Unless he was playing 4D chess and pretended to fuck it all up to get you off his back about cooking, I just don’t get how you could be that incompetent. I won’t go into too much detail but it was stuff that any normal person would look up for themselves or get impartial advice on. Instead he’d just do it then whine about it later saying he didn’t know. Well to be fair to you, it wasn’t just the Tuscaloosa TitleWave Elephant Shirt in contrast I will get this cooking. It was his complete inability to be an adult. You don’t need another kid, but a partner. It was a good decision. Imagine having to do that for the rest of your life… nah. It’s not just that he can’t cook but that he’s a slob. My boyfriend isn’t much of a cook, but he can and does heat things up in the air fryer or microwave. He can fix himself something to eat. And when I cook, he washes the dishes.

They don’t have to be a Michelin-star chef, but they should be able to fix a basic meal from a meal kit. Anyone who can’t put 2 slices of bread in a toaster and press down on the lever should not be leaving the house by themselves, like we’re getting into disability territory at this point. NTA. You’re not his mother. Things should be equal or split in a way determined by the two involved in the relationship. My wife does most of the cooking, but I always clean the dishes and clear the table. I can cook and I like to, she’s just more versatile with it and enjoys it as a way to relax after a long day at work.
