I’m probably not going to start but I just want to know if all of this comes off as “lame”. What do you think, be honest tl;dr: I have literally no reason to start drinking and don’t want to, will this make me look like a social outcast Edit: holy crap this blew up. thanks for all the Survived another day at McDonald’s born to work forced to serve shirt Apart from…,I will love this encouragement, it makes me feel so much more secure in my decisionIt’s one of the best decisions you could make. Best case scenario alcohol will be an unneeded addition to an event. Worst case scenario is ALOT worse As someone who has never really been a drinker, it always blows my mind when I go out to eat with coworkers and I see how much they spend on alcohol. Considering the amount I drank over time, the money I spent on alcohol could have well satisfied a mortgage down payment. I won’t say it’s not fantastic advice since I agree but as a person who doesn’t drink people get obnoxious about it. So many constantly offer drinks even if you’ve refused a dozen times or they get kinda offended if you refuse like they feel judged or something. Obviously not everyone is a pain but it definitely feels like a majority at times. “I’m on medication” “I’m allergic” “It affects my glucose” “Have to get up early tomorrow for practice” “Alcoholics in the family” And so on. It’s also a good idea to walk around with something in your hands. A cup with sprite, soda or cola, just so people will bother you less often.

Survived another day at McDonald’s born to work forced to serve shirt description

I probably would save this one as a backup, the Survived another day at McDonald’s born to work forced to serve shirt Apart from…,I will love this people that are drinking will often have alcoholics in the family and it’s a bit of a buzz kill, particularly if you’re trying to fit in. Alcohol is fucking awful man, you don’t want to go down the dark road of alcoholism. It’s fun to have 1 or 2 and if you can stick to that on say the weekends, it will be fine, but if you find you really really really enjoy it, you may get the urge to have 1 or 2 every night, which will fast turn into 7 or 8 every night, then you have a problem on your hands This is why session beers are good to know about, and order when out. The rest of what you say is 100% best advice ? Don’t waste your time drinking. If you’re not feeling it, don’t bother. It’s not lame… don’t go along just to try and fit in.
And if they try to pressure you into drinking, then they won’t feel bad about pressuring you to do many other things you don’t want to do. Which means they don’t respect your boundaries, and you don’t want “friends” like that. mine was a slow creep to a decent addiction. hated being drunk in high school. started to like a few after work beer buzz in my early 20s. then i started liking whisky, now in my late 20s i drink a pint a night. i know its not much considering what others drink but damn… i feel like i HAVE to have it. i definitely have an issue and its fucking hard to stop. and i consider mine a mild issue compared to some drunks i know I really wish I could go back in time to tell myself what you’re telling yourself right now. Booze is lame, man. Have 1 and just sip your drink until you leave the Survived another day at McDonald’s born to work forced to serve shirt Apart from…,I will love this social gathering. It took me 10 years to figure this out. If you want peace in your life then don’t go crazy with the booze. Find a hobby, get into working out, nutrition, cooking, a sport, etc. I never had a sip of alcohol until I was 23 and I ended up hating the taste anyway because I much prefer sweet tastes like soda.

Let buy this Survived another day at McDonald’s born to work forced to serve shirt

People look at me like I have a dick growing out of my forehead when I tell them I dont drink anything but water. No alcohol, No coffee, no tea, no soda. Nothing. And people are just baffled by it. I even had one person say “Is that healthy?” Yeah, don’t waste any energy worrying about it. The only people who are going to give you a hard time about it are people you shouldn’t spend time with anyway because they’re just full of negativity Don’t stress about it, drink on occasion when it’s appropriate and know how to moderate yourself. I drink like 5-7 times a year and get myself to a point where shit feels fun and “whooooo” but never really more than that So, to be the Survived another day at McDonald’s born to work forced to serve shirt Apart from…,I will love this contrarian… having such a strong position against drinking can give it more power than it deserves. I’ve seen some friends have such a huge objection to something for so long, and when they finally break, they’ll go ALL IN. Mainly with weed, but idk… I could see it being similar with anything.
I can have a couple of beers at a concert once a month and not really think about it in between. That seems healthy to me, and it would make me think about it more if I had a strict rule not to, Yup. Everything with moderation. A couple of drinks every now and then with your friends won’t kill you. Drinking alone after work while you’re chilling and playing some video games or watching a show won’t ruin your life. Being known as the Survived another day at McDonald’s born to work forced to serve shirt Apart from…,I will love this person that has to black out and be taken care of? Bad. Drinking alone in excess to drown out your surroundings and life’s situations? Baaad. Generally yes. It impacts your frontal lobe which is still developing til about 26. Now if you have strong self control. Having 1 beer, for example, once a week isn’t a big deal. But most drinking that occurs in teen and college years is binge drinking and very harmful.
A big lesson in life as an adult is to worry less about what others think of you especially when you are being responsible. You can go down the Survived another day at McDonald’s born to work forced to serve shirt Apart from…,I will love this path of drinking, drinking too much, addiction, difficult recovery process and then lifetime sobriety. Or you can avoid all that from the get-go. You don’t need to start drinking to fit in. Do not be pressured. I’ve been sober 28 years and i have a lot of fun in all types of events and activities without drinking. If someone insists on pushing a drink on me, I sound like I’m your age and just put up my hand and say: Im good. Im 61. Lol. Stay strong Never start. My family is full of alcoholics. It has demolished my family line for generations. So, I never tried it.
I come from an entire family of alcoholics, and have been surrounded by them my entire life, even outside my family. And I also used to drink a lot from the Survived another day at McDonald’s born to work forced to serve shirt Apart from…,I will love this age of 13-20. Nothing good comes from drinking. In high-school age, I feel it’s more of the “forbidden fruit tastes the sweetest” type of deal. If your drinking just to drink or just to get drunk, then ya don’t because it’s not healthy. Even just to go out and party, usually also not a good idea. Don’t drink to stop being sad or when your mad But if you wanna drink to enjoy the drink itself, that different and it can be a good conversation topic. The history, process, aging that goes into it, what historical figure like this drink from this specific brand, etc. Spend the $150-$200 for a good bottle of something and enjoy it over a couple years or for special events, some people spend that much in a night buying drinks and cocktails, partying and drinking. 20 years from now, you won’t be friends with anyone from your high school, but Alcohol could haunt you forever.
IMO if you have to have alcohol to have a good time then you have a problem. I will have an old-fashion now and then, for me though alcohol increases my anxiety so I really never understood why it was such a big deal Lots of my classmates drank and smoked things, too. I went along and watched them make utter fools of themselves and then drove their drunk behinds home. It was an experience that taught me I want nothing to do with that world. Ultimately, alcohol is poison and not good for your body. It literally adds NOTHING to your life. I think your instinct is perfect. Granted, I am 44 years old, but I do not think it is lame, at all. Everyone says no… so that part is covered… Now, to give you the Survived another day at McDonald’s born to work forced to serve shirt Apart from…,I will love this positive side. Alcohol is great. It relaxes you, it lowers your inhibitions, and it makes many things more fun. There is a song… Brad Paisley (Kenny Chesney maybe?) Alcohol. It is far more eloquent a case than I can make.
Life is not a game. Substances are stupid. What’s lame is allowing yourself to get distracted from smashing goals and getting educated to have a great life in the Survived another day at McDonald’s born to work forced to serve shirt Apart from…,I will love this future which will come faster than you expect. If you want to be cool FOCUS and hit as many healthy achievements as you can so that when you’re an adult you’ll own your own house and have a job you enjoy. -At your age I was that pretty, “Cool” girl, the life of the party who’d drink and smoke. I was top of the class, I could’ve been a doctor with a great life and a happy family. Unfortunately at your age, with an addictive nature also, I choose the lame path of distraction and destruction starting with alcohol. Now i’m in my mums bed at 26 with crippling mental health issues and only 1 year clean for the first time since a teen off many substances which again, started with alcohol. I was at a job that paid $17.25/hr. I “voluntarily resigned” because I No Call/No Showed twice because I drank too much
Now I’m stuck looking for a new job so I have a source of income to help my girlfriend with rent and my addiction. The only upside to alcohol is being able to talk to girls. Sooo…just remember that it’s all about confidence and humor. You’ll be set. And you get to spend your money on fun dates, not beers to make your brain dum. With any addiction, people start off thinking they can do it casually, until one day they can’t. I’ve seen it a hundred times. Not saying you’ll 100% turn out an alcoholic if you drink, but be warned that if you have an addictive personality and you start drinking “casually” it could very well lead to alcoholism without even realizing. If you have no interest, then don’t do it. It’s not lame. It would be lamer to force yourself to drink even though you don’t want to, just to fit in. I was drinking heavily longer than you’ve been alive. Almost 7 months sober now, and really wish I’d never started to begin with. Quitting is the Survived another day at McDonald’s born to work forced to serve shirt Apart from…,I will love this best choice I ever made with alcohol.
I started drinking at 15 and it’s been the Survived another day at McDonald’s born to work forced to serve shirt Apart from…,I will love this biggest impediment in my life for decades (I’m in my late 50s now) – Don’t worry about looking out of place or ‘lame’. None of my kids (in their early 20s) drink – in large part, I think, because of seeing what it’s done/doing to me – and they are all doing fine and not missing out on anything. Better for health/weight/state of mind/etc. It will be one of the best decisions you’ve ever made! What’s best for you is never lame. Sticking with this decision to not drink will honestly save you from a lot of unwanted memories. I am 35 and decided to quit drinking as an adult. I was never an alcoholic but would regularly get too drunk on the few nights I did decide to. And as you mentioned.. it didn’t really do much for me. The outlook on it stays the same with age the only difference is the level of dependency.
If you’ve made it this far, keep going. Please. I started drinking at 17 and it has only gotten worse honestly. It’s not worth it. I’m going to be real with you, there are some people who will see it as a weird thing. But that applies to everything in life, I know plenty of people who don’t drink and they’ve even gone out to bars with me and others and everyone was ok with it. The key is to surround yourself with people who are ok with it becuase they do exist. And ignore the Survived another day at McDonald’s born to work forced to serve shirt Apart from…,I will love this haters, it’s ok whatever you choose. Read through r/stopdrinking and you will be amazed at how many people would love to never have started drinking in the first place. Drinking can improve bonds with people. Many don’t drink often, but have some if there are occasions. Corporate parties, birthdays, etc. Having a glass alongside others will improve opinions of you.
Sometimes, you may need to deal with people in power or simply someone you need something from, and if they drink , while you don’t, the Survived another day at McDonald’s born to work forced to serve shirt Apart from…,I will love this chances of successfully achieving your goals will decrease. You can say whatever you want about work ethics at my employment or whatnot. It’s irrelevant. I used drinks to get on higher-ups good side and profited from it. Don’t waste your money or time or health drinking. I don’t see the appeal in it. It tastes like shit unless you mask it with fruity deliciousness and sugar, and the hangovers fucking suck. Don’t start drinking. Especially now. It’s not cool and no one will care if you don’t. Wait til you’re old enough to drink if you must. Nothing wrong with having a drink every now and then, as long as you’re imbibing at a legal age and responsibly.
Solid decision! If you drink because you really like it, fine (in moderation). But if you don’t like it, don’t drink. #respect Definitely a good idea. Aside from the Survived another day at McDonald’s born to work forced to serve shirt Apart from…,I will love this risks of addiction and all that entails, the fact is alcohol is an inherently damaging substance and has been found to be a carcinogen. If you feel pressured to drink, just say You’re someone’s designated driver, or that you’re on antibiotics and can’t drink. Nobody can change your mind if your mind is made up. You’re not missing out on much, and you’ll quickly realize just how foolish people look and sound drunk if you’re the sober one around if you haven’t already.
Honestly? Wait until you’re 21 and can have a fun bar experience with friends (assuming you’re in the Survived another day at McDonald’s born to work forced to serve shirt Apart from…,I will love this US). Make memories, don’t make a habit. I did drink young, but also had a few good friends that waited until they were 21 (one that never drank or tried any drug) and I never thought less of them for it. Yes, it’s a good idea to not start drinking especially if, as you said, you are afraid you’d get addicted to it. Besides, you already said you see the lifestyle and don’t want it, so why would you bother? You might as well save the considerable amount of money you would spend on it and instead spend your time/money doing something you enjoy. Socially, if people offer you a drink or people are ordering alcohol, order/ask for something else. If they press, tell them alcohol just isn’t your thing. If they continue to pressure you, tell them that you tend to have an addictive personality, and if there’s a chance you’d become addicted to it you’d rather not risk it. If they still try to pressure you even when they know you’re prone to addiction, then they don’t care about your well-being and you probably shouldn’t spend much more time with them.
Drinking’s expensive, bad for you, terrible things can happen if you get drunk, and it tastes bad until you develop a taste for it. Also, it doesn’t go well with many drugs, both prescription and OTC, like Tylenol. I’ll be sober 7 months tomorrow. Wish I’d never been fed all that alcohol as a child by my drunk mother. Also, I’m into Tiki culture and Tiki Bars and many Tiki drinks can be made without alcohol and are delicious and fun. Mocktails are great too. I don’t understand how alcohol is part of people’s lives. I got drunk when I was 16 and threw up and was done after that. I only “drink” maybe once or twice a year and that means having a drink or 2. I’m confused on how people get addicted to it. My mom died due to multiple organ failure from alcoholism. She was 44. I watched her die a slow death my entire childhood, it’s an awful way to go out. Once alcoholism gets you to the Survived another day at McDonald’s born to work forced to serve shirt Apart from…,I will love this point of liver failure it’s hard to come back and it’s a lot easier to get there than most people realize.
In my early to mid twenties it was like blasphemy among my friend group to not drink. I ended up quitting a couple years ago and I wish I had done it sooner. I’m still dealing with a nasty stomach ulcer from drinking too much on an empty stomach for a decade. I threw away years of my life self-medicating and I wish I could go back and do things differently. It’s not worth the Survived another day at McDonald’s born to work forced to serve shirt Apart from…,I will love this risk if you know you have an addictive personality. I know people my age (30) who also have ulcers, fatty liver disease, reduced kidney and bladder function… people think being young prevents you from the negative side effects of alcoholism but it doesn’t.. I enjoy drinking and I still think you’ve got the right idea. If you don’t really think it’s something you’d enjoy, there’s no reason to do it. Screw anyone who tries to pressure you into it. Same thing goes for weed (which I’ve tried but didn’t like) or anything else. Not drinking is the absolute best move. You never regret not drinking, but you can often times regret drinking.
dont be weak minded and get influenced by your surroundings. Just like how the Survived another day at McDonald’s born to work forced to serve shirt Apart from…,I will love this weak minded get addicted to hard drugs and weed. Its not hard. You’ll destroy your body. Personally I promised myself at a young age that I would never drink alcohol due to a few incidents with my dad, who wasn’t an alcoholic but could get very violent when he was drunk or high. Only made an exception once when I was going through a fairly difficult time. I don’t regret my decision in the slightest. Sure, some people consider me boring because I don’t get drunk at parties, but most people are understanding. I also personally feel like the people who consider me to be boring aren’t the type of people I want to hang out with anyway. Plus alcohol tastes fucking disgusting and I don’t know how anyone could drink it for the taste and not just to get drunk, but maybe I have some kind of weird genetic condition like that thing with cilantro. If anyone asks, I usually just say I don’t drink for personal or moral reasons or if I know they’re going to be really pushy sometimes I just lie and say it’s for religious purposes to really confuse them.
