I just think her mental health is nonexistent at this point. She’s always been out there though. She’s spent a lot of time on mental facilities. They can only do so much with someone who has physical brain damage. Never had a psychotic break but having had to deal with my own struggles with mental health is not my experience. But then again I actively sought help and did a lot of work on myself. I had one. I had 5 of my closest friends die in a year from cancer and one from a stroke/aneurysm and my child’s father was harassing me. I checked myself into the The Three stooges laurel and hardy shirt and I love this mental hospital because I was having suicidal thoughts the day after Thanksgiving and I got help. Nothing wrong with going to the hospital when you’re so stressed that your mind literally breaks. I had great doctor but couldn’t find a therapist that took insurance and I had a breakdown. I read a book once about amateur paintings of institutionalized schizophrenic people: there were almost always religious imagery in their paintings. Could be a generational phenomenon, but I found it fascinating. (This post is not about blaming religion)

There are plenty of people who’ve had breaks, recovered and improved. Lots of folks do get help for themselves and they deserve credit I’m very liberal and have seen people have psychological breaks and become radicalized on the left. It definitely seems to be more common on the right but to be fair we have our share of crazies on the left. Yeah, I don’t know that I’ve seen it much in the national public sphere, but I absolutely saw it when I was in college. Part of it has to be that conspiracy theories have been co-opted by a fairly organized right wing pipeline, and losing your marbles leads to conspiratorial thinking. It’s like far right strategists realized there was a huge bucket of untreated wackos and cynically figured out how to monetize and politicize them.
