My husband has some trauma from repeatedly being denied food in his childhood and teen years. He was severely underweight and it stunted his growth. If our kids don’t eat for whatever reason, he gets super anxious. I have a cousin who has an aversion to food (we aren’t sure where it came from but their family is messed up so take your pic) and he would probably take one or two bites of his meal then ignore the Surely Not Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting VIntage sunset T-Shirt and I will buy this rest. A lot of parents get mad if their kids waste food, but there’s a lot of ways for parents to avoid that (just make smaller portions) I was forcefully encouraged to eat by teachers in the kindergarten, because I was a pale, tiny child who didn’t eat much at all — I disliked how everything non-home-made tasted. I especially hated fish. There was no abuse, but the teacher would keep me at the table for maybe up to 15-20 minutes, not letting me go for the midday nap until I finished some gross fish cutlet.
