I honestly couldn’t speak to how things are now. A few years back, I worked in social services and even amongst “professionals”, these attitudes weren’t just normalized, but baked into practices and procedures. I think if you worked in a field that regularly dealt with sexual violence and IPV like I did, you’d be shocked. While a majority of my IPV victims were men, there wasn’t a single service available for male victims. My first introduction to this was when I asked our DV shelter about getting help to this one guy. As to your second point, I was responding to someone who specifically was talking about court. But also, let me point you to all the woman victims who’ve had their reputation tarnished by the court of public opinion for speaking up against their rapists and abusers.

If you are drunk and kill someone, you are responsible. If you get drunk and have sex, you are responsible. If you are really drunk, like 3,5‰ or something along those lines and you didn’t plan to kill someone beforehand, you can’t be charged with murder, because you were unsound of mind in that moment.
