Tampa Bay Roofball vintage design

This black tee is a throwback homage to the early days of baseball in St. Petersburg, Florida. The front graphic displays the classic “TAMPA BAY ROOFBALL” slogan alongside the historic address 1 Tropicana Dr, St. Petersburg, FL 33707 and the playful phone number (727) 555-ROOF. It captures the specific nostalgia of the region’s sports history for locals and fans who remember the unique stadium nickname.

Design details and nostalgia

The artwork features the iconic Ray mascot holding a bat and briefcase next to an illustration of the old stadium roof. This graphic tee combines retro sports memorabilia with a quirky local reference that resonates with long-time residents. The white print on the dark fabric highlights the vintage aesthetic, making it a standout piece for anyone interested in the evolution of the team’s branding and the memorable character from the Devil Rays era.

Material and fit

Made from soft black cotton fabric, this shirt offers comfortable wear for everyday use. The durable white screen print ensures the Tampa Bay Roofball design remains crisp after washing. Available in standard unisex sizes, it fits a wide range of shoppers looking for authentic-feeling retro apparel without compromising on comfort or quality.

Is this an official Tampa Bay Rays product?

No, this is not licensed MLB merchandise. It is a retro-style fan tribute shirt inspired by the historic “Roofball” era and the original Ray mascot. The design celebrates the unofficial nickname and cultural memory associated with the stadium rather than current official branding.

What does the text on the shirt say?

The front print reads “TAMPA BAY ROOFBALL (727) 555-ROOF 1 TROPICANA DR ST. PETERSBURG, FL 33707”. This text includes the area code reference and the physical location of the ballpark, serving as a searchable souvenir for those familiar with the St. Petersburg address.

Who is the character Ray on the design?

Ray was the original cartoon mascot for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. On this shirt, the character is depicted holding a baseball bat and a briefcase, reflecting his role during the team’s early years. Fans recognize him as a key part of the franchise’s visual identity before the rebranding.

Is this shirt suitable for gifting to Florida locals?

Yes, this tee appeals strongly to former residents, long-time fans, and anyone who remembers the unique “Roofball” nickname for the stadium. It makes a thoughtful gift for people with ties to the Tampa Bay area who appreciate local sports history and inside jokes about the ballpark’s distinctive roof.
