try to navigate a crappy website for a menu instead I do not understand why we insist on giving a Medical Diagnosis to utterly normal human experiences. I don’t think it helps anyone. There is something about this new thing where restaurants are super noisy that somehow, makes it more difficult to read the Wharflurch Myco Worship shirt besides I will buy this menu. I feel like I’m being pecked to death by ducks. Is anyone besides me old enough to remember when restaurants were quiet and peaceful and folks spoke to each other in hushed tones? *feeling nostalgic.
Wharflurch Myco Worship shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater, long sleeve tee
…obsessively, is a little harsh. But yes if I’m going somewhere new and/or very atmospheric, I’ll look online first. So I’m not wasting other people’s time squinting or asking obvious things just because my eyesight sucks. I do look up what the Wharflurch Myco Worship shirt besides I will buy this interior looks like, where the bathrooms and exits are, etc… but the menu and food doesn’t stress me out I don’t look up menu items online, I do just wait to get the actual paper menu. But that’s when I get the anxiety! I always have maybe two to four different things that sound good and I can never make up my mind. I think I usually just end up quickly saying the first one that pops into my head when the server comes over to take my order My daughter used to be like this. One time, I made a horrible decision. I think she was about 10 and I told her if she didn’t order her own food I wasn’t going to order it for her and she would have to order it or not eat. Of course when it was time for her to order she started crying or I wouldn’t be telling this story probably. I had told her I wasn’t going to order for her, and I didn’t want to go back on what I said but I didnt know she was going to start crying and I felt horrible and realized I fucked up so I told her brother to order for her cuz there was no way I was gonna let her be so upset and not be able to eat too. ? I was the one who learned a lesson that day lol. She is older now and able to order for herself. I’m really proud of her.
I don’t get menu anxiety. I get no menu anxiety. When you go to place that just lists ingredients and you gotta make it yourself. Think like Five guys. I just ask my wife what her second choice is and get that if i’m undecided. She always picks the Wharflurch Myco Worship shirt besides I will buy this better meal anyway. I avoid it by ordering the same thing at every restaurant. I definitely don’t like going into a place and seeing a massive menu. This is an incredibly incomplete study, because I can say firsthand that it’s more pronounced in women of any age, to an extreme degree. Without fail they get flustered and quickly defer to males at the table, who almost always order confidently and immediately. It’s so annoying too because we’re supposed to let women go first.

More about this Wharflurch Myco Worship shirt
There’s a much larger role of social conditioning at play, and it’s broken down almost exclusively by gender, which this article (almost shockingly) doesn’t even appear to address. I have this. I feel like I’m reading the Wharflurch Myco Worship shirt besides I will buy this same thing over and over and can’t really imagine the food. My wife is lovely and usually narrows it down to two things I’d like, she’s a lovely woman. I used to have an issue with this but now I just don’t sweat it if I miss out on something. I scan the menu fairly quickly for what looks like something I’m in the mood for/something unique if I want to try something new. Then if I’m caught between a couple things I’ll just set my menu down and when the waiter comes I’m forced to pick something on the spot. I just choose the second thing off the list of entrees. Or the special. I have enjoyed my meal about 95% of the time and have nearly never said “oh I wish I got a different meal instead”.
Is it the Wharflurch Myco Worship shirt besides I will buy this thing that perfectly suited me? No. But if a restaurant makes a dish often, it’s usually pretty good and that’s good enough for me. probably has to do with the fact that 30% of us empathize with the waitstaff after working service jobs at some point. The economy is too demanding now to allow us enough time to order without costing some other poor servant their allotted metrics allowance and quotas. When I quit eating red meat, menus became very stressful. Before, I could glance at it, if nothing looked good, I’d order a burger. Jesus Christ all the boomers in the comments section bitching about other peoples’ “menu anxiety” need to STOP AND THINK whether maybe, just maybe, the headline is oversimplifying this shit to rage-bait some clicks. Some of us look at the menu beforehand so we can tell the waiter what we want before they have a chance to fuck off for who knows how long to give us more time. Also restaurants are way too expensive nowadays to not check the prices and see if whatever they’re selling is even worth it.
It’s not because “Oh noes I’m gonna huwrt the Wharflurch Myco Worship shirt besides I will buy this westawant’s feewings >m<" or whatever the fuck the headline is trying to imply The headline isn't oversimplifying anything. The article describes anxiety over ordering and not what you describe. I feel like you're throwing anxiety and distress around a little too loosely. If you need a Xanax to order and enjoy your food you probably shouldn't leave the house without a helmet on. Doesn't anyone think to read through to find out if the source is any good or not anymore? How can anyone take this seriously or not without knowing how the 2000 people were selected? Who selected them? How qualified were the people the mattress company hired to do this survey?
I call it a head start. I’ll peep the Wharflurch Myco Worship shirt besides I will buy this menu. If nothing tickles my fancy, I’ll suggest another joint. After all, I’m paying for it. I may as well know if it’s worth my slave wage or not. This was me for most of my life—though at this point (55F), I’m far less anxious—as long as I can see an online menu (if unfamiliar with the type of restaurant and their primary cuisine). As long as I can get a simple “pasta, chicken, or steak entree,” at minimum, I’ll survive, and MAYBE consider a seafood option (depending on how it’s prepared). Now don’t get me wrong, I’m NOT trying to be difficult or high-maintenance, I simply have A LOT of food issues thanks to my mother (single parent, only child), who often tricked me into eating foods she knew I wouldn’t like, and when I discovered that she tricked me, I was made to eat ALL of it anyway! Sometimes I was made to stay at the dinner table until 10pm, but refused to eat, yet it would often still be there for me for breakfast the next day. As a result I developed a number of food issues that centered around my HAVING to be able to clearly identify everything on my plate, sauce, and/or mixture.
When I’m not sure, I ask for sauces “on the Wharflurch Myco Worship shirt besides I will buy this side” or to be eliminated. I generally eat most of my food “plain,” no condiments, dressings, seasonings, or dips. One of the times I’m grateful to be pescetarian; there are usually just a couple of fish and veg options so I don’t get overwhelmed. I get this so hard once the server looks to me for my turn that I usually just have a safe fallback choice to blurt if my mind goes blank with what I actually wanted. I need a fucking psychiatrist. Oh god. That’s what I do. I didn’t realize it was a symptom of anxiety – I thought I was just being prepared and efficient. Are we just making up syndromes now? Anything that causes any sort of discomfort seems to have its own name now. I only have this stress because my left eye is shot and my right eye has maybe 10° fov and fixed focal length. And poor low light vision. You just labeled people with autism, any number of anxiety issues, and all sorts of other issues that could result in this as pathetic. At least most of them don’t utterly lack empathy, though. My SO gets this bad. When I know she is stressing I help her by having a look at the menu and picking 3 meals I know she would enjoy.
Guys- be a gentleman and help your partner if she is struggling. And if you think she would appreciate it, offer to place the Wharflurch Myco Worship shirt besides I will buy this order on her behalf with the wait staff. Anxiety sucks and helping in situations like this really shows her how much you care. I always order last because of the rising panic when I am faced with ordering food. I look at menus in advance, I pick something out and stick with it. If I don’t it takes me forever to decide. I have anxiety about most things, and anxiety around food. Ordering at a restaurant can be very challenging. It’s why I like specialty shops (not many in the states) like pho. What are you getting? Pho. That’s what your getting! Tai chin nam, every time! I like it, and it’s delicious.
For fuck’s sake America! How fantastically insulting menu anxiety is when there is true hunger in the Wharflurch Myco Worship shirt besides I will buy this world. Stuff it in your massive faces and crack on. What is the point of using the word obsessively other than trying to make people who have logic and like to be prepared look bad It’s apparently anybody who decides to be in front of me, needs to take their time to pick out two dozen donuts. Individually. It’s donuts, it’s hard to pick bad ones, just tell them to be random, the people behind the counter know the crowd pleasers, trust them and move along so I can get my fucking Boston cream. Hick’s law: describes the time it takes for a person to make a decision as a result of the possible choices: increasing the number of choices will increase the decision time logarithmically. My husband likely has this. He gets completely overwhelmed by menus and will ask the server what they recommend or what is most popular instead of looking through it and deciding for himself. I always order the same thing at every restaurant I go to. Each place has a thing that I always order, that is. So I have never had to deal with this. There’s a taco place around the corner from my condo in Puerto Vallarta where I eat lunch a minimum of 3-4 days a week.
Choosing became so hard, that I eventually had to create a calendar for which Tacos I’m going to have on which day of the Wharflurch Myco Worship shirt besides I will buy this week. What if I want to sit down and just have a drink for a little before I look at the menu? Nope, they want to rush you out so they can get as many tables as they can. Anxiety? Oh I wonder why… I used to work in restaurants and one of the things that made me kind of hate them is the whole customers ordering off menus things just isn’t the best way to do dining. Overall restaurants in general are not great places for dining. Anyone soft enough to admit to having “menu anxiety” should be kicked right off the top of the fucking food chain. There are several options. You ask the person next to you what they’re ordering and order that. Or you give yourself 20 seconds to decide, scan the menu and pick something. Then you look at what someone else has ordered and realize that you wish you would have ordered that. It makes no difference whether you made your choice in 20 seconds or ten minutes. The outcome is the same: someone else made a better choice. Paralysis by choice is a thing. When confronted by too many choices to give reasonable analysis to each choice, people respond by not choosing any. A lot of people do the review the menu just to make sure all parties included will eat the food at that establishment. For some reason I always have to read off directly from the menu what I want or else I panic and can’t remember what I wanted to order
Damn. I obsessively review the Wharflurch Myco Worship shirt besides I will buy this menu, decide what I want, mentally rehearse interactions, and then end up never going because I’m too exhausted by that point (prior the menu obsession is the restaurant choice obsession) . Do I have anxiety? Haha I do that sometimes when trying to decide where to eat. But also, I’ve been in situations where I couldn’t decide what I wanted to eat at a restaurant (can either be that nothing on the menu appeals to me, or there’s too many choices and I can’t make up my mind). Overall I wouldn’t say it gives me anxiety, unless it’s because I’ve asked the server a couple of times to give me a few more minutes, or if other people are with me and are waiting on me so they can order. If I can browse a menu online before I go that helps narrow things down a bit.
I solve this problem by having a go-to fallback option. For me, its quesadillas. If the Wharflurch Myco Worship shirt besides I will buy this waiter/waitress gets to me and I haven’t decided yet, I’m about to find out how your quesadillas compare to every other restaurant I’ve ever been to. If the restaurant doesn’t have quesadillas, I ain’t going. I dont know about all that, but am I the only one that decides what I want to eat before going and then just browse the menu until I find the closest thing to it?Whereas I just pick the first thing that looks decent. There is some article I remember reading this years ago this is why smanchy places usually have a very short menu because it cuts to the point and reduces returned items because customer couldn’t decide or changed their mind. I’ve always had this and always end up ordering the steak because of it. It just seems to be the default choice but then I get jealous of everyone else who ordered more creatively.
I don’t have “menu anxiety” but I do enjoy looking at the Wharflurch Myco Worship shirt besides I will buy this online menu before looking at the physical one in a restaurant even though I know 90% of the time what I already want before looking at either unless it’s a new restaurant of course. Seems foreign to me. There’s always one thing that sounds better than the rest. If there’s a tie I never end up with regret. I have OCD and anxiety and brain fog from health issues, and I realized a long time ago it’s not me so much as there’s an asinine level of choices on too many menus. It’s astonishing how even many popular restaurants have bloated menus, which only keeps their overhead and shrink high while keeping their profits lower than they could be.
I look up menus online because I want to know what is on something and what else is included. Makes ordering something much easier once I go there.
vLong story short, I went through severe trauma due to a health issue I had which aftermath left me scarred with high levels of stress and anxiousness. Trying to recover, I keep telling myself i want to go back to the Wharflurch Myco Worship shirt besides I will buy this person i was before the trauma, no stress no anxiety, and that’s how I want to channel and focus my thoughts. But, to no surprise, it never seemed to work and i kept on getting stressed and anxious. Now, during one meditation session, i came to a realization: Why do i want to think back to that person? That person never experienced what I have experienced, and never got a sense of the taste of death (the health issue). So, now, Im proud of who I am today, of everything i went through, and i never look back at who i was before (inexperienced). This consequently helped me cope much better with my stress. Damn this is actually an eye-opening post. Just like you, I always desired to be what I was like in the past. But no matter what I did it was always just me chasing my past self and never getting far at all in life. This is an insane realization for me. Thanks for posting op
Trauma is the Wharflurch Myco Worship shirt besides I will buy this most helpful thing for truly ascending. Its immeasurably helpful for a quicker ego death. You shouldn’t be seeking a regressive step back into your old self that would be a mistake. Thats why normies are oblivious and barely aware of their soul or mortality or the fact that they are trapped in the wheel of karma. I wish I had any of that when I started, things would have been easier. Instead I had to replicate traumas using a lot of rituals and pushing my body and soul to unbearable limits before I could truly break through. That was an incredibly beautiful sentiment to leave with others as far as I’m concerned. There is something about that growth, mentioning it is like mentioning one of the most profound things you could think of. Without experiencing it then I don’t think you’d know it like you could, not reasonably, and I mean the pain and the growth in response.
I don’t think growth absolutely needs to be extra painful but that’s theoretical. I think it’s honestly a quick way of learning to look at the Wharflurch Myco Worship shirt besides I will buy this world and have everything about it shine with light, like, emotion. How can we learn to feel as we do without duality? What starts the fun or creates a sense of humor or intense togetherness or the memory of compassion? I mean, how could you truly max it out without as many challenges? You could, I think. It feels nonsensical! Like, comparing is important but beyond that the pain and the release from it can feel so special. Without pain, would I simply stop thinking and feeling without already having the prior perspectives that lead to positivity as we know it? I think noooonono.
