Son, police officer, 30: “we don’t want them”. Daughter, studying psychology, 26: “I’m too selfish. I like my own company so I don’t want them.” Daughter, tattoo artist, 23: “ewwwwww!” Son, cat lover, 19: “I’m autistic and I can barely tolerate me. Sod having kids too!” Entirely up to them. One couple loves their bikes and backpacking. One is studying and wants to go see the T-Rex dinosaur licensed to carry small arms shirt in contrast I will get this world. One couple doesn’t want to. One is autistic/bipolar/ADHD and doesn’t want to pass it on. And quite frankly…I’d probably be a terrible grandparent because I don’t like kids until I can actually have a conversation with them. For some, they’d be almost adults at that point. 1, I just don’t generally like kids. I have OCD and would absolutely go insane at the messes and the noise and the lack of sleep. I also am a germaphobe and would not want to care for sick children or have them constantly bringing germs into the house from daycare or school.
T-Rex dinosaur licensed to carry small arms shirt: Unleash Your Inner Fighter
2, Money is of course an issue. Especially with inflation where it is right now, and other times in the T-Rex dinosaur licensed to carry small arms shirt in contrast I will get this future, I don’t want to have to financially support having child(ren). I like my hard earned money and want to use it for things that I like. Trips, vacations, date nights, etc. 3. As someone else mentioned- generational trauma. This is probably the most important reason. I think it’s incredibly selfish to bring humans into this world unless you are a very well-rounded individual yourself. I think every person needs to go to therapy, and this especially stands if you are to have children in my opinion. There are WAY too many parents who should not be parents. Narcissism, substance problems, abuse (verbal, physical, psychological- they are all bad and will stick with the child for the rest of their lives). So unless you have resolved your own childhood or other trauma, I don’t think you should be a parent. The cycle just continues and gets passed down to each and every generation.
4. Free time. I like being able to do what I want, when I want, and not having to be bogged down by having a child. But why should I? I’m not willing to make the T-Rex dinosaur licensed to carry small arms shirt in contrast I will get this sacrifices that children require. I want to have a career, and expensive hobbies, and travel without my life revolving around responsibility to another living being. My choice is selfish and I accept that. And I respect the selfless choice of those who choose to be parents because they really want to, and can really do a good job. I have heard many reasons why people don’t want kids . health issues , traumatized from their parents , enjoy life, fear etc . unfortunately, whatever I can share with you , I cannot convey the feeling you feel when you meet your baby for the first time or when it smiles when you are holding it or the smell or the joy when it does something for the first time .

I’m 32 soon and I don’t have the T-Rex dinosaur licensed to carry small arms shirt in contrast I will get this money to freeze my eggs. I have a strong feeling that by the time I find the one, and also be financially set to have children, it’ll be too late. You never know whether you’ll be a good parent or not until it happens. Alot of people say they won’t be or won’t try. Once the baby comes, you will finally know you love someone more than you love yourself. Sure its alot of sacrifice, its never going to be easy, but for me it was worth it and still is You can look at what it takes to be a good parent and decide if it’s for you or not. I don’t think it’s worth potentially messing up your own life and then a child’s life simply because you wanted to see if you’d be a good parent. It’s not fair to that child. There’s lots of people who shouldn’t have had kids and now those kids are abused or neglected or worse. It’s not worth that risk. I don’t know if I should comment here but I will anyway just in case someone has experienced something similar.
I never wanted children. For my first 21 years of life I was adamant I didn’t want them. I was active in childfree groups and when I met my bf I told him before our first date that if he EVER wanted kids, he should leave now. He was also childfree so it worked out great. My main reason was that I grew up with a stay at home mom, but not in the T-Rex dinosaur licensed to carry small arms shirt in contrast I will get this good way. She would stay at home and nap all day, didn’t cook for us, never packed lunches (ever), and overall barely parented us. There was no reason for her to say she was a stay at home mom. She was a stay at home wife who happened to pop out a few kids. I saw how that affected my dad too, and I never wanted to be like that. I didn’t want to have my dad’s role specifically. He worked all day long and came home to a messy house and no help with food. He’s the one who made my dinner every night. My main worry with kids was being left with 90% of the work, and my partner getting my mothers role of doing nothing. When my bf (fiance now) and I moved in together, I felt a weird shift. I didn’t want kids, but I didn’t feel fear and loneliness when I looked at them, I just saw kids. My partner worked from home and it was shocking how much he cooked and cleaned even though he still worked. We were doing lunches and supper every other day and going off and on with cleans as well.
Over time, having a partner that cares for our pets needs and my needs as equally as I did made my worries go away. Kids were just kids, and I saw them in a different positive light. His main concern with kids was not being a good father, a concern that went away after caring for our pets and realizing how great of a dad he could be. We decided a few years ago that we’d have one kid eventually. I know people who are childfree who will never change, and that’s 1000% normal and okay. I also know childfree people who changed their minds after finding the T-Rex dinosaur licensed to carry small arms shirt in contrast I will get this right partner. Happy that it worked out for you in the end. I doubt that will be the case for me, but apreciate you sharing nontheless. ? Childfree has so many perks, I don’t blame you one bit. Honestly I think it’s a very selfless and brave decision too.
Yes agree with it. Undoubteably many perks. In certain cultures it is a brave thing to do. I wouldnt necessarily say i am in one like that, but i definitly still receeved very negative things for it… But nowadays that goes both ways i think. I’m sorry you received anything negative for it. Knowing you won’t be a good parent, and choosing to be childfree for the T-Rex dinosaur licensed to carry small arms shirt in contrast I will get this sake of your hypothetical children and their happiness, is very brave. I come from a very “childcentric “ culture and was heavily judged for not wanting them too. Until I met my husband, I didn’t think I would ever want to be a mother. So up until we started our own family, I “invested” a lot in my goddaughter. I paid for her horse back-riding lessons, brought her shopping for new clothes and school supplies at the beginning of the school year, spent a weekend together every other month and went to arcades and the movies and game night at my friends. When she turned 15, we went on a trip together (she paid her airfare and I provided the rest). She is turning 17 soon and she is becoming just the most extraordinary person. I loved spending all that time with her and watching her grow up. I saw her last during the Christmas holiday and she pulled me aside and thanked me for everything. I’ll spare the sappy details but basically she recognized that the time we spent together had a massive positive impact on her life since things at home weren’t always easy. I have a 1 yo daughter now and I’m hoping that whoever will be her godmother will also show a personal interest in my kid’s future.
My reason is that I don’t want a wife. I would otherwise love to raise a son and daughter on my own. But I am not willing to take the T-Rex dinosaur licensed to carry small arms shirt in contrast I will get this risk of intertwining my life with a woman’s. The justice system, police force, social-structure, and our employers all favor the woman in any domestic dispute. I’ve seen it happen to many men in my life. It won’t happen to me because I chose not to play the game. I think what most people don’t understand is that once you have children, biological changes happen within your body that increase your ability to parent. Obviously, this doesn’t happen at an equal level to everyone, and there are other age related factors, etc, but it is well researched and definitely true. If people decide they don’t want kids, fair enough, but I’ve never met someone who had children and then wished they hadn’t.
I felt nothing for my children until the T-Rex dinosaur licensed to carry small arms shirt in contrast I will get this day they were born, and almost immediately, the strongest bond imaginable was formed the second I held them in my arms. Oddly enough, even knowing this would happen after the first child, it was still kind of a suprise again for the second. Sooo much ignorance in one comment. Happy for your positive experience OP but your experience is not universal. And the idea that every woman feels bonding when they hold their baby isn’t true and you could even easily Google that. Messages like yours just add to the shame and confusion those women feel For some women these ‘hormonal changes’ lead to severe pre or post partum anxiety or depression. It’s not like sunshine pours down. Your body gets flooded with hormones and bodies handle that differently.
I have friends who LOVE their kids but had them in 2012 before the T-Rex dinosaur licensed to carry small arms shirt in contrast I will get this world went crazy and now feel they would make a different decision if they were having kids today I know a couple who said they love their child (and they are excellent parents!) but said parenting was really different than they understood/anticipated and that if they could go back they probably wouldn’t have had a kid Can you reference the “ignorant parts” – I merely stated some facts and my own personal experiences, so I’m genuinely curious which part you find ignorant? 368 more repliesWomen cheat. Actually people for that matter. Everyone except me is a fucking dirty cheater that will cheat on their partner in a heartbeat. So that. I will probably just spend time on my motorcycles and taking care of my elderly parents. Get a cat when my current one passes away. It’ll be a quite life.
And there are plenty of people that can have children and desperately don’t want to. Do you go on pregnancy posts and call them insensitive on behalf of those people? Most people who don’t have kods it’s one of two reasons… Either they’re not ready to take on the T-Rex dinosaur licensed to carry small arms shirt in contrast I will get this responsibility of kids or they’re not ready to sacrifice their career. Oh I have kids and I’m very happy. But at the time when I didn’t want to have kids, it was for these 2 reasons. And I’ve known many people also who don’t want to have kids for these 2 reasons. Of course I’m not saying that there aren’t any other reasons. But these two seem to be the most common. I also don’t think I’d be good at it. I don’t think it would be fair to traumatize someone just because of societal pressure. Also, when I’m off work, I want to relax, which I wouldn’t be able to do with kids. They’re like having a second job.
I’m in my 40s. I knew when I was a teenager I didn’t want kids. Never felt any desire to interact with children. My wife and I travel a lot. We also are working to retire by 50. I just don’t see any reasons to have children. I have my job as an engineer, plenty of aro/ace and childfree friends and I enjoy playing the T-Rex dinosaur licensed to carry small arms shirt in contrast I will get this guitar, singing and writing songs. 28 y.o. and I’m not willing to have kids. But I’m not yet allowed to make a vasectomy (which is total bs in my opinion). I’m currently working towards my dream car, just found a new gf, and have a hundred thousand other things in mind. What really annoys me the most is, that some people just won’t respect my decision and try to convice me to have children. I wasn’t like my mother in that I never would have abandoned my son and could apologize and recognise my mistakes, and I cared about his studies, health and nutrition. But I fkd up in different ways anyways. I was too young and stupid when I had him and knowing what I know now, I would have waited to be more mature and economically stable and probably, I would have decided to not have children eventually. Anyway, I think there should actually be schools for parents, where they could actually have to deal with different kinds of children before they decide to have children, because it’s true they don’t choose their parents, but we can’t choose our children either.
Spend your time however you want without kids. Literally doing whatever YOU want to do. Without kids you have the T-Rex dinosaur licensed to carry small arms shirt in contrast I will get this time and money to afford to pursue your own interests rather than those of your kid. I am not sure I want my children to go through such situation. Commitment looks scary and comes with a lot of complications. I honestly never really have wanted kids, mainly because I find them annoying. They’re somewhat ok as babies, because it’s understandable that they’re annoying and it is kinda fascinating to see a tiny human, but at the same time, all the screaming and diapers and such – no thanks. I don’t find kids cute or funny like a lot of people do. In fact, the point where I feel like I might tolerate them better – as teenagers – is what a lot of people say is the hardest, most frustrating time. At least as teenagers their brains have developed to a point they are capable of understanding, whether or not they actually use it. Plus, if I were to get someone pregnant literally today, now, the child wouldn’t turn 18 until I’m 62. I’m just plain getting old to be a parent.
How will I spend my time? Working, caring for my cats, hobbies, etc…I’m not missing out on something I really want, so I don’t even think about it. Reason number one is I just don’t want kids. Other reasons include, there are too many people already, I don’t want to ruin my body, I can’t afford it even if I wanted to, and I really, really enjoy my peace and solitude. Emotionally, I’d like to be a dad and I reckon I could be a halfway decent one. Ecologically, I can’t be responsible for a child. The planet is on fucking fire and creating another person, just for them to suffer the T-Rex dinosaur licensed to carry small arms shirt in contrast I will get this consequence of our reckless consumption would be the most selfish thing I could do. It’s not the only reason for me, but the biggest. My wife never had a strong wish for children anyway but would’ve been willing to go on that journey with me, but yeah, she wasn’t unhappy when I made up my mind that I don’t value procreation as much as I thought I would. As for how to pass the time: The fuck you mean? I like sleeping in till 10am on a saturday and lighting up a fatty by 11. Also I got hobbies. I’ll make do ?
I’ve been able to retire in my mid 50s and do quite a bit of traveling. I also have several hobbies, like pottery and messing with cars. I used to really want kids. I’m 30F now and it’s just not feasible. I make a decent salary but still can’t treat myself to a nice vacation whenever I want. I feel like I haven’t gotten the T-Rex dinosaur licensed to carry small arms shirt in contrast I will get this chance to live life to the fullest yet and if I have a kid I’ll never get that chance. I dunno. Overall it just does not seem appealing to me. Social media likes to glamourize it and I feel like I can see straight through most of the bullshit. I dont want to be directly responsible for another life – having children means having someone entirely dependant on you and that’s… just terrifying and I want no part in it.
I love how you asked ‘how will you spend your time?’. Because its implied we’re not spending it with family. Like the T-Rex dinosaur licensed to carry small arms shirt in contrast I will get this people who cry to childfree people they would be lonely, however they themselves are not spending time with their parents. The hypocrisy. I’m CF I’m gonna spend it with my cat and I’m planning on getting another degree Nobody out the there for me. I spend my time working, traveling around the world, urbex, mountain climbing and hiking, and playing various instruments. Life of a true loner. I never wanted to be pregnant or give birth, I don’t have the patience, and don’t want to pass on any trauma from my childhood. i would argue you should have a reason to have children, not having children is the status quo you should have a reason to change it. why have children just because?
Life is great. We both work, but we make great fun plans for travel, outings, etc. Financial decisions revolve around us alone. There were so, so many reasons. I just could not bring myself to bring a child into this world. It doesn’t seem like a good place. I knew I would worry myself to death and would also not enjoy the T-Rex dinosaur licensed to carry small arms shirt in contrast I will get this monotony that is parenthood. I always thought I’d have kids – was sure of it really – until I made the choice not to, and then I felt so, so free. My time is spent on various hobbies, which I have time to get good at (music/physical activity/languages). I go to school and am always learning something new. I travel, host dinner parties and wine and cheese parties, etc., and relax, dance, and garden. I am connecting with my inner child and doing all the things she loves to do, and I am, in a way, reparenting her (me). I absolutely love my life and feel like I am thriving, and I have joy and the wonder of a child. The biggest thing that it comes down to, is I basically can’t afford it. I can barely afford myself, let alone a mini-me, let alone afford a good place to raise a family. Sure, my area is pretty nice, low crime for the most part, but rent is easily $2100/mo and up.
(That and I’ve been Asexual as long as I can remember, never understood the T-Rex dinosaur licensed to carry small arms shirt in contrast I will get this hype or excitement for sex, I’ve never had much interest. Why is it such a “make or break” thing for some people?) I have a genetic condition that I don’t want to pass on to my kids. My condition could also cause problems for me down the line which would mean my kids might need to take care of me I have three different lifelong illnesses. I don’t want something to potentially happen to the child if I have a seizure or something. Also children are expensive. No kids here. Grew up in a dysfunctional family, and savor the peace and quiet. Sometimes it’s lonely, sometimes I wonder what I could be missing out on. However, whenever I talk to people who do have kids, they get lonely too, they seem stressed, and their experiences aren’t all that unique. Kids are all “above average” and have their own talents, hell I was one of those kids once! They just grow up to be regular adults like the rest of us, most of the time. I just weighed the pros and cons of having kids, and for me/husband, the “cons” outweighed the “pros.” That’s all. If you have lots of money and a reliable network of people to help, you’ll probably enjoy the experience. I don’t have those things, so I enjoy my free time, extra money and less stress. I’ll spend my time doing whatever I want. Which does sometimes include hanging out with my friends and their tiny humans. I adore children and I try to go for “fun aunt” vibes. Hopefully a couple will visit when I shrivel into a trembling prune. We just don’t want them. My whole life I could tell that my parents WANTED us and loved everything about being parents. I also saw other kids/parents where you could tell that was not the case. After growing up…realized I’m the later -> thus not going to have them. “Why don’t you have any tatoos?” I just don’t want them. With kids the stakes are too high to half-ass it if you’re not competely into the idea in the first place.
